Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/9/15 Full disclaimer - this is a massive slate, and there's no way I could ever possibly list every decent play today. So, I'll do my best in highlighting whom I believe to be the elite plays. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. I don't blame them. But I'm here to give you Cleveland's ace. While his ERA might not scream ace - his 2.89 xFIP is tied with Scherzer for 9th best in the majors, and his match-up today gives him the best upside of any of the aces going, from where I'm sitting. The Twins have the 7th worst wOBA in the league against right handed pitching, and the 9th highest strike-out percentage. Kluber will also be facing Phil Hughes, who hasn't struck out more than 5 batters in a game since April 24th. Oof. I like Kluber specifically for 50/50s and double-ups, but don't mind him in big tourneys if you can find good value in the cheaper position players today. Shelby Miller - FD 8300 DK 8800 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Mia (Hand) L Park- @Atl You say slump, I say buying opportunity. As always, this is baseball. We can't go crazy over a few tough games while ignoring the greater track record. While Miller is running hot when it comes to ERA as compared to xFIP, he has flashed strike-out-per-inning stuff in the right match-ups this season. The Miami Marlins are one such match-up. They are dead last in the majors when it comes to wOBA against right handed pitching, giving Miller one of the highest floors on a points per dollar basis today. And then there's Brad Hand. His 4.58 career xFIP is downright awful, and while some of that is because the Fish called him up way too early, he's still a sub 6 K/9 guy who has also struggled with control at times. I don't mind this play at all if you have a bunch of big dollar hitters you like today. Max Scherzer - FD 12300 DK 13200 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Col (Flande) L Park- @Was So, this is a really weird spot in some ways. On one hand, Scherzer is obviously an ace's ace, especially for...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/8/15 Happy Saturday, everyone! Two big slates, and many nice edges for your daily fantasy baseball gambling purposes today. As it's a huge slate, I'm going to break this down into two sections - I'll give you 1 guy for each position from the early slate, and 2 guys from the larger later slate. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo.   Pitchers Early Slate Noah Syndergaard - FD 10800 DK 11500 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- TB (Karns) R Park- @TB After a good 2014 AAA campaign, Syndergaard has been electric across AAA and the majors in 2015. His 2.94 xFIP would be good for 12th in the majors if he qualified (he's only a few innings off), and he's been better than the more ballyhooed duo of Harvey and DeGrom. He's also averaged 20 fantasy points in back to back 8 inning starts, and he's truly at the peak of his powers. Today he'll have truly an ideal match-up with the lowly Rays of Tampa Bay (sweet rhyming team name btw - why not the New York Storks, or the Colorado Avocados? I hate expansion teams.). The Rays have the 4th lowest wOBA in the majors against right handed pitching, which they pair with the 3rd highest K rate against right handers. I'm not worried about the surprisingly decent Nathan Karns, here. Syndergaard is an ace, and I like him for the win and a pile of Ks. Jesse Chavez actually makes an interesting punt option against Houston's K happy offense. He's on a reduced price after a few awful starts, but everyone is bad from time to time. Late Slate Tyson Ross - FD 8900 DK 10600 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Phi (Morgan) L Park- @Sd With a million great pitchers going in the last two days, we're left with a day of the dregs. I won't include Ross in that category. While there's something of a perception that Ross is lucky (due to his high BB rate), the fact of the matter is that he actually has a pretty serviceable and unique skill set. His 63% groundball rate is the 3rd highest in the majors, and it's nearly 5% higher than 4th place. He turns a lot of those walks into double plays, and erases others with his elite 9.56 strikeouts per 9 innings. Today he'll face the Phillies - owners of the 2nd worst wOBA in the majors against right handed pitching. The...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo and Victiv 8/7/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo and Victiv 8/7/15 There are a lot of ace or ace-lite pitchers going on this slate. Which means our hitter picks will trend to the cheaper side so we can work those arms into lineups. You won't be able to fade them all I don't think. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Draftster. Pitchers Let me reiterate something I mentioned about one second ago. There are a ton of really good pitchers going on this slate. And they all cost. Results aside, I'm always most confident at least with the process for our pitching selections. Today, outside of Kershaw (and the price there is daunting), I am a little concerned with "getting it right". So I'm going to write up a few more pitchers than normal with the reasoning. Am I hedging? F#$% yes. But I just don't see a totally clear path. Clayton Kershaw - FD 13400 DK 15000 Victiv Yahoo 70 Opponent- Pit (Cole) R Park- @Pit It's Kershaw Day. I'm not sure if you've been like us and rode Kershaw through some early struggles (with luck) to start the season. If you've stayed faithful then you've been healthily rewarded. The recent game log reads like something out of a Hall of Fame introduction speech. He's gone at least eight innings in his last four games, striking out double digits in three of them. He's got a 2.00 xFIP and ridiculous 7:1 K:BB rate. He's the leader for the NL Cy Young in my mind with those kinds of numbers. Today he faces a Pirates team ranked right around the middle of the pack against lefties in terms of wOBA, but they do strike out more than 23% of the time. Now here's the thing with Clayton: the price. It's exorbitant and he needs to be near perfect to hit on value. That combined with you'll have to find some cheap, safe hitters to fit him. So there's work to be done. But man, if any pitcher can pull it off he's the one. Cole Hamels - FD 10500 DK 10300 Victiv Yahoo 51 Opponent- Sea (Iwakuma) R Park- @Sea He's up here because our system like him a hair above some of the other arms and I think it's because the price is just that much lower than some of the other elite big boys. Hamels has the K rate we like to see. And the ballpark will help keep some of the power down....

Pitchers Early Slate Zack Greinke - FD 12600 DK 13500 Victiv Yahoo 59 Opponent- Phi (Buchanan) R Park- @Phi On this early slate there are only so many ways to go, so you might as well just pay up for the best arm going. Greinke, while priced like a total ace, doesn't quite have the peripherals to match. The strikeout rate just isn't there, but I'm not sweating it too much in these early games. He's facing a garbage-y Phillies squad that ranks second to last in the league against righty arms this season. Greinke's ERA is in the lower 1's though you should know the xFIP is more like the lower 3's. He's had a healthy amount of luck this season, namely a .231 BABIP against. But he's a monster favorite for the win today and his control keeps him later in games, luck or not. Look, the prices are totally out of bounds, especially on DraftKings where he has to basically be perfect. But it's tough to think about fading him here with the other arms and matchups. Late Slate Pitching on this evening slate is about as bad as you'll ever see for a set of games. Think long and hard about how much money you want to invest playing this slate. Chris Heston - FD 7900 DK 9800 Victiv Yahoo 46 Opponent- Chc (Hammel) R Park- @ChC Yikes. This one doesn't feel good, but really none of this slate gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling so hang with me here. Heston faces a Cubs team ranked in the bottom third of the league against righties and they strike out a whopping 24% of the time in this split. That, almost alone, is worth considering Heston here. He's been a decent enough major league pitcher (no-hitter aside) with a 7 per nine K rate and a mid 3's xFIP. Those numbers won't blow you away, but neither will the price. He's coming cheap and you'll be loading up on hitters all over this slate. That's what happens when the arms are coming for nothing. Consider C.C. Sabathia but only as a relative venture   By the way - we were reached out to by a new site that deals with all things betting. They have a good take on daily fantasy sports rules, if you're new to the whole thing.   Catchers Early Slate...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo and Victiv 8/5/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo and Victiv 8/5/15 Two slates on this Wednesday with a mini in the afternoon and a medium-sized one in the evening. Lot to get into, so let's get started. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Draftster. Pitchers Early Slate Danny Salazar - FD 8800 DK 11400 Victiv Yahoo 54 Opponent- LAA (Santigao) L Park- @Ana He's never an easy guy to trust and if you've been playing DFS for long you've probably been burned by him before. Such is the way with a guy like Salazar who has some insane stuff, but falls prey to fits of wildness (or getting blown up for a disaster inning). This isn't the best matchup in the world, but he's by far the best pure stuff pitcher on the slate. The Angels are a middle of the pack team against righties, striking out right around 20% of the time in this split. Salazar's been filthy at times this season with a K rate over 10, basically limiting the walks and working an xFIP in the low 3's. I'll take him over a similarly-priced Hector Santiago all day long without hesitation. Late Slate Madison Bumgarner - FD 11400 DK 10600 Victiv Yahoo 54 Opponent- Atl (Perez) R Park- @Atl You're spending up on pitching for this slate and there's almost no way around it. The funny thing is, none of the expensive pitchers are necessarily fantastic deals, but I think you need to pay for the raw points regardless. The middle tier of pitching is pretty gross so fitting the big salaries into your lineups is important. Bumgarner faces a Braves' team ranked 26th in the league against lefty pitching on the season. They are a weak hitting bunch with no real righty power bat to speak of. Madison continues doing pretty much what he goes out and does every single season. He's striking out more than a batter an inning, limiting the walks and the xFIP is under three. He's just this kind of pitcher. And by "this kind of pitcher" I mean "a really damn good pitcher". The tag will cost you, but there's enough savings in an among the bats to make it happen. Matt Harvey - FD 10900 DK 11000 Victiv Yahoo 52 Opponent- Mia (Phelps) R Park- @Mia It's been a rather disappointing season for Harvey coming back from injury as he's struggled at times with command. The numbers are still good mind you, it's just that you...
