A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Early Slate Toronto Blue Jays vs. CC Sabathia (Yankees) The early slate is a little short, but if you're into that type of thing I can't see how you would be able to pass up a Blue Jays stack against a lefty in one of the best hitters parks in all of baseball. Sabathia has some pretty decent numbers this season, but he's also benefitted from some unsustainably good run (check the main article to read Brent's breakdown). Not to mention that he's been significantly worse this season in the hitters haven that is Yankee Stadium. So moving on to the hitters for Toronto, there isn't much surprise as to who you should target for this stack. The usual suspects such as Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, and Jose Bautista are definitely in play, as well as cheaper options such as Russell Martin, Justin Smoak, and Devon Travis (who believe it or not is hitting .322 with an OPS of .958 vs lefties in 63 career PA). If you want to pay up for Fernandez it might be...

Pitching Targets Note: We discussed David Price and Chris Sale in the Main Article, and will be going over a few more options below. Stephen Strasburg FD 10600 DK 13400 Opponent - NYM (Harvey) Park - @WSHFD - 38.76 DK - 21.58 On a night with Chris Sale pitching, Strasburg's ownership percentages will be down, which is great for tournaments. He will be going up against the Mets, who just loss Lucas Duda and have been struggling in the month of May. They own a 89 wRC+ (22nd in MLB) and .299 OBP (24th in MLB). I rarely talk about on-base percentages, but [wow], a .299 OBP is just awful. Not only are the Mets struggling to get on base and creating runs, but they are also striking out a ton! They own a whooping 25.3 K% (3rd in MLB), and things won't get any better going up against the Stras-inator tonight! The Stras-inator on the other hand, has been killin' it! He owns a 2.29 FIP, to go along with a 30.9 K%. I won't list all of his numbers (even thought...

Dickey (Blue Jays) I really like the matchup the Yankees have today against R.A. Dickey, especially in the hitter friendly Yankee Stadium. Dickey is in the twilight of his career, and his age is certainly causing a decline in production. His struggles this season are largely due to his lack of success against left-handed hitters (something the Yankees have plenty of), as evidenced by his xFIP of 5.07, BB/9 rate of 4.64, and the fact that his fly ball % and ground ball % are exactly the same (40%). This last part is especially important because the ball tends to carry quite a bit to right field at Yankee Stadium, so I could definitely see a couple of balls ending up in the bleachers tonight. For this stack our projection system likes guys like Brian McCann, Jacoby Ellsbury, Carlos Beltran, Brett Gardner and Dustin Ackley (it also likes Teixeira but I'm not sold on him). I think Ackley in particular provides some serious upside given how low his price tag is...

Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Clayton Kershaw and Johnny Cueto in the Main Article, and will be going over a few more options below. Vincent Velasquez FD 8900 DK 11800 Opponent - DET (Pelfrey) Park - @DETFD - 35.25 DK - 19.01 I'm going to start off by saying the Clayton Kershaw, Johnny Cueto and Gio Gonzalez are all excellent cash options (and my favorite options on the slate), but I will be talking about a few GPP plays I like on today's slate in this article. The first guy on the list is Vincent Velasquez. He will be going up against the Detroit Tigers tonight, which is never an easy task, but I love the ceiling this matchup provides him with. You might ask yourself "Velasquez has upside against the Tigers? This guy is insane." And the answer to that question is -- I might be a little crazy, but he sure does have upside. The Tigers have a lineup that showcases a lot of power, but with power, there are always side effects. The side effect the Tigers face due to...

You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Philadelphia Phillies vs. Mike Pelfrey (Tigers) Because the Phillies offense has been up and down for most of the season, I'm sure this seems like a strange suggestion. That is until you see who they're up against. Mike Pelfrey is one of those guys that our system loves to hate, and it seems like every time he's on the mound I'm stacking against him. Here's why. Pelfrey has been horrendous this season against left-handed batters, allowing a line of .378/.433/.598, a wOBA of .437 and a BB/9 of 3.66. Heck he's even been pretty bad against righties too, nearly walking as many batters as he's struck out. But clearly the value here is stacking left-handed bats, and the Phillies have plenty of guys to choose from. Our system is really big on guys like Cesar Hernandez, Maikel Franco, Freddy Galvis, and Odubel Herrera. The system also really, really likes Ryan Howard (he's got a career line of .356/.463/.600 against Pelfrey in 45 career AB), but he's been struggling so much this season that he's a risky...
