Our projection system? Not so much. Eli was inaccurate and generally terrible week 1, that much is true - but at this point he's priced at a level where you can fit a lot of great talent in around him. Atlanta, for their part, had the very worst defensive DVOA in the NFL last season (15.7%), and played a fast enough pace to where they allowed the highest yardage total as well. They also allowed the very highest yards per passing attempt in the NFL as well. Could Eli simply be aging? Sure. But at these prices, we can absolutely take a shot on him in big tournaments. Nick Foles - FD 6500 DK 5500 Starsdraft 6000Opponent- WAS Okay, so it felt pretty terrible summoning Nick Foles' name into this article. But let's just look at the numbers for a moment. Foles kind of tore up the Seahawks - a super-efficient 18/27 (66%) for 297 yards and a touchdown, spreading the ball out to 6 different receivers en route to leading the Rams to a win. And frankly, it looks pretty sustainable. He targeted running backs 12 of those 27 times, a ratio that will lead to a lot of efficient performances. The real kicker here is that it came against Seattle, a team that ranked #3 in defensive DVOA against the pass (-10.8%) and #1 for total defensive DVOA. In Week 2, Foles and the Rams will face the Redskins, who are essentially the exact opposite of the Seahawks. Their 29.5% defensive DVOA against the pass was dead last in the entire NFL. I think Foles will have another very efficient performance, and...

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Starsdraft - Week 2 Everyone in daily fantasy football is smashing the panic button right now. After a week 1 that saw many big name wide receivers no-show (or something like it) pretty good match-ups, we're left wondering who we can possibly trust. As always, we want to be cautious about using 1 week sample sizes, but we believe there are things we can glean about deploying some of these big name guys on DraftKings and FanDuel as we head into week 2. Let's get into it. By the way - if you want access to the projection system that informs this analysis? Get a Free 3 Day Free Trial of Our Projection System Let's start with a disclaimer: None of this is to be taken as gospel. All of these guys are huge talents, of course, and making any sweeping generalizations based on a single week of NFL performance is a pretty awful idea. Still, daily fantasy football is about finding edges where they lie, and while each of these guys is still a tremendous talent in his own right, in many cases you'll be picking between them on a week to week basis. This article is here to help tip the scales for you as you split these hairs going into week 2, and to start pointing out trends as they emerge early in the season. Enjoy! Not scared at all Odell Beckham - FD 8700 DK 8800 Starsdraft 8200Opponent- ATL Beckham is a daily fantasy football darling after putting up video game numbers for the second half of the 2014 season, and it became sort of a thing to dream on a sophmore slump for him in the 2015-2016 season. Still, DFS football owners were largely unmoved by such concerns, and he was one of the most popular plays of the week (particularly on DraftPot, where he was 80% owned in their salary-cap free Fan Mode $100k giveaway). Well, he was a pretty big disappointment in week 1 - his receptions, targets, and receiving yards were all his lowest since his first match-up with Dallas on October 19th of last year. So, should we be worried? No. One thing that Beckham has on his side that you can't say about the other guys on this list (barring Sammy Watkins, who is a different case entirely), is age. It's very uncommon to see receivers of Beckham's pedigree and performance simply fall off a cliff given the same supporting cast around him. While some of his huge 2014 was...

Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial An Introduction Since this is my first column here at DFSR, I’ll use the space in the intro to summarize my general philosophy for each position. At QB, I’m looking for efficiency, so I want a QB to be a Vegas favorite in a good matchup against an opponent that will struggle to rush the passer and cover. At RB, volume correlates more strongly to fantasy success than efficiency, and volume is largely determined by game script, so I look at whether a RB’s team is a Vegas favorite first, then judge the quality of his team’s offensive line and his opponent’s run-stopping capability second. At WR, I’m looking for targets. I tend to zone in on WRs who will command the largest target market share of their team, and those who are one of their team’s top options in the red zone (where two-thirds of receiving TDs are scored). TEs are the most inconsistent fantasy position from week-to-week because they don’t see high workloads relative to the other positions, making them highly TD-dependent. Therefore, I’m looking for TEs who are one of their team’s top red zone options on teams with QBs capable of throwing multiple TDs on a consistent basis. With Ks and D/STs, game script is again the most important thing, so I’m looking for Vegas favorites. A K’s team needs to play with a lead to ensure that they don’t forgo FG attempts to go for it on 4th down, and D/ST need to play with a lead to force the opponent into passing situations, where most D/ST fantasy points are scored via sacks and interceptions. Of course, everything I mentioned above is relative to a player’s price point. Most players I highlight at the cheap price points aren’t necessarily guys that happen to have a good matchup that week, they’re guys priced incorrectly because they’ve been thrust into larger roles. I’ll generally list players in order of how great a $/point value I believe they are. Quarterback Sam Bradford - FD 7500 DK 6900...
