Fold of Honor QuikTrip 500 Atlanta Motor Speedway Track - 1.5 Mile Intermediate I may be a bit biased as I attended Speedweeks in Daytona but the entertainment value was absolutely through the roof. From the Truck race where Johnny Sauter won to the Xfinity race that saw Tyler Reddick win by the closest margin in NASCAR history and finally the 60th running of the Daytona 500 where Austin Dillon in the iconic #3 car for Richard Childress Racing took home the win on the 20th anniversary of Dale Sr. winning there. It was also very special for me as Austin Dillon was my very first interview and I may now be a fan for life. Speaking of interviews, I also got to talk to Bubba Wallace who came in second this past weekend in his first race as a full-time Cup driver. Now the grind really begins as the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 this Sunday. It will be the first mile and a half race of the season and one of the driver's favorite tracks as the surface is one of the oldest in the sport where tires wear down quick and cars slide around making it a big challenge. After 20 years since its last repave, Atlanta was scheduled to have the work done following last seasons triple-header weekend but the drivers got together and pretty much begged track owner Bruton Smith to hold off. It worked and they decided to patch it for this season and so hopefully the hot weather forecast won't affect the surface or the racing in general. For fantasy, we completely flip our strategy from last week where we targeted place differential heavily. We now get back to dominator fantasy where we must really pay attention to practice speeds, especially 10-lap averages to help figure out who is going to lead laps and produce a ton of fast laps. I mean, just look at Kevin Harvick here at Atlanta. He has not won a race here in...

Daytona 500 Daytona International Speedway Track - 2.5-Mile Superspeedway(Restrictor Plate) Welcome back races fans, it's time for another exciting Monster Energy Cup Series season. Before I get into the fantasy breakdown and picks I would like to share with you my experience for the Daytona 500. I would first of all like to thank NASCAR Integrated Media Communications for inviting me to take part in this one of a kind experience covering Speedweeks from a media perspective. I am currently in an office in the Daytona 500 club which is situated on the infield right on the start/finish line. Today(Wednesday) I will be conducting some driver interviews with Austin Dillon, Erik Jones, Kevin Harvick, and Ty Dillon as well as following along with the mainstream media coverage and driver interviews. I will then be spending Thursday through Sunday in the pits and garage to get an up-close look at how teams operate. If you want to see the pictures or hear interviews, I will post the links in the comments section below. There are some notable changes going into the 2018 season and it starts with pit road. The number of crew members allowed over the wall will be reduced from six to five this year which could make things interesting from a strategy standpoint early in the season. My feeling after talking to some drivers is that some teams may try some different strategies early on but a few races in should all be close to using the same strategy. The other big difference this season is that the pit guns used will now be a standard piece of equipment coming from the same manufacturer where in the past some teams spent considerably more money to have better guns thus faster pit stops. I will definitely be watching closely and tracking which teams are performing best on pit road this season and including a write up down the line. Let's now take a look at some of the trends going into this weeks race. Last Six Winners at Daytona 2017 Summer - Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 2017 Daytona 500 - Kurt Busch 2016 Summer -...

Welcome back to another exciting season of daily fantasy NASCAR. We are now just 10 days from the 60th running of the Daytona 500 so I wanted to put together a season preview series looking at each team and driver and their average fantasy production on each track type from 2017 and their outlook going into the 2018 season. If you are new to fantasy NASCAR, especially on DraftKings, be sure to check out my strategy article coming out soon covering some basic strategy for cash games and GPP formats. Chip Ganassi Racing The first team in this preview article series that will see no changes in their drivers going into the 2018 season. Both Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray are back in the #42 and #1 after a successful 2017 season. Larson broke out in a big way in his fourth NASCAR Cup Series season with four wins, 15 Top 5's, and 20 Top 10 finishes. McMurray didn't record a win in 2017 but did pick up three Top 5's and 17 Top 10's and posted the ninth-best average finish(14.6) in the series. Both drivers also made the Monster Energy Cup Series Playoffs and will be looking for even more in 2018. Now let's take a look at how each driver performed when looking at the fantasy numbers. 2018 Drivers Kyle Larson #42 Larson came hot out of the gates in the 2017 season and almost took home the Daytona 500 before running out of fuel in the final laps. He then went on to finish runner-up at Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Phoenix coming so close to grabbing his second career win. He got that win the next week as he started from the pole at Auto Club Speedway and battled through multiple late-race cautions to eventually grab the checkered flag. That win propelled him to a huge breakout season where he won twice at Michigan and then Richmond sending him to the playoffs as the #2 seed. He easily made it through the Round of 16 with three straight Top 5 finishes and followed that up in the Round of 8 with a...
