Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/7/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/7/15 Labor Day is here! Kids up here in the Northeast are headed back to school (suckers), and we get a full slate of Monday baseball to watch while trying to piece together exactly what we're supposed to be celebrating on Labor Day, anyway. To that end, this really is a huge slate of baseball. I'll give you a few great plays for the day, but there's no way I could get to every playable guy with any sort of reasonable analysis. If you want point projections for individual players? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Max Scherzer - FD 10800 DK 12400 Victiv Opponent- NYM (Niese) L Park- @Was This is just a phenomenal value spot for your 50/50s and double-ups. Max hasn't had a win since July, which has greatly depressed his price compared to the kind of pitching he's capable of. This is a good thing for us daily fantasy baseball players. Scherzer is an ace's ace for fantasy purposes - his 10.71 K/9 is the fourth best in the majors among qualified starters, and his 2.96 xFIP is good for 8th. He'll also face the Mets, who, in spite of their recent successes, have still been generally bad against right handed pitching all season. They have the 7th lowest wOBA vs. righties, and are in the top half of the league for strikeout percentage as well. Scherzer's priced as something just under a top tier ace, making him a tremendous value for your 50/50s and double-ups today. Michael Wacha - FD 9400 DK 10300 Victiv Opponent- Chc (Haren) R Park- @Stl Wacha had been one of the most consistent daily fantasy performers for a good stretch before missing a start to get a little rest as we head into September. Well, this is a nice match-up to walk back into. The Cubs have struck out an astronomical 24% of the time (just .1% off the league leading Astros), and have also been worse on the road by any offensive metric. They'll also be trotting out Dan Haren - a shell of his former self, who is sporting the league's 6th worst xFIP. If for some reason you decide to fade Scherzer (I wouldn't), I think Wacha makes for an interesting 50/50 play, but really I think there's a lot of upside here for any format given the opponent. Michael Pineda - FD 8600 DK 8400 Victiv Opponent-...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/6/15 Happy continued weekend! Hope your Labor Day is filled with meat, drinks, family, and checking your phone constantly while absentmindedly giving verbal clues to feign interest in whatever they are talking about that doesn't have to do with sports. Me? I'll be DFSing this thing. Let's get to it. By the way - like all Sundays, this is a huge slate. I'll never be able to give you all of the acceptable plays you might be able to trot out there in various formats today. I'll give you the guys I like best, but our projection system has a lot more answers than I do. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Dallas Keuchel - FD 11200 DK 12500 Victiv Opponent- Min (Duffey) R Park- @Hou I've been sitting here for 30 minutes trying to figure out who to give as the headlining play today, and it's sort of been torture. In the interest of full disclosure, our system likes Johnny Cueto better than Keuchel among the top tier guys. I happen to think it's a little bearish on Keuchel, and it likes Cueto a little too much based on last year's strike-out percentage. Keuchel's got the third best xFIP in the majors, and while he also isn't an first tier K guy, he generates ground-balls at the second highest rate in the major leagues. In practice, this leads to very few terrible games for him, and quite a few terrific ones where he pitches deep in games on low pitch counts. There's nothing great about this match-up with the Twins - they're basically league average against left handed pitching, and fairly tough to strike out. This a bit of faith in Keuchel - here's to hoping it's well placed. Gerrit Cole - FD 9400 DK 11000 Victiv Opponent- STL (Lackey) R Park- @StL Ugh, we're left with a lack of fantastic options at every price point tonight, it seems. Cole has had some real stinkers recently, but in the absence of injury news, we have to trust that it's just baseball being baseball, and little else. So that means that instead of being scared, we should view this as a buying opportunity. You're convinced, right? Me too? Okay, let's give some context. First of all, Cole really has been excellent this season. His 3.15 xFIP is 11th best in the majors, he's in the top...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/5/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/5/15 Well, well, well. It's a massive double-slate Saturday, which means an incredible amount of plays for us to choose from. I'll do my best to give you a couple of plays per position for each slate, but there's no way I'll be able to tackle every single guy that would be a good play today. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Early Slate Jake Arrieta - FD 11700 DK 13500 Victiv Opponent- Ari (Ray) L Park- @Chc For such a big day, there's precious little really safe pitching today. At least from our projection system's perspective. For the early slate, though, Arrieta is as close as it gets. First of all, Arrieta should need no introduction at this point. He's got a 2.74 xFIP over the last two seasons, which is good for the four best in the major leagues. He strikes out better than a guy an inning, and is a ground-ball machine. All good stuff. His match-up with the Diamondbacks is sort of a mixed blessing. One on hand, they've struck out at the 11th highest rate in the majors against right handed pitching this season. On the other, hand, they also have the 11th highest wOBA against righties. I'd say they're a net positive match-up when they're away from home, as is the case here. Arrieta is also facing off against Robbie Ray, a below league average pitcher with a 4.15 xFIP on the season. Arrieta's also been crushing recently - scoring an average of 20 FanDuel fantasy points per game in his last 3 starts. Love him for cash games, even at these prices. Jaime Garcia - FD 9000 DK 9600 Victiv Opponent- Pit (Morton) R Park- @Stl If you want to stick your neck out a little bit, consider Jaime Garcia. He's sort of a poor man's Arrieta. He doesn't have the same K rate for sure, but his extreme ground-ball tendencies really raise his floor. Oddly, the Pirates are almost exactly the same against lefties that the D-Backs are against righties - they have the 12th highest K rate, and the 13th highest wOBA. Morton is very stinker prone, and it's a good spot for Jaime to grab a W. Still, Garcia is also somewhat blow-up prone as well. I like this play if you're trying to go against the grain in the early slate. Late Slate Felix Hernandez...

Pitchers Jacob deGrom - FD 11800 DK 11400 Victiv Opponent- Mia (Koehler) R Park- @Mia Our system doesn't love him from a points per dollar standpoint, but it's hard to argue with deGrom on this slate. The Marlins are the equivalent of a little league team against righties (albeit a little league team that would like, win a bunch of games, but whatever) and are such a weak hitting bunch. This game is going off in Miami, a pitcher's haven and deGrom's been a borderline elite pitcher this season. He's striking out more than a batter and a half per inning and rocking a sub 3.00 xFIP. Again, this is a steep price to pay for deGrom, but with so much value among the bats it shouldn't be a big issue paying a premium here. James Shields - FD 8800 DK 8700 Victiv Opponent- LAD (Bolsinger) R Park- @Sd He's on the cheaper side of things and while I don't think he's on the same safety level of maybe a guy like deGrom. Shields still sports a close-to-elite 9.67 K/9 rate though he does give up a few too many walks. Two of his last three games have been more like it for the guy and while he's playing a Dodgers' team that's performed well against righties this season, they've struggled of late. Shields is more a tournament play than anything because he for sure has downside especially considering the amount of home runs he's given up this season. But the ballpark does help him and I like the price here. Catchers Catcher feels like a moderate disaster today. Salvador Perez - FD 2400 DK 3400 Victiv 4500 Opponent- CWS (Danks) L Park- @KC This more about targeting a weaker arm than it is about any real love for a guy like Perez. Dude's never going to a have a high BABIP because he runs as fast as my daughter when she was two. But even for his slow self, Perez has run bad. Again, this is a price point play considering Danks is a rough shout when it comes to getting outs with a mid 4's xFIP and lower K rate. Perez won't cost and you can worry about hits from other, real positions. Yan Gomes - FD 2600 DK 3500 Victiv 5100 Opponent- Det (Lobstein) L Park- @Det Speaking of players who I don't want to...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/3/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/3/15 Oooooh, a juicy little short slate today. Some people are scared of short slates. "Where are all the options?" they say. "There aren't good enough players!" they say. Hogwash. We don't need great plays in a vacuum to crush a short slate - we just need plays better than the competition. In a lot of ways, that makes short slates some of the very most profitable. Even still - we'll never be able to give you every single play on even a short slate like this. If you want the rest of our top plays? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Jordan Zimmermann - FD 9300 DK 10400 Victiv Opponent- Atl (Wisler) R Park- @Was Well, it's a pretty short slate. Have I mentioned that? I waffled back and forth between Zimmermann and Liriano for the top slot here, and so I'll cop out on you a little bit. I like Liriano in terms of raw point-total upside, but actually prefer Zimmermann for safety. A few reasons. The first is price. On short slates, it's a heck of a lot tougher to find really good value at every price point. To that end, Zimmermann's relatively low price means greater flexibility for your other positions. The other big thing in play here is the match-up. The Braves don't strike out a ton, but they still have the third lowest wOBA in the majors against right handed pitching. And, frankly, Liriano has kinda sucked recently. For my cash game purposes, I'll be looking at the big Zimm. Mat Latos - FD 6200 DK 7300 Victiv Opponent- SD (Rea) R Park- @SD Oh, baby. We're this far off board and it's only the second player recommended. So, in case it isn't obvious, Latos is probably not a guy I'd dive right in and start in a 50/50. But I mean, there is kind of a lot to like here. First of all, Latos himself has been better than his ERA suggests. His 3.71 xFIP is above league average, and his K% is approaching his 2013 levels. And then there's the match-up. This one is truly a dream - the Padres themselves have the 8th highest K% in the majors, and the 4th lowest wOBA against right handed pitching. That takes into account their whole track record - they're even worse at home. He's also up against Colin Rea, who just isn't a major...
