Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Kyrie Irving FD - $9300 DK - $9900Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 51.03 DK - 54.52 The Nets have lost their last two games since Kevin Durant went on the shelf with a knee injury and they’ve struggled to maintain consistent scoring without their superstar. Kyrie Irving has averaged 19 points, six assists, and four rebounds over the last two, dramatically underperforming expectations (both real-life and fantasy scoring) when it came to what many thought would happen without KD. The price is still high, but this matchup at least lines up for a bounce-back game where Kyrie is concerned. The Spurs rank dead last in defensive efficiency and play the league’s fifth-fastest pace. That’s the DFS sweet spot for sure and I think we can go back to Kyrie here. Fred VanVleet FD - $7100 DK - $7800Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 35.85 DK - 38.4 VanVleet has had trouble shooting this season, seeing the FG% and three-point FG% drop to career lows. It’s been an especially difficult time behind the arc where he is making threes at only a 32.8% clip, down from 38% for his career. It’s a problem for the Raptors who really need his scoring even though they have won four of their last five games. FVV bounced back last game for 33, but before that his scoring totals were 3, 11, 11, and 14. That’s just not going to get it done. But it has served to drop his price, especially on FanDuel and I think we can make him a buy against the Bucks here. There are some unknowns for this slate and the big one of the status of Giannis Antetokounmpo. He was scratched last game after having a probable tag earlier in the day on Monday. This game is on the back-to-back and he’s currently questionable. If Giannis were to sit then Jrue Holiday (FD 7900 DK 8000) would instantly vault to the top of the value chain, and would likely be a chalk play. He dropped 35 points and 11 assists on Monday against the Pacers. Grayson Allen...
DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Monday 1/16

Guards Marcus Smart FD - $6400 DK - $6900 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 34.2 DK - 34.6 If you are playing the early slate, some exposure to the Celtics is optimal as they get one of the best matchups on the entire day facing the Hornets who run a top-10 pace and rank 27th in defensive efficiency. The Celtics will also be without Jaylen Brown on Monday and while positional correlation isn't perfect, Smart has been playing great in his absence. He has taken double-digit shots(15/12) in back-to-back games, but the ball distribution has really stood out as he has tallied 10 and 12 assists for back-to-back double-doubles, as well. He is one of our top-rated PTS/$ guards on Monday. Gabe Vincent FD - $5000 DK - $5200 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 26.85 DK - 28.11 The price is on the rise but Vincent is set to make his fourth straight start with Kyle Lowry already ruled out for this one. In Lowry's three-game absence, Vincent has taken 12 or more shots in each and has been very efficient over the last two games making 21 of 31 shots and providing us 45+ fantasy points in each. While I don't expect that type of run-hot shooting to continue it is a fantasy-friendly matchup against the Hawks who rank 25th in fantasy points to guards. Fire up Vincent in all formats. Russell Westbrook FD - $8300 DK - $8600 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 39.09 DK - 40.15 The system is very conservative with Westbrook's projection which is directly correlated to him coming off the bench this season. I am only considering him a core play tonight as we have a smaller two-game slate on Monday and it also helps Westbrook is in great form, as well. Since laying an egg against the Hornets on January 2, Westy has averaged 23 points, nine assists, and 7.6 rebounds per game over his last five which is just shy of a 50-point fantasy average. LeBron is also dealing with an injury and playing on a back-to-back could sit this one out which would most definitely elevate Westy to elite status. Stay tuned. Also Consider: Tyus Jones(MEM) if Ja Morant is out. He put up 40+ fantasy points in both games of a back-to-back January 8th &...
DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday, 1/15
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 1/15/23 It's been an interesting week of basketball. We always discuss how bad the injury reports look, but they continue to get worse. It feels like numerous superstars are sitting on every slate, making DFS a challenging endeavor. In any case, we make these articles to help you guys digest some of that information and find the value from those unfortunate circumstances. We're going to capitalize on some of those injuries here, so let's get started with the point guards! Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard De'Aaron Fox FD - $8500 DK - $9100 Opponent - SA Proj Pts FD - 44.06 DK - 45.07 Fox is having a career year in Sacramento, and he could be on his way to Utah for his first career All-Star game. The speedster has scored at least 27 DraftKings points in all but three games this year, with all of those duds being limited by an injury or an ejection. That's one of the highest floors in this price range, and it pairs beautifully with his 41-point average. Squaring off with the Spurs is the best part of this, though, with San Antonio sitting dead last in both points allowed and defensive efficiency. They're also allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards, with Fox dropping 47 DraftKings points in their one matchup this year. Tre Jones FD - $6800 DK - $6300 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 35.22 DK - 35.03 This Kings-Spurs matchup is expected to be the highest-scoring game on this slate, so we'll have a ton of exposure to it. That's why we love both of these point guards, with Jones running things in San Antonio. The 23-year-old has scored at least 29 DraftKings points in nine of his last 10 games, generating a 34-point average in that span. That's all you can ask for from a sub-$7K player, but it's no surprise since he's been asked to do more since Devin Vassell (knee) got injured. That expanded role makes Tre tough to fade against Sacramento, sitting 25th in both points allowed and defensive efficiency. Luka Doncic (FD $12500 DK $12900) leads the NBA with nearly 65 fantasy points per game and is...

Guards *At this point, Luka is an auto-play and should be about $1000 more expensive on both sites. He is still hard to build around so my early construction will be centered around getting two of my favorite $10K players in my lineup as a core. Let's dig in!* James Harden FD - $10600 DK - $10100 Opponent - UTA Proj Pts FD - 49.36 DK - 53.3 After Luka, it is very close for me between Ja Morant and James Harden in high total games but I lean towards the latter as he has actually been giving us a more consistent PTS/$ return. He isn't garnering the same usage as in the past but has become an even more elite distributor averaging 12.5 rebounds over his last 10 games to go with 6.7 rebounds and 22.5 points for a fantasy return of over 55 points per game. He now faces a Utah defence that runs fast(11th in pace) and is 26th in defensive efficiency. Fire up Harden in all formats. Gary Trent Jr. FD - $6900 DK - $6100 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 33.52 DK - 35.06 The guard position is loaded in every price tier tonight so lineup construction will ultimately come down to the final injury report and how much value is available. If you are looking for a consistent mid-tier play for cash games, don't overlook Gary Trent. He is very shooting dependant and even with the Raptors at full strength, he has been one of their best players lately. He is averaging over 17 shots and 24 points per game over his last eight while giving us a return of 37.8 fantasy points per game. In a matchup against one of the most fantasy-friendly defence's in the league, I have Trent in my first-look cash builds for tonight. Buddy Hield FD - $6700 DK - $6300 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 38.11 DK - 42.44 Andrew Nembhard FD - $5700 DK - $4600 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 26.32 DK - 28.63 The Pacers are on a back-to-back on Saturday but it might not matter for playing time as they look to be short-handed once again with Haliburton, Turner, and NeSmith all missing last night's game. The one thing we know for sure is that Haliburton is out for...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Jalen Green FD - $7000 DK - $7600Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 37.81 DK - 42.22 Kevin Porter Jr. is going to sit this game out which means we are likely to see more of the offense run through Jalen Green who likely shifts completely into the point guard role. Green has a 28.4% usage rate on the season, but that number climbs to 33.5% with Porter off the court. It’s a “healthy” bump for the second-year guard who isn’t priced like what the opportunity could be here. The Rockets are big (-10.5) underdogs in this game, but the opportunity is there for the guard here and should be able to take advantage. De'Aaron Fox FD - $8500 DK - $9000Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 46.43 DK - 49.51 The Kings are pretty big favorites here but it’s tough to get away from Fox’s price on the slate considering he’s going up against a team in the Rockets with the third-worst defensive efficiency playing an above average pace. Sacramento has been involved with some blowouts over the last few games, effectively cutting Fox’s minutes, but in close ones it sure seems like the plan is to run him 36-37. That should give him a high enough floor, especially on the FanDuel price which is coming too cheap here. Buddy Hield FD - $6700 DK - $6500Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 37.64 DK - 41.72 Bennedict Mathurin FD - $5600 DK - $4800Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 29.95 DK - 32.98 Andrew Nembhard FD - $5300 DK - $4300Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 25.62 DK - 28 T.J. McConnell FD - $5000 DK - $4100Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 27.07 DK - 27.88 Piling most of the Pacers guards together here as potential plays seeing as how Tyrese Haliburton is out for the foreseeable future and all of these guys stand to see a healthy bump in minutes, usage, and on-ball time in the offense. It’s unclear how exactly they run the starting unit now with Haliburton out of the mix though Hield and Nembhard have already been there and should stick....
