Kevin Harvick, needing a win to advance did just that by dominating Dover, leading 355 laps on his way to victory. Kyle Busch ran up front all day and finished in the 2nd place advancing him to the Contender Round as well. The best scenario to follow on Sunday came in the closing half of the race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jamie McMurray were neck and neck for the 12th position in the standings. Dale was told on the radio he needed to finish better than McMurray or Kyle Busch to advance. He passed McMurray late and held onto 3rd while McMurray finished 4th and just one point short of advancing to the next round. The biggest shocker of the day has to be Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson. He came into the race as the most successful driver here at Dover and the favorite to win. He sat in 5th in the standings entering the race with a 27 point buffer on the bubble spot. Unfortunately for the #48 team, an axle seal failure(approx $5 part) resulted in a 30 minute garage visit to repair the issue. He finished back in 41st place and will not advance to the Contender Round. Jamie McMurray, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer were also eliminated at Dover on Sunday. The focus now will be on the next 3 races (Charlotte,Kansas,Talladega) in the Contender Round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. We are now down to 12 drivers in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and head to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 and Race #1 of the Contender Round. This will be the third race here in 2015(2nd points race) and close to the home shops of most of the...
Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 5
Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 5 Well, there you have it. Week 4 began with Mike Tomlin's coaching blunder and ended with a batted ball in Seattle. There was plenty of stuff in between on a low-scoring, but otherwise eventful Sunday. We are already busy thinking about Week 5, but here are a couple of thoughts on the week that was. It Was a Bad Week to be an Expensive Wide Receiver If you paid up for receivers (or if you're like me and you paid up for two of them) then you most likely came away disappointed. Here's a table of the top WR salaries (FanDuel) for Week 4. [table id=192 /] Now each of these guys isn't necessarily created equally. I doubt, outside of the short evening slates, you were considering Megatron against the Seahawks. And some of these guys were more chalk-y starts than others. But getting one total touchdown from the top ten receivers simply won't happen again in any week. It was nuts. This is surely an anomaly and there were a couple of contextual factors behind the lack of production. The Falcons boat-raced Houston rendering Jones useless early. And Hopkins picked up some garbage time yards in the same game. But overall, this is about as bad as you'll see from the top group of receivers. At only 16% in the bigger FD $5 50/50 contest, Freeman was by far the play of the day. I think Freeman's under ownership highlights an interesting idea about value in DFS. It was easy to look at him as being over priced now that he was no longer at punt play prices from last week. He of course saw a big time price increase from Week 3 to Week 4, and with good reason. Entering that higher middle tier of salaries scared a lot of people off even though his situation was very much the same against the Texans. And that situation was a good one. He projected as the primary back in a game the Falcons were a -4 favorite with a high...

Daily Fantasy NFL Picks for Draftpot - Week Four Welcome to the Week 4 DFS NFL picks article for Draftpot, a brand new way to play fantasy sports. Draftpot is similar to other DFS sites except there is no salary cap restrictions. They offer two separate game types(Fan Mode/GM Mode). For NFL, Fan Mode allows you to build a roster of 1 QB,2 RB,3 WR,1 TE,2 FLEX,1 K,1 DEF without salary restrictions. You can roster anyone you want. In GM Mode, you also roster the same positions but have a Drafpot Points Per Game(DPPG) cap. Each player have a PPG value attached to their name which is a reflection of their previous 16 games played. This gives a more transparent look at player value. Need other NFL Picks? If you missed out on Week 3 at DraftPot, you missed out on a large amount of overlay. Don't worry though. They are doing it again this week with their $10 entry, $100,000 Guarantee Touchdown Fan Mode tournament. It pays $10,000 to first and is bound to have more overlay again this weekend. Get in on the action while there is still time. To win a tournament in Fan Mode you won't be able to just pick the top players at their positions each week. You will need to differentiate yourself with some low ownership picks. One way I love doing this is picking good players who are coming off a bad to horrible week. Recency bias plays a huge part in...

Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial QUARTERBACK This is one position I'm not going to spend a ton of time with. Chris gave you Derek Carr and Colin Kaepernick, two QBs coming very much on the cheaper side with rather high expectations. Both of their DraftKings prices are ridiculously low and offer a ton of flexibility there. So you can understand why a deeper dive isn't as much in demand this time around. Kirk Cousins - FD 6100 DK 5400 Starsdraft 5200 Opponent- PHI You need to have a strong stomach for plays like this. But Cousins showed last week he wasn't a complete corpse with a QB1 sticker next to his name. granted his touchdown pass came in garbage time, but Cousins did throw the ball close to 50 times. There's some reason to believe he sees enough volume in this game to get near a similar number of attempts. The Eagles allow the most plays per game to opposing teams at 71.7 (tied with Buffalo) which carries over the tradition from last year where they were also right at the most in the league. Just having Cousins on the field more could get his prices up and over the value markers. And on the off chance he throws say, two touchdowns, then you are really in the clear. Quick note: I think you can also consider Tyrod Taylor against the Giants for some of the reasons I outlined in my NFL Week 3 wrap up piece. RUNNING BACK Thomas Rawls - FD 6000 DK 3000 Starsdraft 4700 Opponent- DET This is if, and only if, Marshawn Lynch were to sit out on Monday night. The problem of course with a play like this is whether you will know or not. On FanDuel that's...
Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 4
Daily NFL Fantasy Football Thoughts for FanDuel and DraftKings Heading into Week 4 Week Three is in the books and it was a Sunday that saw some big games from little running backs, a few more injuries and some big time question marks from elite players. We won't get too much into picks for NFL's Week Four, that'll get taken care of around Wednesday. For now, let's just look at a few things that came up in Week Three. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Big Ben's Knee Folds and the City of Pittsburgh Dies a Little Inside When his knee bent back into an odd reverse L position against the Rams I felt a little squeamish. And his on-field reaction makes the 4-6 timetable for Big Ben's return almost a gift. See what expectations can do to us? But in the short term, that might have spelled the end to Antonio Brown's insane level of production . I suppose there are worse backups in the world than Michael Vick who was able to come in and at least complete some passes later in the game. I doubt the Steelers ask too much of him, though he's in a solid position because the rest of their weapons are elite players. Because leagues for next Thursday's game had already been published at the time of the injury, Vick is basically a min-priced starting quarterback with a top 1 wide receiver and top 3(?) running back at his disposal. We will need to downgrade the Steelers' weapons for the foreseeable future until we see how Vick handles the offense. Though it would be insane to think he's more than 75% as effective as Roethlisberger at the very best. Antonio Brown was converting targets at a nearly unsustainable rate this season. I imagine it's right around now he starts regressing. Special Offer DraftPot has a $100K Guaranteed contest for NFL's Week 3. Arizona Cardinals - Scoring points everywhere No team in the league has put up more points in the first three weeks of the season than the Arizona Cardinals. They've gone for 31, 48 and 47 respectively. Granted they weren't facing the 85 Bears in that stretch, but putting up that kind of production consistently against any random sampling of three NFL teams is staggering. That two of the games...
