Daily Fantasy NFL Picks for Draftpot - Week Five Welcome to the Week 5 DFS NFL picks article for Draftpot, a brand new way to play fantasy sports. Draftpot is similar to other DFS sites except there is no salary cap restrictions. They offer two separate game types(Fan Mode/GM Mode). For NFL, Fan Mode allows you to build a roster of 1 QB,2 RB,3 WR,1 TE,2 FLEX,1 K,1 DEF without salary restrictions. You can roster anyone you want. In GM Mode, you also roster the same positions but have a Drafpot Points Per Game(DPPG) cap. Each player have a PPG value attached to their name which is a reflection of their previous 16 games played. This gives a more transparent look at player value. Need other NFL Picks? If you missed out on Week 3 at DraftPot, you missed out on a large amount of overlay. Don't worry though. They are doing it again this week with their $10 entry, $100,000 Guarantee Touchdown Fan Mode tournament. It pays $10,000 to first and is bound to have more overlay again this weekend. Get in on the action while there is still time. To win a tournament in Fan Mode you won't be able to just pick the top players at their positions each week. You will need to differentiate yourself with some low ownership picks. One way I love doing this is picking good players who are coming off a bad to horrible week. Recency bias plays a huge part in...

A last second TD to Pierre Garcon (a miracle catch in its own right) helped save him for sure, but Cousins saw the volume I suspected he would against the Eagles. It's a similar situation for Cousins in this one. Cousins is an underdog in a game that should feature a fair amount of scoring. The Redskins will most likely be playing from behind, forcing Cousins to the air. The Falcons are a below average team in Defensive DVOA against the pass this season. Game flow should help Cousins get value relative to his price. Last week he completed 67% of his passes for 290 yards and a TD. A similar line in this game isn't out of the question. Blake Bortles - FD 6900 DK 5100 Starsdraft 5600 Opponent- TB Bortles is also coming cheap on DraftKings and could be in a spot to at least hit value. Remember, this isn't the "Good Quarterbacks" article so temper the hate a little bit. The Jags stink, though it isn't like the Bucs are lighting the world on fire. They are another below average team defending the pass this season. Bortles has a slightly higher floor because he will take off and run from time to time, averaging more than 20 yards rushing a game this season. Those trickles of points make a difference for the guy at these prices. He's a little pricey on FanDuel, where getting better money in at a little higher a price isn't a tough sell. He's not in Raybon's main pick article,...

Kevin Harvick, needing a win to advance did just that by dominating Dover, leading 355 laps on his way to victory. Kyle Busch ran up front all day and finished in the 2nd place advancing him to the Contender Round as well. The best scenario to follow on Sunday came in the closing half of the race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jamie McMurray were neck and neck for the 12th position in the standings. Dale was told on the radio he needed to finish better than McMurray or Kyle Busch to advance. He passed McMurray late and held onto 3rd while McMurray finished 4th and just one point short of advancing to the next round. The biggest shocker of the day has to be Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson. He came into the race as the most successful driver here at Dover and the favorite to win. He sat in 5th in the standings entering the race with a 27 point buffer on the bubble spot. Unfortunately for the #48 team, an axle seal failure(approx $5 part) resulted in a 30 minute garage visit to repair the issue. He finished back in 41st place and will not advance to the Contender Round. Jamie McMurray, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer were also eliminated at Dover on Sunday. The focus now will be on the next 3 races (Charlotte,Kansas,Talladega) in the Contender Round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. We are now down to 12 drivers in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and head to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 and Race #1 of the Contender Round. This will be the third race here in 2015(2nd points race) and close to the home shops of most of the...

Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial As we’ve entered the season’s second quarter, it’s a good time to discuss sample size. With only 16 games per season, it’s always a challenge to obtain a large enough sample of NFL data. Nevertheless, four weeks in to the season, it’s time to start giving 2015 numbers more weight. As is pertains to QBs and defenses against QBs, we’re looking for trends in efficiency metrics. Has a QB been able to consistently throw for good yardage and multiple TDs. Has a defense consistently had trouble stopping completions are allowed a high yards-per-attempt average over this season’s first four games? At the other positions, we’re looking for indicators of consistent volume. What is the lowest number of targets and receptions a receiver has had through four games? How many touches and red zone opportunities is a RB seeing? These are all meaningful trends that we should pay attention to now that 2015 is 25 percent complete. Also, don’t forget to simply look at fantasy performance to date. Some players’ prices simply haven’t caught up to their production, and through four games, that’s significant. For example, Larry Fitzgerald is currently the fantasy WR2, but he’s priced outside the top ten WRs on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Now let’s get into the Week 5 plays. QUARTERBACK Tom Brady - FD 8800 DK 7800 Starsdraft 8300 Opponent- DAL The fantasy QB1 through the first quarter of the season, Brady faces a Cowboys defense that has allowed an average of 322 passing yards and two TDs over the past two games to Drew Brees and Matt Ryan. The Patriots enter the weekend with the highest Vegas total on the slate (29.25), which bodes well for Brady since 71 percent of New England’s offensive TDs have come via the pass since the start of 2014 (including playoffs). Philip Rivers - FD 7500 DK 6200 Starsdraft 7000 Opponent- PIT The NFL’s passing yardage leader through four games, Rivers’ salary has dropped $600 on FanDuel and $900 on DraftKings from when the season opened. Rivers has been consistent this season, throwing for at least 240 in all...
Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 5
Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 5 Well, there you have it. Week 4 began with Mike Tomlin's coaching blunder and ended with a batted ball in Seattle. There was plenty of stuff in between on a low-scoring, but otherwise eventful Sunday. We are already busy thinking about Week 5, but here are a couple of thoughts on the week that was. It Was a Bad Week to be an Expensive Wide Receiver If you paid up for receivers (or if you're like me and you paid up for two of them) then you most likely came away disappointed. Here's a table of the top WR salaries (FanDuel) for Week 4. [table id=192 /] Now each of these guys isn't necessarily created equally. I doubt, outside of the short evening slates, you were considering Megatron against the Seahawks. And some of these guys were more chalk-y starts than others. But getting one total touchdown from the top ten receivers simply won't happen again in any week. It was nuts. This is surely an anomaly and there were a couple of contextual factors behind the lack of production. The Falcons boat-raced Houston rendering Jones useless early. And Hopkins picked up some garbage time yards in the same game. But overall, this is about as bad as you'll see from the top group of receivers. Click the banner below. Devontae Freeman - Fantasy God Wow. What a game. I was a little surprised when Freeman was such a small cash game start on Sunday. At only 16% in the bigger FD $5 50/50 contest, Freeman was by far the play of the day. I think Freeman's under ownership highlights an interesting idea about value in DFS. It was easy to look at him as being over priced now that he was no longer at punt play prices from last week. He of course saw a big time price increase from Week 3 to Week 4, and with good reason. Entering that higher middle tier of salaries scared a lot of people off even though his situation was very much the same against the Texans. And that situation was a good one. He projected as the primary back in a game the Falcons were a -4 favorite with a high...
