This is a dude who wasn't a particularly good quarterback when the Browns gave him the full reins a couple of seasons ago. And he even had a non-suspended Josh Gordon running routes. Just feel like I need to start things out on a realistic note. The good news is Weeden is coming very cheap across the board and showed moderate signs of life in backing up Romo last week. He came in and completed 7-7 with a touchdown against the Eagles. While I don't expect a 100% completion percentage (hell, I'd be happy with somewhere in the low 60's) Weeden has a solid matchup against the Falcons who are allowing the 6th most yards per game in the league. The sample size is small of course, but it's a carry over from last season in which they allowed the most. Vegas is actually expecting some points going up in this one and has the game close to a pick. With Weeden it's a price thing. His DK price is a total punt and he's one of the cheapest starting QBs on the board on FanDuel. Ryan Fitzpatrick - FD 6800 DK 5100 Starsdraft 5300 Opponent- PHI I probably won't go there on FanDuel as his price is just a shade too high for my liking, but on DraftKings (much like Weeden), he's about as cheap as it gets. The Eagles are still playing at a breakneck pace this season, allowing the opponent about 70 plays per game which is the sixth most in the league. That kind of volume does wonders for opposing players....

Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial We've already covered a lot of NFL ground for Week 3 with Chris Raybon's picks.  Go check them out. I'm going to try avoid covering all of the same ground as that, while looking at some possible contrarian plays who could produce upside relative to price on this slate. Chris covered some of the top tier QB plays in his Week 3 Picks article so I won't be rehashing the likes of Big Ben, Tom Brady, Nick Foles and Cam Newton. They all make excellent plays and could easily be in some winning tournament lineups this Sunday/ Monday. What I'm doing here is trying to pick of some possible upside on the margins. These are a couple of QB/WR stacks who could pay off as slightly (or very) contrarian. Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers - FD 9100 DK 8000 Starsdraft 7800 Davante Adams - FD 6400 DK 5000 Starsdraft 4300 Opponent- KC Now of course, Aaron Rodgers never falls into the category of "sleeper" of "off the radar", but this week there are so many solid quarterback options in the top tier that I can see him getting lost in the mix some. But there's a lot to like about what Rodgers might be able to do in this game. To start the Packers could be without Eddie Lacy (or playing with him less than 100%) which could force the Packers more to the air. James Starks is a serviceable backup of course, For me, Adams is still coming at a discount. He's averaging the second most targets on the team this season. On DraftKings Adams is only $200 more than James Jones even though Adams has seen twice as many targets. Of course, the REd Zone piece matters and Jones is seeing those looks. But I'll take the volume here with Adams at a slight discount. Special Offer DraftPot has a $100K Guaranteed contest for NFL's Week 3. Chris Raybon’s Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Starsdraft – Week 3

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and Starsdraft - Week 3 Editor's note: Get ready for Raybon's insightful article on NFL's week 3! Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Last week was a rough week for Vegas, and as a result, a rough week for selecting RBs and defenses in DFS. The Rams were an utter disappointment, but at least they put up positive points, something neither the Dolphins nor the Ravens can say, despite being huge favorites against perennial offensive lightweights in the Jaguars and Raiders, respectively. With that being said, now is a good time to emphasize a key to profitability in DFS: process over results, as my good friend Denny Carter likes to say. Vegas should be part of your process because over time, they have been incredibly accurate, and also highly predictive of fantasy production at the running back and defense positions. Will there be weeks where they get a few key spots wrong? Sure. But let’s not forget Vegas also had the Steelers with one of the highest totals on the slate – Ben Roethlisberger and DeAngelo Williams were fixtures is many a GPP winning lineup last week. Stick with the process and the results will come, which I can attest to. QUARTERBACK Tom Brady - FD 8700 DK 7700 Starsdraft 8800Opponent- JAC Brady has the highest floor this week, making him an ideal cash game play (you don’t need me to tell you he has upside as well after a 466-yard, 3-TD dismantling of one of the league’s best defenses in Buffalo). At over 30 points, the Patriots have the highest team total on the slate. The Jaguars allowed Ryan Tannehill to complete 30 of 44 passes for 359 yards and two TDs last week. Russell Wilson - FD 8400 DK 7000 Starsdraft 8800Opponent- CHI Wilson’s team has the second-highest Vegas total on the slate at 29 points – unusual for run-heavy Seattle. Wilson carries more risk than Brady, particularly because the Seahawks tend not need him to air the ball out as much at home, where they tend to have more success running than on the road. However, Wilson’s upside is tremendous because of the aforementioned Vegas total and his matchup against a Bears defense that has given up a 74 percent...

Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 3

Posted by on Sep 22, 2015 in featured, Weekly Fantasy Football Picks | 2 comments

Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 3 Week Two is in the books and it was a Sunday full of big plays, frustrating performances and a ton of injuries. The latter piece will really effect a bunch of games heading into Week 3. I won't get too much into prognosticating how the bumps and bruises will tilt this Sunday's action. That's typically better to do later in the week. For now, let's just look at a few things that came up in Week Two. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Special Offer DraftPot has a $100K Guaranteed contest for NFL's Week 3. Sign up and deposit with the promo code "DFSR" to get 100% matching bonus up to $1000. Click the banner below. Popular Defenses Made Many Unhappy Starting Defensive/Special Teams in fantasy can be a tricky and often frustrating venture. Their point distributions will sometimes vary wildly because on the off chance one group gets in the end zone, or has a fumble (or two) bounce their way then the whole thing goes pear-shaped. If your process for choosing team defenses is targeting projected low scoring games with a money line favorite as your D, then you probably started one of these four team. [table id=191 /] That's 65% of the defenses i case games and they put up a combined 8 points. Now the good news was if started one of these defense, they probably weren't totally sinking your ship as a majority of the money got little to nothing out of their D. Employing a conservative strategy like, over the long haul, will net you points (assuming Vegas has it's sh@# together). But it was a tough one this week. It doesn't make me want to pivot off this process by any stretch of the imagination. But we also have to know that in the early weeks of an NFL season, Vegas is figuring things out just like we are. Adrian Peterson Back to On-the-field AP If this is going to be Adrian Peterson's workload, then watch out. After getting only a few looks in Week One, his first game back from his "time away" from the Vikings, Minny force fed him the ball in week two. And he delivered. We was responsible for about 55% of the Vikings total yards (192 ) from scrimmage, carrying the ball 29 time and getting 2 passing targets. This was about 52% of the...

Chris Raybon’s Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Week 2

Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Those familiar with my work will know that I’m a proponent of looking at tournament upside in terms of how likely a player is to score multiple TDs, which is how Week 1’s Millionaire Maker was won. The winner, BALLAH, was able hit on four players that scored multiple TDs, plus a 3-TD outing by Tony Romo. All together, his lineup scored 14 TDs, and the only roster slot he didn’t get a TD out of was the Jets DST. FANDUEL SUNDAY MILLION WON WITH TOUCHDOWNS AS WELL. Jeremybronson, the winner of the FanDuel Sunday Million, also had four multi-TD scorers and a 3-TD QB, tallying 13 TDs in all. Always keep TD upside in mind when constructing GPP lineups, and even cash game lineups. Nothing swings fantasy football outcomes more than TDs. Target players who are the most likely to have the ball in their hands (high volume of opportunities) and see a decent share of the team’s red zone targets. NFL WEEK 2 PLAYS FOR FANDUEL AND DRAFTKINGS QUARTERBACK Drew Brees - FD 8900 DK 7800 Starsdraft 8100Opponent- TB Only two defenses allowed more 20-plus yard passing plays than the Bucs in Week 1, Drew Brees opponent in a game where the Saints are 10-point home favorites (Brees performs better historically at home, and when his team is a favorite) and have a 29-point Vegas total. Lovie Smith’s cover 2 scheme was a bottom-10 unit last season (23rd in pass defense DVOA) and started off even worse this season (32nd). Tampa Bay allowed four TDs, 13 yards/attempt, and a 25% TD rate to a rookie QB in his first start, Marcus Mariota. Matt Ryan - FD 8700 DK 7400 Starsdraft 7600Opponent- NYG The Giants allowed Tony Romo to complete 80 percent of his 45 passes at 7.9 yards per attempt last week, and offered no resistance when it mattered most against a Cowboys passing game that was by that time missing Dez Bryant. Matt Ryan should have no problem similarly carving the Giants up in a game Vegas oddsmakers expect to be close (Falcons +2.5) and high scoring (O/U...
