Daily Fantasy Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 9 - 11/1/17 Week 8 is in the books with the weather wreaking havoc all over the East Coast last Sunday. We also saw a shootout between the Texans and Seahawks as well as some out-of-nowhere WR performances. Let's try to make sense of Week 9 where it looks like paying up for quarterback and running back will be the play. Quarterback Deshaun Watson FD 9600 DK 8100 Opponent IND Proj Points FD - 26.09 DK - 27.56 I suppose it's always a little disingenuous to recommend a player after his best game of the season, though most would admit that projecting Watson's game against the Seattle defense would have taken some out of the box thinking. Honestly, projecting Watson's 402/4 through the air, 6/87 on the ground against anyone would have been more than a little suspect. Alas, he torched the Seahawks and now draws arguably the best matchup on the board against the Colts. Watson's been a revelation this season, leading the NFL in fantasy points while effectively playing two fewer games than most of his contemporaries. The "knock" on Watson is that he's been very touchdown dependent in his scoring, leading the league with 19 while throwing significantly less than anyone in the top group. Those are likely to regress some, but the rushing yards (269 on the ground, the overwhelming leader among QBs) always keeps his floor on the higher side. The Indy defense is awful (30th in DVOA) and the Texans have, by far, the highest implied total on the board at 31. Watson is expensive and he isn't a must play, but he's the top option on the board. **Tragic news out of Houston on Thursday afternoon. DeShaun Watson suffered a torn ACL which will require season-ending surgery. Get him out of your lineups. As a replacement, consider Drew Brees who gets an elite matchup vs. the Bucs who rank 30th in passing yards allowed per game(274.7). It is also a plus for the Saints passing game that the Bucs are likely going to be without Brent Grimes once again this week.** Russell Wilson FD 8500 DK 7300 Opponent WAS Proj Points FD - 22.2 DK - 22.98 The reason Watson isn't a must play is...

DFS NFL Talk – Week 8 Recap and Looking Ahead to Week 9 10/31/2017

DFS NFL Talk - Week 8 Recap and Looking Ahead to Week 9 10/31/2017 DFSR's Doug Norrie and James Davis take a look back at Week 8 in the NFL for FandDuel and DraftKings while also looking at some relevant news for Week 9. The big story from this morning is the Miami Dolphins trading RB Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles. This almost immediately bolsters a Philly running attack already ranked fourth in the running yards from scrimmage. The question will be whether Ajayi is available on FD or DK considering he started the week on the Dolphins. They also talk about Deshaun Watson and if his stats are sustainable long-term. Then they break down some of the other bigger performances of the week. All of this and much more on a full Week 8 recap. Subscribe to this podcast on...

Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 8 – 10/29/17

Posted by on Oct 27, 2017 in featured, News, Weekly Fantasy Football Picks | 0 comments

Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 8 - 10/29/17 Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy football. As we always do, let's take a look back and see how I did with my stack recommendations from last week. Overall, it was not a great week for stacking as there were only seven quarterbacks to throw for 300+ yards and two of them(Alex Smith & Derek Carr) played Thursday Night and one more(Kirk Cousins) on Monday Night. That left just four that hit the 300-yard mark on the main slate Sunday and unfortunately, none were in my stacking article. Needless to say, my bankroll took a hit. It was unfortunate for my Cardinal stacks that signal caller, Carson Palmer, was injured in the second quarter but it didn't appear he was going to reach value anyway(10 for 18 for 122 yards before leaving) as the Rams defense was stout and ended up shutting out the Cardinals. Next, I had Mariota and Decker who had a great matchup vs. the Browns who had averaged 26.6 points against per game going in but they couldn't take advantage as either team managed to rack up 300 total yards of offense. Mariota completed 21 of 34 passes for 204 yards but still was hesitant to use his legs(1 rush for 8 yards) two weeks after returning from an injury. Don't even get me started on Erick Decker who had a near elite matchup but managed to put a goose egg. Finally, we got the Super Bowl rematch which had the highest Vegas total of the week and both quarterbacks projecting for big games. I favored Matt Ryan who faced a Patriots defense that had allowed the most DraftKings points per game to the quarterback position. FAIL! The Patriots picked up right where they left off in February and ended up scoring the first 23 points of the game before Matt Ryan finally put up some fantasy points with a touchdown to Julio Jones late in the game. With all that disappointment in the rearview mirror, let's move on to Week 8 on the NFL schedule and see if we can rebound with a GPP win. It will be another interesting week with six teams on a bye, a Thursday and Monday night game, and another early game in London. For the purpose of this article, I will once again be concentrating on the nine-game Sunday slate(10 games on FanDuel). Let's get started.
