A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Danny Salazar, Kyle Hendricks, Noah Syndergaard and Zack Greinke in the Early Main Article and Main Article. And will be going over a few more options below. Michael Pineda FD 7600 DK 8500 Opponent - TB (Moore) Park - @TBFD - 33.81 DK - 19.13 Oh Pineda, welcome to my lineups. Please don't let me down. You have a beautiful matchup going up against the Tampa Bay Rays, but the best part about your matchup today, is the fact that this game will take place at Tropicana Field. You got this Pineda! I believe in you. (Just for today). On a series note-- Pineda has a nice matchup going up against the Rays. They own a .305 wOBA (22nd in MLB) to go along with a 95 wRC+ (17th in MLB) against right-handed pitching. These guys rely heavily on the long ball, which gives Pineda and his 45.4 GB% an advantage. And the best part about Pineda will be his ownership. Many people will see that he owns a 6.34 ERA and be on full-fade mode....

Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Jose Fernandez and Matt Wisler in the Main Article, and will be going over a few more options below. Early Slate Gerrit Cole FD 10100 DK 9900 Opponent - ARI (Corbin) Park - @PIT FD - 38.12 DK - 20.44 Jose Fernandez will be the "chalk" of today's slate (and should be on your rosters), but I like Gerrit Cole as a SP2 option. He will be going up against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight, which isn't the best of matchups for Cole, as the Diamondbacks own a 97 wRC+ (14th in MLB) against right-handed pitching. The matchup might not be all that, but I love his chances of picking up the win. The Pirates are entering this contest as -170 favorites. They will be going up against southpaw Robbie Ray today, so look for them to back up Cole with some runs. I know the weather is looking bad (7 AM ET as I am writing this article), so if weather does not get any better -- I would go with Drew Smyly (cash games) and J.A. Happ...

You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.   Stack Targets   Early Slate Toronto Blue Jays vs. CC Sabathia (Yankees) The early slate is a little short, but if you're into that type of thing I can't see how you would be able to pass up a Blue Jays stack against a lefty in one of the best hitters parks in all of baseball. Sabathia has some pretty decent numbers this season, but he's also benefitted from some unsustainably good run (check the main article to read Brent's breakdown). Not to mention that he's been significantly worse this season in the hitters haven that is Yankee Stadium. So moving on to the hitters for Toronto, there isn't much surprise as to who you should target for this stack. The usual suspects such as Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, and Jose Bautista are definitely in play, as well as cheaper options such as Russell Martin, Justin Smoak, and Devon Travis (who believe it or not is hitting .322 with an OPS of .958 vs lefties in 63 career PA). If you want to pay up for Fernandez it might be...

Pitching Targets Note: We discussed David Price and Chris Sale in the Main Article, and will be going over a few more options below. Stephen Strasburg FD 10600 DK 13400 Opponent - NYM (Harvey) Park - @WSHFD - 38.76 DK - 21.58 On a night with Chris Sale pitching, Strasburg's ownership percentages will be down, which is great for tournaments. He will be going up against the Mets, who just loss Lucas Duda and have been struggling in the month of May. They own a 89 wRC+ (22nd in MLB) and .299 OBP (24th in MLB). I rarely talk about on-base percentages, but [wow], a .299 OBP is just awful. Not only are the Mets struggling to get on base and creating runs, but they are also striking out a ton! They own a whooping 25.3 K% (3rd in MLB), and things won't get any better going up against the Stras-inator tonight! The Stras-inator on the other hand, has been killin' it! He owns a 2.29 FIP, to go along with a 30.9 K%. I won't list all of his numbers (even thought...

You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.   Stack Targets   New York Yankees vs. R.A. Dickey (Blue Jays) I really like the matchup the Yankees have today against R.A. Dickey, especially in the hitter friendly Yankee Stadium. Dickey is in the twilight of his career, and his age is certainly causing a decline in production. His struggles this season are largely due to his lack of success against left-handed hitters (something the Yankees have plenty of), as evidenced by his xFIP of 5.07, BB/9 rate of 4.64, and the fact that his fly ball % and ground ball % are exactly the same (40%). This last part is especially important because the ball tends to carry quite a bit to right field at Yankee Stadium, so I could definitely see a couple of balls ending up in the bleachers tonight. For this stack our projection system likes guys like Brian McCann, Jacoby Ellsbury, Carlos Beltran, Brett Gardner and Dustin Ackley (it also likes Teixeira but I'm not sold on him). I think Ackley in particular provides some serious upside given how low his price tag is...
