One great thing about computers is they are emotionless. It was easy to hate Stafford going into the game until you realized he had run into some awesome defenses to start the season. Dude isn't an elite quarterback, but he was certainly underpriced going into the matchup against the Bears. After getting pulled the game before there was some concern it would happen again. But Stafford (and to some degree Lamar Miller as well) is a good example of what happens when public perception reduces a player's salary beyond the breaking point. There is a great deal of context that informs every set of picks and every projection system. But sometimes taking a step back and looking at a player from a purely statistical standpoint can mean removing the "Never again, he killed me" piece. We want to avoid that in DFS whenever possible. Football is such a cruel beast because the sample sizes are so damned small. One game (or a couple) can wildly swing public perception of a player or a team. But football has taught us that the player you are one week might not be your projection for all games going forward. Special Offer DraftPot has a $100K Guaranteed contest for NFL's Week 7. I doubt very many would have projected this kind of dominance for a team with Ryan Fitzpatrick behind center and Chris Ivory handling the load. But here we are. Now granted, they haven't exactly run the gauntlet in terms of schedule, having faced teams with a combined 9-10 record (when subtracting for the Jets defeats). But they've manhandled teams on defense, allowing the least amount of points in the league at only 15 points per game. Chris Ivory and the run blocking have been a revelation, as...

Daily Fantasy NFL Picks for Draftpot - Week 6 Welcome to the Week 6 DFS NFL picks article for Draftpot, a brand new way to play fantasy sports. Draftpot is similar to other DFS sites except there is no salary cap restrictions. They offer two separate game types(Fan Mode/GM Mode). For NFL, Fan Mode allows you to build a roster of 1 QB,2 RB,3 WR,1 TE,2 FLEX,1 K,1 DEF without salary restrictions. You can roster anyone you want. In GM Mode, you also roster the same positions but have a Drafpot Points Per Game(DPPG) cap. Each player have a PPG value attached to their name which is a reflection of their previous 16 games played. This gives a more transparent look at player value. Need other NFL Picks? Chris Raybon's Week 6 NFL Plays are up as well as our Week 6 Value Picks. Overlay Alert and Free Access to our Projections! DraftPot has a $100K Guaranteed contest for NFL's Week 6 that's less than 15%  FULL. Sign up and deposit with the promo code "DFSR" to get 100% matching bonus up to $1000. Plus, first time depositors get a free entry to their $10K contest. Oh, and if you sign up through our link we'll throw in a free month of our NFL and MLB projections. That's value baby! Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial   When making my picks I will be looking at a multitude of information (Vegas lines, totals and player props, targets, defensive matchups, injuries, offensive line rankings and of course DPPG) to break down all the players in the pool to provide you with the best analysis possible for the slate at hand. If you missed out on Week 5 at DraftPot, you missed out on a large amount of overlay. Don't worry though. They are doing it again this week with their $12 entry, $100,000 Guarantee Touchdown Fan Mode tournament. It pays $10,000 to first and is bound to have more overlay again this weekend. Get in on the action while there is still time. To win a tournament in Fan Mode you won't be able to just pick the top players at their positions each week. You will need to differentiate yourself with some low ownership picks. One way I love doing this is picking good players who are coming off a bad to horrible week. Recency bias plays a huge part in...

Value and Sleeper Picks for Daily Fantasy NFL Football for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot – Week 6

Value and Sleeper Picks for Daily Fantasy NFL Football for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot - Week 6 It's another value picks and sleepers article for the 2015 NFL season! With a couple of weeks under our belts, some players are already undervalued on DraftKings and FanDuel. Roles change more rapidly in NFL than they do anywhere else, leaving us a huge opportunity to get to cashing in. Here are some guys that our projection system likes that you might not see elsewhere. We've also got Chris Raybon's Week 6 NFL picks sitting there waiting for you to digest. Want to find more sleepers and potential breakout daily fantasy football stars for the NFL in week 5? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Please don't forget that. That being said, we are looking for contrarian value in order to finish high in tournament and get some separation from the field. I wrote in my Week 5 wrap up that I thought there was a sliver of hope for Stafford (however razor thin) considering he's played some awesome defenses to start this season. I know he got pulled last week. That's bad. But the Bears rank 24th in DVOA against the pass this season, and despite the Lions' struggles, Vegas still has them as a slight favorite going into the game (which says a lot about the Bears). Stafford has an elite weapon in Megatron and a passable enough side kick in Tate. He's coming so very cheap (for good reason) on FD and DK and without a solid running attack the Lions will have to pass some here. Could he go Cowardly Lion again? Sure, but I think there's a solid tournament case here. Teddy Bridgewater - FD 6600 DK 5300 Starsdraft 5300 Opponent- KC Coming basically free as far as quarterbacks are concerned, Bridgewater is coming off the bye this week to face a Chiefs team that just lost their best player and weren't good to begin with. Kansas City ranks 29th in DVOA against the pass and are slightly better against the run which could open more throwing situations for Bridgewater. The price is the main thing I'm looking at here, as playing Teddy opens up the lineup for basically anything else...

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Starsdraft – Week 6

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Starsdraft - Week 6 Editor's note: Get ready for Raybon's insightful article on NFL's week 1! He's done an amazing job breaking down the top plays of the week, but obvioulsy, he could never include every single great play. If you want point projections for individual players? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Last week, I discussed the fact that we have a larger sample size to go off of as the season progresses, and I touched on looking at indicators of workload such as touches, targets, etc. Of all statistics, past volume is most predictive of future fantasy success. This was evident last week as top performers like Devonta Freeman, Le’Veon Bell, Justin Forsett, DeAndre Hopkins, Julian Edelman, and Doug Martin had all been seeing heavy volume entering Week 5. Top performances from relative newcomers on the fantasy scene like Todd Gurley, Willie Snead, Allen Hurns and Gary Barnidge were all preceded by an uptick in volume as well. As you make decisions in DFS, be sure to emphasize a player’s workload in your process, because opportunity increases fantasy upside and a lack of opportunity caps fantasy upside. Now let’s get into the Week 6 plays. QUARTERBACKS Tom Brady - FD 9000 DK 8100 Starsdraft 8100Opponent- IND Brady is the fantasy QB1 through five weeks, and faces off against a Colts defense that has allowed 293 passing yards per game despite facing Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Blake Bortles, Marcus Mariota, Brian Hoyer, and Ryan Mallett. The Patriots’ team total of 31 is the slate’s highest, and Brady has accounted for 72 percent of the Patriot’s TDS since the start of 2014 (including playoffs). Carson Palmer - FD 8000 DK 6600 Starsdraft 6500Opponent- PIT Palmer is third in NFL in QBR and leads the league with an 8.8% TD percentage. He’s thrown multiple scores in eight of his last ten games dating back to last season, and has eclipsed 300 yards in three of five games this season. The Steelers allow a 70 percent completion rate and a 9:3 TD-to-interception ratio. Philip Rivers - FD 7500 DK 6300 Starsdraft 5700Opponent- GB Among all fantasy stats across all positions, passing yards exhibit the most week-to-week consistency. Rivers is third in the NFL in passing yards per game, behind only Brady and Drew Brees. Green Bay is playing good defense, but their on-paper success against the pass (186 yards allowed) may be misleading. They’ve faced...

Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 6

Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 6 At some point around 2:30 PM EST on Sunday I thought we might be staring down the barrel of the lowest scoring fantasy week in some time. Just about nothing was happening to a lot of good players. But the NFL is the NFL and things changed quickly. Week 5 is in the books, but I've got some parting shots before heading into Week 6. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Jamal Charles - Well that Sucks Injuries in any sport for any player are brutal. When they happen to superstar players it seems a bit more magnified. Charles is a singular talent and watching that knee crumple without any contact was the kind of "Oh man, that's bad" moment we hate to see. Humanity aside, injuries also can feel magnified in DFS because they tend to swing results in big ways especially when they happen to dudes like Charles. One wants to believe these kinds of things even out over the course of a year (or a DFS lifetime), but it can tilt you for sure. From a projection standpoint going forward, it's a little tough to hone in on how Charles' injury will effect the Chiefs backfield and offense in general. As far as the running back situation is concerned, I somewhat doubt we know exactly the status here leading into next week. Trusting coaching rhetoric regarding absolute game plans leading into a week is very tough (think Rex Ryan and "Boobie Time" with the Bills, or Abdullah with the Lions). Unless a guy has a clear track record of getting carries leading into the game (Think Devonta Freeman in Atlanta) then just plugging in someone new is a very weird spot. I know Charcandrick West saw more carries than Knile Davis last week, but trusting this to be the absolute truth going forward is dicey. Tread carefully here. Almost certainly the Chiefs will be forced to pass more often which could spell a nice bump for Jeremy Maclin who's seen his targets in the double digits each of the last three weeks. The bottom line: injuries suck.   Andy Dalton - Safe Quarterback? Feels crazy to say, but after the OT win against the Seahawks, Dalton now leads the NFL in passing yards and is tied for third in touchdowns. Those numbers are crazy considering the QB talent pool and yet Dalton will go into this game against the Bills (who've allowed the 9th most passing yards in the league)...
