Point Guard Damian Lillard FD - $10000 DK - $11000 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 54.19 DK - 56.71 It seems like five lifetimes ago that the Trial Blazers played in the Western Conference finals against the Warriors, but it seems a lot more recent when you look at how the Blazers have played over the last couple weeks. Lillard has been the poster boy for the restart, pouring in 31+ points on 40+ minutes in each of his last five games. The floor here is truly outrageous, and while the price is getting up there on DraftKings, he could have 90%+ ownership on FanDuel. The Lakers just can't contain him behind the three point line AND in the paint, and it sure looks like Dame is going to eat in some capacity over the course of this series. Goran Dragic FD - $6200 DK - $5900 Opponent - IND Proj Pts FD - 32.09 DK - 33.8 Dragic was flat out awesome in game one against the Pacers, and Spoelstra has a history of sticking with what works until the other team figures out how to stop it. Dragic led the team with 19 shots, and was second on the team in each of points, rebounds, and assists. He's still priced like the guy who was playing 28-30 minutes a game during the restart, and getting the bonus minutes and usage makes him a great cash game play. Also considered: Alex Caruso, if Rondo sits again. He didn't do much on his 29 minutes in game one, but he really should have a 5x points per dollar floor with that kind of run. Shooting Guard James Harden FD - $11800 DK - $11700 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 69.71 DK - 72.78 Harden didn't even need to do everything he is capable of in Houston's embarrassment of the Thunder in game one, and our projection system thinks he has more to give here. While the 34 minutes he played in game one might look like full run for a guy like Giannis, we know that the Rockets won't be shy about playing him 40+ in close...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Wednesday 8/19/20
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday 8/19/20 The second game of a playoff series gives us a little more clarity around minutes, rotations and what teams' strategies will be. That's a good thing from a projection perspective. Let's take a look at DraftKings and FanDuel picks for this NBA slate. Point Guard Kemba Walker FD - $6900 DK - $6800Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 38.08 DK - 39.73 Boston was dealt a brutal blow on Monday when Gordon Hayward sprained his ankle and is now out for at least the next month. This was a team that already lacked much in the way of depth after their core six guys. The whole team gets a minutes and usage bump with Gordon off the court. Kemba had a quieter game one with 19 points and five assists. He did get up 16 shots, though went 0-4 from three. Expect a tick up in the attempts on Wednesday and the minutes should be there as well. His price did come up some, but he’s still a value on both sites. After Kemba, point guard is a problematic position on this slate. There aren’t any clear plays on either site. Kyle Lowry (FD $8000 DK $8000) has a good matchup but there’s once again big-time blowout risk against the Nets. He and Fred VanVleet both played a ton in game one even though that one got out of hand. In that way, he is probably fairly safe, but this one has a big spread as well. If you want to go super cheap, Monte Morris (FD $3900 DK $3700) and Seth Curry (FD $4400 DK $3600) both are near the minimums and played a lot off the bench in their respective games on Monday. Shooting Guard Jordan Clarkson FD - $5100 DK - $4700Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 30.61 DK - 31.9 Clarkson didn’t get the start for Mike Conley on Monday (those honors went to Juwan Morgan) but the former did come off the bench and play 34 minutes in regulation. He ceded a lot of usage to Donovan Mitchell, but still finished with 18 points on 17 shots, the second-most on the team. Clarkson ran bad from...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Tuesday 8/18/20
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Tuesday 8/18/20 The first day of the playoffs didn't disappoint with an OT game, the Nets hanging at least for a bit and the other games offering enough intrigue to keep it all interesting. We've got another run of four games on Tuesday with pleny of storylines to sink our teeth into. It’s so fitting that Chris Paul and the Thunder will take on the now-Westbrook-less Houston Rockets and James Harden. Paul has had a spectacular season, leading the Thunder to a somewhat improbable playoff run. For the season, he averaged 17 points and seven assists and the .552 effective field goal percentage was the second-best of his career. Now he’ll face a Rockets team with the third-worst defensive efficiency among playoff teams. Paul should play minutes in the mid-30’s and not having Westbrook on the other side of the ball helps CP3 here. He’s a good mid-tier value on FanDuel. Eric Bledsoe FD - $5800 DK - $5400Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 33.02 DK - 33.71Markelle Fultz FD - $5500 DK - $4200Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 27.68 DK - 27.59I’m putting these guys together because they carry similar risk in the same price tier on FanDuel. The concern for both is this game turns into an utter blowout with the Bucks -12 favorites. The game getting out of hand would mean reduced minutes for both. In the two bubble games where he ramped up to 30 minutes, Bledsoe averaged 13 points, six rebounds and six assists. One was without Giannis so it meant some extra opportunity for sure. But he’s coming cheap enough to deal with some of the risk of getting burned off the run. Meanwhile, Fultz took over the starting point guard job three games ago, supplanting DJ Augustin. He’s been good with 15 points, six assists and two steals per game. The three-point shooting is still basically nonexistent, but he does enough to contribute across the stat line to play at the these prices if you think the Magic can hang in until the fourth quarter....
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Monday 8/17/20
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Monday 8/17/20 Playoff basketball is here! We are through the regular season in the bubble and now the series start. Let's take a look at the opening NBA slate for FanDuel and DraftKings. Point Guard Kyle Lowry FD - $7300 DK - $7900Opponent - BKNProj Pts FD - 42.08 DK - 43.82 The Raptors walk into the best matchup on the slate against a shorthanded and undermanned Nets’ team. Sure, Brooklyn’s been a really nice bubble story, but this isn’t in any way a strong defensive unit. If the game can stay close, Toronto is the team I trust the most with the minutes on this slate seeing as how they’ve played with shorter rotations almost all season. Lowry averaged 33 minutes per game in the bubble, and played a ton early on. He shot really poorly from three (only 32%) and yet still finished averaging 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game. I like him as a high floor option in a good matchup as long as the game doesn’t get out of hand. Kemba Walker FD - $6000 DK - $6900Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 35.87 DK - 37.59 Though he had his minutes monitored early in the bubble as he continued working his way back from injury, Walker still played well in Orlando shooting the ball very well including 43% from beyond the arc on 35 attempts. The price remains on the lower side, especially on FanDuel because he wasn’t playing enough minutes to ramp back up into the $7K range. That’s good news for a mid-tier dude who will now get a Philly team moving in the wrong direction after losing Ben Simmons for the rest of the season. Shooting Guard Josh Richardson FD - $4800 DK - $5500Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD - 29.87 DK - 30.18 Richardson’s fantasy games can really come and go, to an almost alarming degree. Sure, he had the 34 points, six assists and five rebounds in 38 minutes against the Blazers. But then there’s a line like five points, one rebound and one assist in the final game against the Rockets. It sure seems like there’s more of the...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Friday 8/13/20
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Friday 8/13/20 Friday is the last day of the bubble regular season and what a run it's been. We've had a little of everything in these games with the Nets-Blazers going down to the wire on Thursday night. We now have a close-to-clear idea of the playoffs, though Friday won't bring the final piece of clarity. And this slate is kind of a mess with Head on over a for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer and NHL Projections as well. Denver Nuggets at Toronto Raptors Denver is walking into a first-round matchup against the Utah Jazz and have been very cautious with starter’s minutes in these final bubble games. They are still dealing with injuries to Gary Harris and Will Barton who haven’t played a single game in Orlando. With a little break before the playoffs, I think we see some moderate minutes out of the starters and they still work to fully gel. This is a team that didn’t play significant minutes together during the regular season with Michael Porter Jr. (FD $7000 DK $7900) really putting a stamp in the bubble as a dynamic offensive player. The Nuggets don’t have anyone on the injury report (who’s been playing) meaning we could be looking at a starters’ minutes maintenance game from them. That would make them awfully tough to project with the team basically all meeting in the middle. The Raptors will get the surprise Nets in the two-seven matchup and could be really gearing up for a repeat run to the Finals. O.G. Anunoby and Serge Ibaka both rested on Wednesday and should return on Friday. The rest of the starters are a bit of a mystery. With nothing to play for we could see them do something like the Lakers on Thursday and play the main guys the first half. That’s something of the theme for this slate in that teams might choose maintenance over full rest. That makes for even dicier fantasy prospects. No injury news is coming out of Toronto so this is a wait-and-see team. Miami Heat at Indiana Pacers The Heat played hilarious minutes in their last game with only three players cresting over 20 minutes of run and then the lone Tyler Herro inexplicably playing 35. The Heat have already...
