We've got both an early slate and a late slate today, or as I like to call it the Dodgers and the non-Dodgers slate. But more on that in a little bit. We've been on a roll the past couple of days and I don't see any reason for it to slow down now. Time to keep it rolling with Thursday's plays. Pitchers Early Slate Madison Bumgarner - FD 12600 Bumgarner has been pretty hot as of late, and I don’t see any reason to stop rolling with him. Other than his last start against a Pittsburg team that is one of the best against lefties, Bumgarner has gone for 27, 24, and 19 on Fanduel. Now he gets a great matchup in the Chicago Cubs, who strike out more than any team in the majors against southpaw pitching. I know the Cubs have been hot as of late, but I’m looking for Bumgarner to cool them off and keep his own hot streak alive. Also consider Zack Greinke. I don’t like him as much as Bumgarner, but the pitching for the early slate is pretty abysmal other than these two. Greinke provides a little more salary relief, but doesn’t have as much upside. Late Slate Gerrit Cole - FD 10000 DK 12900 Victiv Opponent- Mia (Nicolino) L Park- @Mia Probably the safest option on the late slate comes in the form of Gerrit Cole. His salary isn’t high enough to really hurt you, and he’s got a great matchup against a Marlins team that ranks dead last in both OPS and wOBA against right-handed pitching this year. Not to mention they strikeout nearly 20% of the time against righties. The game is also in Miami, which is one of the best pitchers park the big leagues have to offer. I like Cole in all formats, but particularly in the cash games where you’ll need a solid pitching performance. Carlos Rodon - FD 8300 DK 9800 Victiv Opponent- Sea (Elias) L Park- @Cws Your cheaper, high upside tournament play for the evening comes in the form of Carlos Rodon. He’s either been really, really good this season, or really, really bad so I can’t say for certain which guy is going to...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 8/26/15 There were some huge offensive outbursts yesterday, and we were one a bunch of them for sure. Let's get right back at it with Wednesday's plays. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Pitchers There are some really great arms going on this slate, but none is standing heads and tails above the rest. I wish Scherzer was going here instead of getting pushed back and then things would be easy. But alas, we're stuck with what we have. There are four top end pitchers going today. I think each of them is overpriced in their own regard. But it will be awfully tough to fade all four, so here goes. Chris Sale - FD 12500 DK 13000 Victiv Opponent- Bos (Porcello) R Park- @Cws In terms of raw points, he's your guy. He's been other-worldly all seasons and the last two games has struck out 14 and 15 batters respectively. It's doesn't get much better than that. And for this kind of production you are going to need to pay in a big way. The good news is there are plenty of cheaper bats on this slate so fitting his salary isn't a total disaster. It's just that at these prices he has almost no room for error. He's facing a Red Sox team that's well above average against lefty pitching this season in one of the best hitter's parks in baseball. Of course, Sale is the kind of pitcher you can throw some of this stuff out with, but it's worth mentioning. He's a heavy favorite for the win and for the AL Cy Young Award. But there is a little buyer beware here. Chris Archer - FD 11800 DK 12800 Victiv Opponent- Min (Duffey) R Park- @TB He's coming off a complete games shut out against the K happy Astros. And now he has another nice matchup against the Twins who rank in the bottom third of the league against righties this season. Archer's put up a monster season in his own right, striking out 11 batters per nine and rocking an elite 2.67 xFIP. The AL is full of ridiculous pitching performances this season and Archer's one of them. For around the same price point, I'll still take Sale by a hair, but Archer is in a fantastic spot as well. Justin Verlander - FD 8000 DK 8200 Victiv Opponent- LAA (Santiago) L Park- @Det Been writing for his last few starts,...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 8/25/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 8/25/15 Big old Tuesday slate rocking today with some quality arms and plenty of value in the bats. Let's not waste any time with my typically hilarious and high level banter. On to the picks. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Pitchers It's an interesting day for pitching. There are some mid-tier and even very cheap guys who could well outperform their price. Stephen Strasburg - FD 10000 DK 10000 Victiv Opponent- SD (Shields) R Park- @Was James Shields - FD 8900 DK 8900 Victiv Opponent- Was (Strasburg) R Park- @Was So these guys are facing each other meaning I wouldn't necessarily advise playing them together on a site like DraftKings. But both are coming right next to each other in terms of points per dollar through our system. Shields has underperformed his contract for sure, but remains an above average pitcher who's been bitten by the long ball this season. The Nats are a middle of the pack team against righties and are prone to striking out. Shields is K-ing close to ten batters per nine though he struggles to stay in games late because of the walk rate. Mostly a price play for me here. As is Strasburg who for all his early season tilt-inducing performances, has come back and pitched decently over the last three games. Even his full-season stats don't look too bad with a strikeout an inning and a low 3's xFIP. The strand rate kills him as when he gets guys on base and pitches out of the stretch it all starts to fall apart. The Padres rank among the bottom third of the league against righty pitching. I'm definitely a fan of Stras's DK price as he makes it easy to get some bigger bats into the mix. Look, both of these guys have blow up tendencies, but mixing them into games has some upside. Noah Syndergaard - FD 10800 DK 10900 Victiv Opponent- Phi (Williams) R Park- @Phi If you got DeGrom'ed last night, count yourself in the majority of cash game players. He was a disaster for sure, getting rocked early by the Phils putting up negative points when it was all said and done. Nevertheless, we trudge on and I think Syndergaard is in play against Philly today. Thor has outstanding peripherals, striking out close to ten batters per nine and walking only two. The 3.13 xFIP has him among the better pitchers in the game....

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Victiv 8/24/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Victiv 8/24/15 Happy Monday! A nice, small slate today. While this limits our options to some degree, we find short slates to be some of the very most profitable. The reason? The difference between the good plays, mediocre plays, and bad plays is that much bigger. Even still, I'll not be able to give every single good play on even a small slate like this. So, I'll do my best in highlighting whom I believe to be the elite plays. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Victiv.   Pitchers Jacob deGrom - FD 11700 DK 12000 Victiv Opponent- Phi (Morgan) L Park- @Phi If there's a day to take off if you're looking for straight safety at the pitcher position, today might be the day. It's no slight to DeGrom - he's an excellent pitcher. His 2.98 xFIP, while it is a run higher than his 1.98 ERA, is still good for the 9th best in the majors. He's got a sparkling K rate, a stingy walk rate, and he's good at preventing the long ball. to make matters better, the Phillies really stink. Their .297 wOBA against right handed pitching is the 2nd worst in the majors. Also! Adam Morgan, the Phillies starter, really is pretty lousy. There's not a lot to complain about here... except the price. This is a lot to pay for a non Kershaw/Sale type, and really limits roster options elsewhere. Still, DeGrom is the clear 50/50 and double-up play from where I'm sitting, and I'll try to dig around for value elsewhere. Julio Teheran - FD 8500 DK 8100 Victiv Opponent- Col (de la Rosa) L Park- @Atl A huge step down from DeGrom in terms of absolute ability, but he's got some pretty solid points per dollar upside games on his track record. Teheran's taken a step back this season to be sure, but the 24 year old can still dial it up in the right match-up. I'd say this is that. While Colorado has the highest wOBA against right handed pitching in the majors this season, a lot of that has happened at home. On the road, they've got the second highest strike out rate in the majors (24.3%) and the league's 2nd lowest wOBA. Teheran can collapse on you, don't get me wrong, but there's also a chance he's the highest scorer at the position today, and he's priced in such a way that you can fit some nice...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/23/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo 8/23/15 Full disclaimer - this is a massive slate, and there's no way I could ever possibly list every decent play today. So, I'll do my best in highlighting whom I believe to be the elite plays. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings, Victiv, and Yahoo.   Pitchers Michael Wacha - FD 9200 DK 11000 Victiv Opponent- SD (Rea) R Park- @SD So, to be clear, we obviously like Clayton Kershaw best in terms of raw points projected for today's slate. And he's probably the safest option as well. But if you can't make a good lineup around Kershaw's incredibly high salary, I'd take a long look at Michael Wacha. Now, Wacha isn't a classic huge upside play. His 7.74 K/9 is nothing special, and he hasn't gone more than 7 innings in ages. So what gives? Well, first of all, the San Diego Padres give. They've got the 5th lowest wOBA and the 6th highest K% against right handed pitching this season, and are even worse than that at home. They also happen to be starting Colin Rea today. Rea had an xFIP over 4 in A+ ball last season, and was just OK in the minors in 2015. Great chance for a win, great chance for Wacha to pitch for a while, and do well along the way. I like him for any format. Clayton Kershaw - FD 13000 DK 14800 Victiv Opponent- Hou (McCullers) R Park- @Hou Yup, the big old elephant in the room every time he starts. The question is always whether or not you can afford him. I'll give you the pros and cons, and let you decide. The Astros strike out a lot against left handed pitching - their 22.9% rate is the 4th highest in the majors. They've put together the 10th highest wOBA against left handed pitching this season, but their .315 wOBA isn't terrifying or anything. Lance McCullers is a good pitcher, and a win isn't a forgone conclusion or anything. Still, the Astros' strike out rate and Kershaw's general awesomeness make him a fine cash game play, even if he's too expensive for big tournaments. Taijuan Walker - FD 6700 DK 7700 Victiv Opponent- CWS (Danks) L Park- @Sea Ah, your big tournament relief. Walker has a couple of monster starts under his belt this season, including a 23 FanDuel fantasy point performance against the Twins four starts ago. He's also got some average/bad starts. So,...
