Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/13/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/13/17 Welcome back for night #2 of the NHL playoffs. I feel guilty that I am so excited about this year's playoffs yet my team is out on the golf course. Ok, enough about my misery and more about how we can cash in with daily fantasy. Tonight we have a smaller three-game slate but it is definitely not short of offensive upside. Let's jump right in and preview each of these series and take a look at a few of my top plays from each. If you have any questions about anyone we do not mention please reach out to either me(@Jager_Bombs9) or Ryan(@curlmonster7) on Twitter. Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. MAKE NHL and NFL LINEUPS NOW! TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS VS. WASHINGTON CAPITALS TOR Offense (5th) vs. WSH Defense (1st) WSH Offense (3rd) vs. TOR Defense (22nd) Favorite to win series (WSH -625) The biggest favorite in the first round puts the Presidents Trophy winners matched up against the Maple Leafs. Both teams will be looking end different kind of slumps. The Leafs are back in the playoffs after three straight years and will look to win their first opening-round series since 2004. That is a slump right there. The Montreal Expos were still a thing when the Leafs last won a playoff series. The Capitals haven't had trouble making it to the playoffs(8 of the last 9 years) but haven't past the second round in the Ovechkin era. The Caps won the season series two games to one including the final two games by a combined score of 10-6. I am expecting this to be the highest scoring game of the night so let's jump into some picks. Alex Ovechkin FD - $8600 DK - $8600 Opponent - TOR Proj Pts FD - 15.97 DK - 4.72 Despite a down year(for Ovi at least), he is coming off a fairly impressive playoff run last year when he recorded a...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/12/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/12/17 Here we are, ladies and gentlemen. The NHL playoffs start today and it begins with a nice five-game slate for us to dissect. As a die hard hockey fan, I have been waiting for this for an entire year. Sixteen teams will now battle it out in hopes of winning 16 more games and hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup. We are going to shake things up a bit from an article perspective as the matchup obviously remain the same throughout the first round. We are going start the playoffs by giving you a quick preview of each series with three players from each game. If you have any questions regarding any players I didn't cover you can reach out to either myself(@curlmonster7) or Chris (@Jager_Bombs9) on Twitter. MAKE NHL and NFL LINEUPS NOW! NEW YORK RANGERS VS. MONTREAL CANADIENS MTL Offense (15th) vs. NYR Defense (12th) NYR Offense (4th) vs. MTL Defense (5th) Favorite to win series (MTL -135) I actually thought that Vegas would have Montreal as a higher favorite to win this series. As long as Price stays healthy, I don't see the Rangers putting up too much of a fight as they've gotten worse as the year has moved on. Montreal won all three games against the Rangers this season with two of them were in New York. The Rangers won the last series 4-2 in 2014, so look for the Habs to have revenge on their minds. It's a boring matchup from a fantasy perspective except for their stud goalie who we need to talk about. Carey Price FD - $8900 DK - $8100 Opponent - NYR Proj Pts FD - 14.34 DK - 3.58 Looking at the other goalie matchups in the first round, they all have more uncertainty than I would like. Pittsburgh's goalies haven't been very sharp lately and Minnesota was in a huge slump before their last game. I do like...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/9/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/9/17 Hello hockey fans and welcome to the final regular season day in the NHL. We have both an early slate and a main slate today on both sites, so we have picks for both. It's a tough day because of uncertainty with lineups, but let's do our best to find some great pics. Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. MAKE NHL and NFL LINEUPS NOW! GOALIES Jimmy Howard FD - $8100 DK - $7900 Opponent - NJ Proj Pts FD - 17.97 DK - 4.49 Let's start off with a goalie for the early slate. This pick isn't as much about Howard as it is about the team as a whole. The Red Wings are playing their last game at the legendary Joe Louis Arena this evening and you can bet that they will want to win. Howard is a backup at this point in his successful career and it is fitting that he gets the nod today against the Devils and their 29th ranked offense. The veteran tender has lost his last three starts, but don't think about that. Think about the fact that New Jersey is bad and Detroit is listed as a -175 favorite this evening. Look for Howard and the Wings to pull out a victory for their city and he is a solid play in all formats. Braden Holtby FD - $9400 DK - $8400 Opponent - FLA Proj Pts FD - 19.11 DK - 4.78 On a day like this where there isn't much to play for, we have to look for other reasons to roster certain players. Normally, with the Capitals having first place in the entire league locked up, they may let Holtby rest half-way through the game. Well, that isn't the case today since Grubauer played a full game yesterday. Holtby will play the entire game today (knock on wood) against the Panthers and their 16th ranked defense. Florida defeated buffalo 3-0...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/8/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/8/17 Happy Saturday DFSR and daily fantasy hockey fans. We have now entered the final weekend of the regular season as teams prepare for the playoff tournament starting next week. Before that, there is still some playoff positions to be finalized and it starts with the Leafs who will not only look to clinch a spot tonight but possibly move ahead of the Bruins for third in the Atlantic division. There are 14 total games on Saturday but we will be turning our attention to the 11 game main slate this evening. Let's dive right into the picks. GOALIES Jaroslav Halak FD - $7700 DK - $7900 Opponent - NJ Proj Pts FD - 17.43 DK - 4.36 Halak will get the nod for the Islanders tonight in a do or die situation that they don't really have control over. All they know going into the game is that they need to win and Halak looks more than ready to carry the load. Since returning in March, he has been terrific winning all five of his starts while allowing just seven goals in those games. Tonight the Isles will be -150 favorites in a plus matchup vs. the offensively challenged Devils(ranked 29th in offense). Halak is safe in all formats. Charlie Lindgren FD - $7500 DK - $8000 Opponent - DET Who? Don't worry I couldn't even get the system to recognize this guy to get a projection for tonight. He is getting the nod once again for the Habs who have clinched the division title. This makes him a risky option as it is tough to tell how much playing time the top players are going to get. Either way, Lindgren was impressive in his first start in Florida the other night stopping 31 of 32 shots in a 4-1 win over the Panthers. At $8K or below...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/6/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/6/17 Welcome back for another big night in daily fantasy hockey. With just four nights left in the regular season we are going to be treated with three more big slates and it starts tonight with 12 games. Everyone should be well rested as there are no teams playing on a back to back. Let's jump right into the picks. GOALIES Tuukka Rask FD - $8900 DK - $7900 Opponent - OTT Proj Pts FD - 19.19 DK - 4.8 This pick should mean a lot to all of you because of the fact that I'm a Habs fan and not a Bruins fan "gulp." The Finnish net-minder has always been one of the best in the league and lately he's been pretty darned good. He has basically taken his team on his back as he's won his last four starts. During those four starts, the veteran has recorded two shutouts while allowing only three goals in those four games, to go along with a .972 save percentage. The Bruins are trying to prove a point as they cruise into the post-season, so start Rask witih confidence in all formats. Matt Murray FD - $9200 DK - $8300 Opponent - NJ Proj Pts FD - 17.2 DK - 4.3 It is tough this time of the year when choosing a goalie, especially when their team has clinched a playoff berth. What we need to do though, as we should do all the time, is pick on weak offenses and in this situation, it doesn't matter who the goalie is because Murray and Fleury are both very capable of shutting down a weak Devils squad. The young Canadian net-minder has won his last three games while allowing only six goals in the process. New Jersey owns the league's second worst offense, so look for Murray and the Penguins to cruise to...
