Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/21/15 After an insane football weekend, I have to be real with you for a second - it feels good to kick back, watch some Seahawks/Packers, and write up a nice, short slate. Long time readers of Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings know that we actually love small slates. Fewer choices mean the difference in choosing the best guy or the third best guy is a lot bigger than it would be on a full weekend slate, and this pushes the advantage sharply toward the expert players. Even on a short slate like this, though, we'll never be able to nail every single reasonable play. If you want maximum diversity for your lineups tomorrow, go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. And while MLB and NFL season overlap, they're all available to you at one low price! Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Gio Gonzalez - FD 9600 DK 9600 StarsDraft Opponent- Bal (Jimenez) R Park- @Was There are three true aces going today, and none of them are Gio Gonzalez. "Why," you might be wondering, "aren't they listed atop these pitcher rankings instead?" I'll give you the short of it - they all have pretty awful match-ups. If I had to choose between Price, Keuchel, and Archer, our projection system seems to like Dallas Keuchel best. I may wind up doing that in cash games, if I like how the rest of lineup comes together around the pitcher position. But for the most part, I'm going to start by building lineups around Gio Gonzalez. The fiery Nationals left-hander has been fairly erratic this season, but recently, we've gotten a heavy dose of good Gio. He's got 26 Ks and 9 walks in 18 September innings this season, and two 20+ FanDuel fantasy point performances in there as well. That doesn't necessarily outweigh a season of generally sucking, but our projection system weighs more heavily who it thinks Gio is rather than who he's been recently, and it still likes him best among the more expensive guys. The main reason is his match-up. The Orioles have the 3rd highest strikeout rate and the 6th lowest wOBA in the majors against left handed pitching, largely on the back of the fact that their biggest bats (Davis and Jones) have rather large platoon splits the other way. This one might feel more like a tournament play, but I'll start by building 50/50 lineups around him as well. Jason Hammel - FD...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/20/15 If you're here, you're either a guy (or gal!) who can't get enough action in on a football Sunday, or you're a daily fantasy baseball diehard. Or you're both, like me. Still, we have a lot of football prep going on here (we're mostly preparing for another huge overlay on DraftPot), so today's article will be a little briefer than some others. Still, I'll give you a few great plays at each position that you can build around, and of course you can always grab a free three day trial of our projection system for FanDuel & DraftKings that offers projections for every player for both MLB and the NFL. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Stephen Strasburg - FD 10700 DK 10400 StarsDraft Opponent- Mia (Nicolino) L Park- @Was Regular DFSR readers will know that we've been on Strasburg ever since he returned from injury and it was clear that his peripherals were returning to pre-injury levels. That's worked out well in the last two starts. Unfortunately, really regular readers will recall that I recommended Strasburg against these same Marlins a couple of weeks ago, and it was a disaster. That's baseball, folks. It's not always going to work out. On the whole, Strasburg has been absolutely lights out in August and September (a 10.58 K/9 in August, and a ridiculous 15.85 K/9 in September). And the fact remains, the Marlins have still been the very worst team in the majors against right handed pitching this season, sporting a league worst .292 wOBA when facing a righty. And, blessedly, he'll be up against the terrible Justin Nicolino (more on him coming later, rest assured), which means a win is even more likely than usual. Love Stras in any format on these prices, to be honest. Huge gap Listen - it's really tough to imagine going away from Stras today for safety purposes. There are a few fliers you could take - it thinks CC Sabathia has some upside against the Mets, for instance, and thinks you might be able to roll the dice on Julio Teheran, but those are strictly big tournament plays from where I'm sitting. If you want to go against the grain in the big money department, though, there is one somewhat interesting match-up... Jon Lester - FD 10700 DK 10300 StarsDraft Opponent- Stl (Martinez) R Park- @Chc Carlos Martinez - FD 9500 DK 9300 StarsDraft Opponent- CHC (Lester) L Park- @ChC Our system actually kinda likes both of these today, for different reasons. For Martinez, it's pretty much just an upside play. The Cubs are in the top half...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/19/15 Massive double slate, y'all! Today is a positively huge day of baseball - perfect for junkies who want to sweat multiple daily fantasy sports at the same time. Presumably you've grabbed a cheat-sheet from our college football expert, Casey. So that much is taken care of. After that, you're going to want some baseball information as well. Let's be real for one quick second - there's no way I am going to be able to write up every single guy across two big slates. I'll do my best to give you a couple of great plays in each spot, but if you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Early Slate Michael Wacha - FD 8900 DK 9800 StarsDraft Opponent- Chc (Wood) L Park- @ChC Wacha, Wacha, Wacha. For such a big day, it's a pretty tough slate to grab a big name, big dollar pitcher. Wacha is a pretty interesting guy, because he's been the picture of consistency for quite a while. In his last 5 starts, he scores exactly 12 or 13 fantasy points on FanDuel in 4 of them. The other one? Well, he got blown up by these same Cubs that he'll face today. To be honest, that's going to happen against the Cubs from time to time. They're in the top half of the league in terms of wOBA against right handed pitching, and have some guys who can pile up the runs in a hurry. So why is Wacha topping these picks today? The Cubs' K%. Their 24.1% K rate against right handed pitching is the very highest in all the land, and that makes them a team that pitchers have put together some huge days against. Yes, this could be a blow-up start for sure - but I'd submit that the upside potential outweighs the downside risk, and that Wacha is worth a shot in all formats. Patrick Corbin - FD 6900 DK 9700 StarsDraft Opponent- SF (Leake) R Park- @SF We gave you Corbin as a punt play when he faced the Giants two starts ago, and he went out and tossed a fantasy gem - throwing 6 innings of 5 hit ball with 5 strikeouts and no walks. And that was in his dangerous home hitter's park! Well, today he'll face these same Giants in the much more pitcher friendly AT&T park. He'll also be up against Mike Leake...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, StarsDraft and DraftPot 9/18/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, StarsDraft and DraftPot 9/18/15 There are a ton of big arms going today. You'll want to notice the difference between the FanDuel and DraftKings pricing. But we've got you covered with MLB plays for the big Friday slate. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Max Scherzer - FD 11000 DK 12100 StarsDraft Opponent- Mia (Fernandez) R Park- @Was He hasn't been Mr. Consistency this season, but the numbers over the long term are excellent. Scherzer's struck out 10.5 batters per nine on the season while walking less than two. Because he lives in the strike zone so much, he'll get hit from time to time. But these numbers are just about the best in the league. The 3.01 xFIP sits just outside the upper tier of pitchers on the season. Today he's facing a Marlin team ranked dead last in the league against righties. They are a light-hitting bunch with almost no pop in the lineup. I don't think Scherzer is cost prohibitive considering the competition and he'll make an easy cas game start. The -140 ML is a little concerning, but it's only because Jose Fernandez is facing him. Drew Smyly - FD 7700 DK 9400 StarsDraft Opponent- Bal (Wilson) R Park- @TB A little expensive on DraftKings, but on FanDuel he's the kind of midrange arm you can sink your teeth into (not literally, I imagine he's be pissed if you did that to him). In nine starts this season Smyly's striking out more than 10 batters per nine and rocking an xFIP in the low 3's. Those are excellent numbers for anyone, but at a $7700 price tag they look even nicer. The Orioles are a below average team against lefties on the season and the ballpark really helps Smyly's case as it depresses power all around. Masahiro Tanaka - FD 9600 DK 10800 StarsDraft Opponent- NYM (Matz) L Park- @NYM He's put together a couple of nice games in a row and though he's not an elite K guy, he limits the downside by rarely walking anyone. Now, like Scherer to some degree, Tanaka's life around the strike zone can get him in trouble. He'll also run some counts long that will get the pitch count up there early. I know it isn't sexy to pick a guy against the Mets right now, what with their other-worldly performance of late. But I like the...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, StarsDraft and DraftPot 9/17/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, StarsDraft and DraftPot 8/21/15 Not all daily fantasy baseball slates are created the same. And today you've got two mini ones going. There are some interesting price differences on DraftKings and FanDuel. But we've got you covered with our picks. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Corey Kluber - FD 11000 DK 12300 StarsDraft Opponent- KC (Ventura) R Park- @Cle Know this: he isn't a great points per dollar play on this slate. Dude's expensive and the Royals are a top ten team against righties this season. To boot, they don't strike out at all. That makes the margins on Kluber very small and he needs a lot to go right in order to hit any kind of value. The flip side is the rest of the slate's pitching is hot garbage and you are left with some very awkward decisions coming off the bump. From a raw points expectation he is the highest, but it comes at a cost. And like I said, it's a tad risky. Kluber's peripherals this seasons are fantastic with a K rate close to 10 per nine and walks rate under two. His 3.01 xFIP is close to elite and he's obviously one of the best pitchers in baseball. I just don't like the matchup. Chris Tillman - FD 6800 DK 5400 StarsDraft Opponent- TB (Moore) L Park- @TB I'm putting him on here strictly as a system cost play. Tillman is mediocre at best, bad at worst. But he has a couple of things going for him on this slate. One, he's cheap so you can load up on bats across the board. He's facing a Rays' team ranked 25th in the league against righties on the year and have very little when it comes to lefty pop. Plus Tillman is going in one of the best pitcher's parks in baseball. Again, dude's far from lights out and there's a reason I'm not using his actual stats to make a case here. But on a day in which pitching makes me a little nauseous, you might need to take a chance or two. Early Slate Special - Charlie Morton Catchers John Jaso - FD 2200 DK 2500 StarsDraft 3800 Opponent- Bal (Tillman) R Park- @TB Things I like about John Jaso: He's about the only catcher (eligible) in the league who hits leadoff for his team. This is an incredible advantage...
