Guards Dejounte Murray FD - $8600 DK - $8300 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 41.51 DK - 44.08 Terry Rozier FD - $8100 DK - $7600 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 38.7 DK - 42.58 It's a bloodbath of injuries at the guard position tonight with six of the Top 7 in pricing either ruled out, doubtful or at-best, questionable. This has me targeting a balanced approach and it starts with the only game between two teams who both run top 10 in pace. Let's start with the home favourite Hawks who have two very good to elite guards but it's Murray who has stood out lately. He has shown he is much better with Trae in the lineup averaging 50 fantasy points a game over the five games since Trae returned. What I like most is the very high floor which comes from his contributions in every area as he is averaging 26.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and seven assists over those five games with similar numbers on the season. On the other side of this high-paced game, we have Terry Rozier who is set to take on a large role with LaMelo Ball doubtful after leaving Wednesday's game with an ankle sprain. Rozier ended up taking a team-high 24 shots in that game and averaged 21.4 shots over a 10-game stretch when Ball was out last. Rozier was terrific fantasy-wise during that stretch averaging 39.8 DraftKings points which our system sees him topping tonight in this plus matchup. Lock and load on both guards in this game. Tyrese Maxey FD - $6000 DK - $6100 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 26.56 DK - 29.19 This one is a bit speculative early in the day but James Harden is questionable after picking up an injury in the 76ers' last game. My guess is they will take it easy with their star guard which means some minutes and opportunities would most definitely open up tonight. Enter Tyrese Maxey who has seen his price drop lately after three straight games coming off the bench. Looking back, he was terrific in Harden's absence in late November averaging 20.8 points on 19.7 shots over a six-game stretch while delivering over 37 fantasy points a game. If Harden is out, he is a great play in all formats. Also Consider:...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard De'Aaron Fox FD - $8300 DK - $8200Opponent - OKCProj Pts FD - 45.79 DK - 49.14 Friday’s NBA slate is all about managing injuries and determining whether we will have enough information before lineups lock. For the Kings, that might be tough seeing as how they start at 10PM EST and we could be waiting on the Domantas Sabonis news. Sabonis was sick last game, so it’s not an injury and there’s a better chance that he returns. Unlike some of the other guys in the Kings’ lineup though, I think you can feel okay running Fox even if Sabonis is back in the lineup. The Thunder play the 4th-fastest pace in the league and this game has a monster 239 total. There are other Kings considerations if Sabonis is out, but Fox should be on the safer side no matter what. Darius Garland FD - $8500 DK - $8100Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 44.6 DK - 49 Caris LeVert FD - $5600 DK - $5400Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 30.44 DK - 33.43 Playing Darius Garland and Caris LeVert on this slate is obviously predicated on whether or not Donovan Mitchell sits this one out. He didn’t play on Wednesday against the Grizzlies and this guard tandem held it down from a fantasy perspective. Garland finished with 24 points and 14 assists in his 39 minutes while LeVert put up 23 points, six assists, and four rebounds in a whopping 43 minutes. And that was against Memphis who have the best defensive efficiency in the league. Now they’ll play Golden State who sit 16th and play the 6th-fastest pace. This game is early so we should have the injury news prior to lock. He got ejected on Thursday, but I still can talk myself into Ben Simmons (FD 7500 DK 7000) in this game if the minutes are going to be in the 30s. Small Forward Andrew Wiggins FD - $6700 DK - $6300Opponent - CLEProj Pts FD - 34.65 DK - 36.63 Donte DiVincenzo FD - $5100 DK - $5100Opponent - CLEProj Pts FD - 24.6 DK - 26.03 The Warriors...

Guards James Harden FD - $10300 DK - $9800 Opponent - POR Proj Pts FD - 46.68 DK - 49.8 Harden is coming off a season-low six points on Tuesday but that doesn't concern me for several reasons. First of all, he had been elite prior to that dud averaging 22 points, 12.2 assists, and 6.6 rebounds over the previous 12 games while tallying over 50 fantasy points nine times(53.9 DK/52.6 FD average). The other reason I am not concerned with a one-game sample is that the 76ers get the best matchup on the slate against the only team ranked outside the Top 20 in defense. The Blazers have also struggled even more in the short term giving up an average of 120 points per game over their last four. All things considered, Harden is a terrific building block in all formats. Gary Trent Jr. FD - $7000 DK - $6600 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 32.98 DK - 33.05 Targeting shooting dependant guards is not always the optimal route in cash games but we have a smaller slate on Thursday and it's hard to ignore Trent's form post-Christmas break. Take out the dud against the Hawks last week, and he is averaging 17.3 shots per game(8.5 per game from behind the arc) and has tallied 18 or more points each of those 11 games while averaging 37 DraftKings points per game. Minnesota is a tougher matchup here but at least it's a pace-up game(MIN 8th in pace) which has me on board with Trent's mid-tier price in all formats. Also Consider: Duane Washington(PHO) as a GPP play who likely starts again if Chris Paul is out Small Forward Mikal Bridges FD - $7100 DK - $6800 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 33.73 DK - 33.53 The Suns continue to run short-handed with Booker, Payne, Shamet, and Okogie already ruled out with Chris Paul in the questionable/doubtful category. This likely means another heavy run of minutes for Mikal Bridges who can be boom or bust at times but has provided us with more boom than anything lately tallying 40 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games. The Nets are no pushover defensively ranking 6th overall in efficiency but on a smaller slate we just can't ignore the massive opportunity and minutes floor that...
Daily Fantasy DraftKings and FanDuel NBA Picks – Wednesday, January 18
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 1/18/23 The number of big games we've seen this month has been insane. There have been nearly 20 40-point games this month already, and we're on pace to break the NBA record. The scoring from these guys is incredible, and it looks like playing defense is impossible at this point. It's not that these guys aren't playing defense; it's that they can't match up with the elite skill on the offensive end. It's made for a great product, so let's kick things off with one of the most talented playmakers in the NBA! Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard LaMelo Ball FD - $9600 DK - $9600 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 50.37 DK - 54.99 Ball doesn't get talked about enough because he plays in Charlotte, but this guy is a hooper. The point guard has scored at least 41 DraftKings points in 18 of his last 19 games, averaging 24.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in that span. That's the stud we saw throughout most of last season, and he should have another ravishing performance against the Rockets. In his three career meetings with Houston, Ball is averaging over 50 fantasy points per game. That's no surprise since the Rockets rank 28th in defensive efficiency ratings while surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing PGs. D'Angelo Russell FD - $6500 DK - $6800 Opponent - DEN Proj Pts FD - 34.83 DK - 35.88 It's hard to believe that Russell has dropped below $7,000. This guy has been playing the best basketball of his career since Karl-Anthony Towns got injured, scorning at least 30 fantasy points in 21 of his last 25 games. He's also registering a 35-point average in that span, seeing a massive spike in shot attempts and usage. A bump like that is huge for a former All-Star player, and we don't expect him to have any issues with the Nuggets. Denver ranks 22nd in defensive efficiency while owning a 27th OPRK against opposing point guards. That's on full display when you see that D-Lo has at least 32 fantasy points in each of their last four matchups. De'Aaron Fox (FD $8300 DK $8300) faces...

That's right, the PGA Tour heads to La Quinta, California for The American Express this week where there will be three courses used to accommodate the pro-ams in the field. Each player in the field will play one round on each course from Thursday through Saturday with the cut of Top 65 and ties happening after round 3 is complete. Those players will then play the final round on the Stadium Course on Sunday. The field for the American Express is stacked this year with five of the Top 7 and 10 of the Top 20 players in the OWGR teeing it up in Cali. Making that even more interesting is the fact almost every one of those players has good event history here. Looking at the courses, all three are Par 72's that come in under 7,200 yards and have been on the easier side in terms of average scoring which makes sense with the presence of amateurs. That means a lot of birdies for the pros and the reason we have seen a winning score in the -20's each year going back to 2016 when these three courses became the staple here. When researching and looking at stats, keep in mind that there is only Shotlink data on the Stadium Course. This makes it somewhat challenging when trying to put together a model so for these types of events...
