Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo and Victiv 8/14/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo and Victiv 8/14/15 This is a massive slate with a ton of rough pitching, a Padres' trip to Coors and a million things in between. I'll highlight some of the better values, but it's nearly impossible to set all of the plays straight with these parameters. That being said, you know this is always a good place to start. Pitchers Max Scherzer - FD 11400 DK 14600 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- SF (Cain) R Park- @SF There are two stud pitchers going on this massive slate and the way they are priced offers some nice natural hedging. To start, on FanDuel I'll take Scherzer who comes in just a hair below Kluber. Scherzer's an ace's ace and has put together a season worthy of his huge contract. He's striking out close to eleven batters per nine and walking less than two. The 2.87 xFIP is of course elite and he's in contention just about every time he touches the mound. The problem with Scherzer today is the matchup with the Giants isn't necessarily ideal. They rank among the best teams in the league against righty pitching and don't strike out a lot. I'm avoiding Scherzer on DraftKings where I think the price is too cost prohibitive. But on FanDuel I will play him and save just a few dollars over Kluber (who I'll have over there as well too). Corey Kluber - FD 12000 DK 10600 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Min (May) R Park- @Min He hasn't been the most consistent pitcher in baseball, but he's been one of the best nevertheless. He, Scherzer and Kershaw are one, two, three in terms of WAR this year. Kluber's just gotten there a little more haphazardly. Some of the stinkers have been what's kept the price in check and he's a must start for me on DraftKings today. That he's the fourth highest pitcher on the board seems nuts (though I know there are other good arms going). Kluber faces a Twins team ranked in the bottom third of the league against righties and are striking out close to 21% of the time in that split. Kluber's a favorite for the win and is able to work in a nice pitcher's park that depresses power to lefties especially. Like I said, it's close for me between Kluber and Scherzer on FanDuel, but Kluber is a lock at that price on DK. Robbie Ray -...

Pitchers Early Slate Noah Syndergaard - FD 11000 DK 11100 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Col (Butler) R Park- @Nym If there's one thing the Rockies have shown lately, it's that they stink. They've been manhandled of late by opposing pitchers and could be in for more of the same in this game. Last night deGrom put on a clinic against Colorado and I like Syndergaard going against them today. They are a weaker unit that really drops off a cliff after about the fourth batter, and really before that they're no great shakes. Thor's striking out close to 10 batters per nine and has limited the walks in his rookie season. He's a big favorite to win today against Eddie Butler and the strike out numbers could come fast and furious. He's expensive on FanDuel but he appears by far the safest bet considering park and opponent. Consider Jon Lester in tournaments Late Slate There are three interesting options on this slate, all coming moderately priced. I can come up with positives and negatives for each of them. But if I have to pick a lane, I'll go with: Francisco Liriano - FD 9700 DK 11000 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Stl (Lynn) R Park- @StL He's coming at a nice discount on FanDuel and I'll take him at his price point on the other sites as well. Liriano's been a borderline stud this season but after a few subpar outings (against two above average teams against lefties) Liriano has seen a price drop. It's time to buy. The Cardinals are one of the worst teams in the league against lefty pitching this season. They're striking out more than 24% of the time in this split and a majority of their quality bats (Carpenter, Wong, Heyward) are significantly worse against lefty pitching. Liriano's striking out more than ten batters per nine this season with a sub three xFIP. With the three big pitchers at the same price point, I'm taking Liriano. Consider Stephen Strasburg as an upside tournament play By the way - we were reached out to by a new site that deals with all things betting. They have a good take on daily fantasy sports rules, if you're new to the whole thing. ...

Today’s games include an early slate and a late slate of games. The early slate is a real piece of work, so I’m personally going to stay away from it. If you’re feeling extra courageous we’ve got a couple picks for the early slate, but I’ll be focusing most of my attention to the late slate of games. Pitchers Early Slate Chris Heston - FD 7400 DK 9000 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Hou (Feldman) R Park- @SF The early slate of pitching is something awful today as there are no truly reliable pitching options to lean on. If I had to put my money on someone (which I’m not for full disclosure) it would have to be on Chris Heston. His strikeout numbers aren’t going to blow anyone away, but he will be helped by the Astro’s second highest strikeout rate against righties. Heston also possesses a solid xFIP and a really high GB rate of almost 56%. This is far from a slam-dunk as the Astro’s are an above average hitting team against righties, but the rest of the slate is just that bad that I would take my chances with Heston and load up on hitters. Strongly consider James Shields Late Slate Clayton Kershaw - FD 13000 DK 14200 Victiv Yahoo 70 Opponent- Was (Zimmermann) R Park- @Lad Finally, some decent pitching options! Now I know he’s extremely pricey and I know he got beat up a bit in his last outing, but I really like Kershaw against the Nationals. Kershaw has had some stellar games this year, and he’s been even more dominant than usual at home. I won’t pretend that the Nationals aren’t a formidable team, but the last time he faced them he struck out 14 over 8 scoreless innings. For 50/50’s and double-ups, I’m going with the former Cy Young winner to give me a solid score with the potential for another 10+ K gem. Jacob deGrom - FD 11300 DK 11400 Victiv Yahoo 54 Opponent- Col (de la Rosa) L Park- @Nym I have a feeling that spending up on pitching is going to be a common theme for the late slate, so I’m sticking with the big guns here. DeGrom is arguably the best young pitcher in baseball, and possesses one of the highest K/9 ratios for starting pitchers. That...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/11/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/11/15 Full disclaimer - this is a massive slate, and there's no way I could ever possibly list every decent play today. So, I'll do my best in highlighting whom I believe to be the elite plays. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo. Pitchers Madison Bumgarner - FD 11900 DK 11100 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Hou (Kazmir) L Park- @SF Matt Harvey - FD 11200 DK 10900 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Col (Rusin) L Park- @Nym It feels a little bit like a cop-out to give you both of these guys at the top of the list, but give me a moment to explain. Our projection system thinks they're basically a coin flip, and I tend to agree. The Rockies can hit right handed pitching, and the Astros can hit left handed pitching. But both of them strike out a phenomenal amount of time (on the road for the Rockies, against lefties for the Astros). Both of these games are in good pitcher's parks, though San Francisco is a significantly better pitching environment even than Citi Field. On the other hand, Harvey seems much more likely to get a win against Rusin than Bumgarner is against Kazmir. What tips the scales toward Bumgarner, for me, is simply that he's a better pitcher. He strikes out more guys, and his xFIP is .30 runs better than Harvey's. Still, though, I can picture playing either here, and didn't want to overstate the case in either direction. A reasonably 50/50 strategy would be to play basically the same lineups and go half and half. Taylor Jungmann - FD 8400 DK 8700 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Chc (Haren) R Park- @ChC If you're looking to cut in a different direction in a big tournament, consider Taylor Jungmann. He's significantly less off the radar than he was before his last start, but our projection system has been something of a believer (at least on these prices) for a while. He's a strong ground-ball pitcher who's managed the wildness he showed in the minors significantly, and has put together a few very high end starts in the last month or so. And really, there's no higher upside match-up than taking a righty against the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs have struck out in an unreal 24.3% of their plate appearances against right handed pitching this season, the very highest number in the league, and the Dan Haren bubble has been in the process...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/10/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/10/15 It's a nice small Monday slate after a huge weekend. A good time to catch your breath, and cash in on great values where the mistakes your opponents make will be larger. That said, it's still going to be impossible to give you every single play that our projection system likes. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Pitchers Chris Sale - FD 11100 DK 12000 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- LAA (Shoemaker) R Park- @Cws Tonight's slate is a very interesting one for pitchers. I'll start by saying that on a points per dollar basis, Sale's projection is about as low as I like to see when targeting a big money pitcher on a given slate. The question is - if you don't take Sale, who are you going with in your double-ups? I think there are a few interesting cheaper options, but it might be hard to get the rest of your money in in a safe way. And this is after two pretty disastrous starts for the White Sox ace. So what gives? Well, in spite of the Angels possessing a few huge right handed bats, they've actually been pretty crappy against left handed pitching this season. Their .299 wOBA against lefties ranks 22nd in the majors, and outside of Mike Trout, they really don't have another hitter that's been better than league average for their position against lefties. This ought to make it a pretty high floor match-up for Sale, even if his upside is limited by the Angels' resistance to striking out. Rubby De La Rosa - FD 7100 DK 7500 Victiv Yahoo Opponent- Phi (Harang) R Park- @Ari If you're interested in an off-beat punt for your tournaments, consider Rubby. Sure, he's got a bizarre first name, but I'll ask you to look past that for a moment. The 26 year old righty has upped his K% while decreasing his BB%, and if it weren't for a random doubling of his home run to fly ball rate, he'd probably be closer to the mid-threes in ERA, as opposed to the mid 4s where he sits now. Is he an ace? Oh, no. He ain't. But in three of his last 10 starts, he's put up 16 or more fantasy points on FanDuel, which is upside you'll take from a guy at his salary. As for the match-up, you can certainly call it favorable. The Phils have the 2nd lowest...
