Point Guard Kyle Lowry FD - $8000 DK - $7300Opponent - NYProj Pts FD - 39.23 DK - 40.24 Fred Vanvleet FD - $4600 DK - $4900Opponent - NYProj Pts FD - 28.94 DK - 29.52 Welcome to NBA Saturday. With the trade deadline come and gone, NBA rosters are finally settling down for the second half run. The Raptors made a big move in adding Marc Gasol in hopes to win the East, but will still have competition. Tonight, the Raptors take on the Knicks with a questionable Kawhi Leonard. If Leonard plays, Lowry is just a fine play. If he’s out, Lowry is going to get 35 minutes of high-usage basketball. He’s been great when on the floor recently and just comes down to the game staying close and him touching the ball. You also have Fred VanVleet, who will jump in and play big minutes if Kawhi is out. The Knicks are a pretty new team overall, but no signs point to them being effective on defense. The Raptors should have their way in this one and I expect Leonard to sit it out, giving a ton of opportunity elsewhere. Lowry is the number 1 option behind Leonard and has huge upside in this match-up as well as a floor over 30. You can’t go wrong with Lowry here. Dennis Smith Jr. FD - $6500 DK - $5900Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 33.96 DK - 34.96 Dennis Smith Jr. is obviously a big piece of what the Knicks believe is their future. It’s somewhat obvious after being given the reins from the start and being trusted to play huge minutes. He’s been over 35 minutes in two games straight, and has crushed these prices in each of them. He was just a 32% cash game start last night and was one of the best overall plays on the slate, pouring in 31 points from the field and 46 fantasy points overall. He’s been phenomenal on every possession and is playing like a guy who was uprooted after proving himself a year ago. Kyle Lowry is known as a good individual defender, but the Raptors struggle as a team vs point guards. DSJ is...

Point Guard Collin Sexton FD - $5000 DK - $4500 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 29.22 DK - 30.9 I mentioned Sexton as an interesting cash game consideration in Tuesday’s picks and it turned out he was one of the plays of the night. The reasoning behind Sexton was the Cavs were playing with limited personnel and they’d been fine running him major minutes. That, combined with a chucker-like usage rate had him as something of a high floor play at his price. He finished with his best game of the season, dropping 27 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Dude threw up 24 shots and we could see more of the same going forward. Cleveland shipped out Alec Burks, are without Cedi Osman again and are barely putting an NBA team on the court. They’ll likely continue giving their rookie PG the reins going forward and if that’s the case then he’s a major bargain. Tyler Johnson FD - $4700 DK - $4300 Opponent - GS Proj Pts FD - 23.31 DK - 23.68 Jerryd Bayless FD - $5300 DK - $5600 Opponent - NO Proj Pts FD - 28.44 DK - 29.73 These are two of the question mark point guards going on Friday and both are reliant on injury news coming our way early. Tyler Johnson was traded to the Suns and will start at the point. The key here is having Devin Booker sit again. If Booker plays, then I’m less intrigued by Johnson. But if Johnson's running the point in this offense, there’s a good chance he plays a ton of minutes if Booker is out and could be a serious buy-low candidate in a totally new scheme. I’m excited to see how this one plays out. Meanwhile, Bayless’s value is contingent on the statuses of Jeff Teague and Derrick Rose. The former was a later scratch on Thursday and has struggled to get back on the court consistently. Rose is also dealing with injury issues, leaving a bulk of the point guard duties to Bayless. He was struggling in the game against the Magic and then left early with a toe injury. Stay tuned to this situation. If he...
NBA Trade Deadline Reactions – DFS implications
NBA Trade Deadline Reactions - Daily Fantasy Implications Well, the trade deadline has come and gone. Anthony Davis stayed put. The Bucks, Sixers and Raptors all upgrade their cores in an arms race to be Eastern Conference Finals winners. And a bunch of auxiliary pieces moved throughout the league over the last 24 hours. Let's take a look at the DFS implications of the trade deadline deals. (In no particular order.) We've got you completely covered. Marc Gasol Traded to the Toronto Raptors The Raptors finally get the center they’ve coveted to fill court space when facing the Joel Embiid’s (and possibly ultimately, DeMarcus Cousin’s) of the league. It’s unclear if Gasol will immediately step into the starting lineup, of if Toronto will continue the mix and match process they employed with Jonas Valanciunas when he was healthy. Their current starting lineup of Lowry, Green, Kawhi, Siakam and Ibaka playing 16.4 minutes per game with a 2.5 +/-. But when Jonas was healthy, that lineup (minus Ibaka) came in at a 5.7 +/-. There’s a ton to like about the flexibility this gives the Raptors. From a DFS standpoint, it will really depend on the starting lineup decision. Obviously, Gasol won’t play on Thursday. But moving forward there’s fantasy value in the C position with Gasol if he’s running with the starters. Jonas averaged a 13 point, seven rebound line in only 19 minutes per game when healthy. This will be very interesting moving forward. Nikola Mirotic Traded to the Milwaukee Bucks Mirotic isn’t likely to join the starting unit, but will provide a perfect complement to Giannis’s game off the bench. Short of the Bucks sitting a key player (Middleton, Lopez, etc) Mirotic isn’t likely to see much movement in terms of fantasy value. He’ll be called on to shoot threes. He’s a 6’10 stretch four shooting 37% from three this season before the injury. Great add by the Bucks, but not a ton of DFS implications here. We could see further reduced usage on some of the Bucks' starters, though they rarely had a ton of DFS value outside of Giannis sitting a game. Harrison Barnes Traded to the Sacramento Kings The Kings had struggled to find exactly the right fit in their starting lineup this season, starting Bjelica...

Point Guard Russell Westbrook FD - $12000 DK - $11300 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 58.38 DK - 60.8 We'll kick things off with the guy who leads this article the most, Russell Westbrook. Westbrook and Paul George have taken the league by storm this year and it seems like the first time Westbrook truly has chemistry with a teammate. He's once again averaging a triple-double this year and is essentially match-up proof at this point. They'll face off with the mess that is the Grizzlies tonight and we'll just have to hope they can keep it relatively close. The price of Westbrook is extremely high, but he's playing 35 minutes a night and has the ball in his hands every single possession. The Grizzlies played a lot faster two nights ago without Gasol and I think they'll do the same again tonight vs. a Thunder team that loves running. It's hard to look at any stats with the Grizzlies in such mayhem, but we know Westbrook is going to take advantage of every weakness and this Grizzlies defense has a ton of them. There are a few solid options to spend up on and Westbrook is one of the top three. On the other hand, this could very well be a blowout and there is a huge opportunity cost at point guard. Rajon Rondo FD - $6100 DK - $6500 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 31.3 DK - 32.29 I'm going to stay away from everyone not named LeBron James until the Lakers make a trade, but let's make an exception here. We all know Rajon Rondo is one spiteful man and he's always going to turn it up against the Celtics in Boston. He's also a lock to see the minutes with Lonzo Ball still out of the lineup. As long as we don't see another huge blowout, 30+ minutes is a lock and he could get close to 40 if the game stays close throughout. He's been paying 5x points per dollar...
