Click here to get started The winner of the FanDuel Sunday Million last week had a three-man stack of Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Martavis Bryant. Meanwhile, the winner of the DraftKings Millionaire Maker had a stack of the aforementioned three, plus DeAngelo Williams and the Steelers defense. Those lineups were able to gain major differentiation over the field because most entrants shy away from using anything other than a QB-WR or RB-DEF stack. However, we’ve seen a bunch of instances this season where winning lineups had creative, somewhat out of the box, stacks. As you create your tournament stacks, don’t limit yourself to the common stacks, especially in situations where one team could have a huge day on offense. For example, this week, stacking three or four of Jameis Winston, Doug Martin, Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins could pay off against a dismal Saints defense. QUARTERBACKS Russell Wilson - FD 8500 DK 6300 Opponent- BAL Wilson has produced at least 25 fantasy points in three straight games, including back-to-back efforts of 34 or more. He’ll travel to Baltimore to take on a Ravens defense that ranks 26th in pass defense DVOA and has allowed a 22:4 TD-to-interception ratio this season. With Marshawn Lynch out over the last three weeks, Wilson has turned it up: he is averaging four total TDs per game and has scored 80 percent of the team’s offensive TDs over that span. Jameis Winston - FD 7800 DK 5500 Opponent- NO Winston gets to take his turn against a Saints defense that has hemorrhaged fantasy points to QBs the entire season; they rank last in fantasy points allowed to QBs by a wide margin. The Saints rank last in QB rating allowed (116.6) and passing TDs per game allowed (2.9), and second to last in passing yards per game allowed (287.4). The Bucs have a team total of 27 this week -- significantly higher than their season average of 22.6. This bodes well for Winston, who has accounted for 85% of the Buccaneers’ offensive TDs this season. Blake Bortles - FD 7700 DK 6000 Opponent- IND A top-eight fantasy QB on the season, Bortles will take...

Click here to get started As we come upon Week 13 of the NFL season, I think it’s a good time to revisit sample size. While it’s true that generally we want the largest sample size possible to inform out decisions, this is not always the case, especially when it comes to analyzing defensive matchups. For example, through the first seven weeks of the season, the Texans had allowed four QBs to top 25 fantasy points and had allowed five multi-TD games. Since Week 8, the most yards the Texans have given up are 228, and they have given up one TD over the past four games. Some defenses simply take a while to learn the same and then improve, while others suffer injuries that cause a major drop-off. Either way, this is a reminder to not discount recent trends in defensive statistics, even if the sample is small. Let’s get into the Week 13 plays. QUARTERBACKS Cam Newton - FD 9000 DK 7400 Opponent- NO A top three fantasy QB on the season, Newton draws the Saints with his Panthers sporting a substantial team total of over 27 points. The Saints defense has allowed a passer rating of 115.9, over 10 points higher than the next worst team. They have given up 38 offensive TDs this season, and Newton is third in the league with 27 total TDs scored. It goes without saying, but the Saints have allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs by a landslide. Andy Dalton - FD 8000 DK 6400 Opponent- CLE Dalton goes on the road to face a Browns team coming off a short week that has allowed the second most points per game in the NFL. The Bengals; team total is 26.5, one of Week 13’s highest. While Dalton has scored the seventh most fantasy points per game among QBs, the Browns have allowed the seventh most. Cleveland ranks 29th in pass defense DVOA. Jay Cutler - FD 7000 DK 5100 Opponent- SF Cutler should offer good value in a game where the Bears have a Vegas implied total of 25 points, four higher than their season average. The 49ers have struggled...

Click here to get started The Thanksgiving holiday provides an opportune time to discuss strategy on small slates. First of all, if you’re playing cash games on a small slate, know that there will be increased variance in your results due to such a small player pool. GPPs tend to be a much better contest type to play in a small slate. Many entrants treat small slate GPPs like cash games, playing mostly chalk plays, resulting in a ton of overlap. So how do you get an edge in small slate GPPs? Focus on low risk/high reward differentiation plays: You know you need to be contrarian somehow, but simply fading the chalk across the board isn’t going to get you anywhere. Instead, focus on the positions that require one roster slot. If you successfully hit on a non-chalk play here, you get points that are impossible to make up, and there are only six choices for you to choose from. Use Larger Stacks: With only three games on the slate, it’s very possible that one game has significantly more fantasy production than the other two. Stacking entire offenses and entire games is a way to gain a differentiated lineup. Ignore Negative Correlation: Many entrants will hesitate to utilize negatively correlated pairings, or even players that are positively correlated but are perceived to cut into each other’s production (i.e. QB-RB). However, with limited options at your disposal, it’s fine to use negatively correlated pairings if you think it will enable you to outscore the field. Using these pairings is another way to get a differentiated lineup without playing sub-optimal players just to be contrarian. With that, I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s get into this week’s plays. QUARTERBACKS Carson Palmer - FD 8100 DK 7100 Opponent- SF Ranked second in DraftKings points per game and third in FanDuel points per game, Palmer will face a 49ers defense ranked 31st in pass defense DVOA. Palmer leads the NFL in TD passes per game (2.7) and yards per attempt (9.0), and is fifth in passing yards per game (306.6). The 49ers allow 1.7 TDs per game (16th), 8.3 yards per attempt (30th)...
