Quick Note: As always, dudes playing in Coors are in play thanks to the boost in power expectation. But the sites have gotten wise to this and have price-corrected many of them. I put some specific guys in the list who stand out. But overall, the Padres righties and top of the order for the Rockies are very much in play. You just need to really pay up for them. Pitcher As gross a pitching slate as you're likely to ever see. A.J. Burnett - FD 7000 DK 8200 DFSTR 6500 He's been racking up the K's in his first two starts, striking out close to 12 batters per nine innings. Burnett can have control issues, but his first two go arounds have seen him limiting the walks. That's a good, early sign. The Cubs strike out almost 24% of the time against right-handed pitching and have a bunch of free swingers in their lineup. Burnett is coming real cheap all things considered. And though the matchup against Arrieta could make getting a win tough, the matchup and K upside dictates a play here. Hisashi Iwakuma - FD 8300 DK 8800 DFSTR 7200 First two starts have been nothing to write home about (assuming he does that, probably uses email or maybe it's just a FaceTime thing) but on such a gross slate you have to pitch somebody (or two guys). In his 11 innings this season his xFIP is much better than his ERA so there's some run bad in there. And he's run bad with home runs early too. The season is just getting started so I don't buy too much on recent performance unless something it really wrong. That isn't the case with Iwakuma. The Astros strike out a ton against righties, a number that's carried over from last season. The ballpark really helps as well as Safeco depresses power all the way around. On an ugly slate he rates out near the top in points per dollar from the bump. Catcher Derek Norris - FD 2800 DK 3800 DFSTR 5900 He's heading into Coors at a very reasonable price. If he's going be batting high in the order then there's a lot to love about Norris as a play today. He hammered lefties last season with 148 wRC+ and .843 OPS on that side of the split. I think we are all well aware of what happens...

We have our general picks for Week 12 as well as our weekly Podcast. Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls Quarterback Phillip Rivers - $6000 One thing I really like about Draftster, as opposed to some of the other salary cap sites is the pricing adjustments on a week-to-week basis. As James mentioned on our podcast this week, an issue with some of the bigger sites is that prices will climb based on a good game, but rarely correct the other way when a guy comes back to Earth. Not so with Draftster as their pricing formula is more prone to swings. I like it for this reason as we are able to put together some truly different squads together and get exposure to players we wouldn’t on other sites. Rivers is a great example of this. He is coming off one dreadful game against the Dolphins and a so-so game last week against the Raiders. Now granted, the Rams have proven (to some degree) that they can handle big name quarterbacks (looking at you Peyton) but at 6K Rivers simply needs to have an average game. The Chargers will throw thirty times or more in a game if the opportunity is there and more than any other quarterback this week on Draftster, Rivers has the chance to completely blow away his salary. And I even think he is rather safe at this price. Drew Brees - $7300 If you want to go a little safer without sacrificing too much on the salary end, then I think slotting in Brees is a perfectly plausible way to go. He sits priced underneath some of the big boys (Manning,...

A peek ahead at week 10 Looking for the week 10 picks? Follow the link! I go position by position and give you whom I believe to be the best plays, dollar for dollar, for Week 8's games. This article is going to be a little bit different. Instead, I'm going to focus on particular lineup formation strategies that might help you get some separation from the field and get those value plays and sleepers that will let you spend money elsewhere while cashing in for cheap. Sleepers Weekly disclaimer: The whole concept of a sleeper in one week fantasy football games needs to be adjusted. First of all, there's no real such thing as a "sleeper," in that you're not really going to sleep on a guy until he wakes up. What you're looking at with cheap plays are guys who are priced very reasonably who could go off if all things break right. Sniffing out the best cheap plays with upside is really the only way to have a chance in hell at taking down some of these utterly massive NFL tournaments. You'll pay up for the big names, and then hope your bargain plays pay off. That's where we come in - here are some sleepers that we love for Week 10. A note on week 10 Bye week hell, part three has us left with very little in the way of great cheap options this week. A lot of cheap options, like Bobby Rainey, or Denard Robinson, can hardly be called "sleepers" at this point. So this will be more value plays than true sleepers. We cool? Let's do it. Mark Sanchez - FD 6600 DK 5400 DD 11500 DFSTR 5100 Really far from a sleeper here, given how he picked up the pieces after Foles' injury last week. Let's be real - there is a LOT not...

It's the simplest daily fantasy football game in the world, and it might be your best bet to cash in without trying to do a ton of research. Want to take us on the go? How about the week 9 podcast instead? Quarterbacks Andrew Luck - FD 10100 DK 10000 DD 17300 DFSTR After coming off a game with a rather ugly completion rate and 2 interceptions, you might be surprised to see Luck in the top spot. But the case for Luck? Simple volume. With Richardson banged up, the Colts only ran 7 plays that didn't go through Luck. 7! Granted, they were playing from behind, and that's not especially likely against the Giants -- but still. We're seeing that the Colts are happy to supplant a conventional running game for short passes to the resurgent Bradshaw, and if that continues, Luck will continue to be the safest QB in all of daily fantasy football. Colin Kaepernick -...
Daily Fantasy Football Picks for Week 8 – FanDuel, DraftKings, Draftday, and Draftster
Daily Fantasy Football Picks for Week 8 - FanDuel, DraftKings, Draftday, and Draftster A very weird week in the NFL which had me simultaneously rooting for and against Le'Veon Bell on Monday - ultimately cashing 95% of my cash games and 5% of my GPPs. I feel both gross and great, somehow. I'll stop my ruminating. On to the picks! It's the simplest daily fantasy football game in the world, and it might be your best bet to cash in without trying to do a ton of research. Last thing! The week 8 podcast is live. Hope you enjoy it! Quarterbacks Andrew Luck - FD 9900 DK 8800 DD 16300 DFSTR 9000 An off week for Luck compared to what we've gotten used to, but an off week for the game's best fantasy quarterback still looks like 300+ yards and 2 touch downs. Luck easily has the lowest floor of any QB this side of Peyton Manning, and he also has the transcendent ceiling to go with it. Now he's the Steel Curtain, which has been parted by such fearsome opposing QBs as Brian Hoyer and Mike Glennon this season. I especially like Luck here given the lack of the effectiveness of the Colts' running...
