Pitchers Max Scherzer FD - P 11200 DK - SP 10700 Opponent - MIA (Sandy Alcantara) Park - MIAFD - 45.1 DK - 25.26 Joe Girardi’s histrionics aside, Scherzer doesn’t seem like he’s had any issues with the no grip rules and he’s been pretty awesome again this season. He’s once again striking out more than 12 batters per nine this season and the xFIP is still sitting in the low-3’s. He’s not an overwhelming favorite in this game against the Marlins, but he’s the best arm going on the main slate of games. The Marlins are the second-worst offense in the league this season with a .294 team wOBA. Despite lower win odds than normal, I still think Scherzer is the cash game play for this slate. Jake Odorizzi FD - P 7600 DK - SP 6900 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - DETFD - 32.22 DK - 17.25 Odorizzi has had an injury-shortened season so far but the peripherals, when on the mound, have been solid. He’s striking out 29% of the batters he’s faced and the walk rate is the second-lowest number he’s sported over the last five years. His 3.53 xFIP is more than a run lower than the 4.75 ERA and he’s had some LOB% issues along the way. He’s a -185 road favorite against the Tigers and I think the price is such that he’s a SP2 option on DraftKings for sure. Ryan Yarbrough (FD $7500 DK $9200) might be an okay option on FanDuel in this matchup. Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD - 1B 3300 DK - 1B 4900 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - DETFD - 15.04 DK - 11.53 Tarik Skubal isn’t showing quite the promise expected from him coming out of the minors and is really struggling with his control. Gurriel meanwhile has put it all together so far this season with low-.900s OPS thanks to a dramatically increased walk rate (10%) and 10 home runs already. He’s mispriced on FanDuel especially hitting in the middle of the order. The platoon numbers are slightly better against lefties for his career and the Astros are in a good spot here. Nate Lowe FD - 1B 2800 DK - 1B 4300 Opponent - KC (Brady Singer) Park - TEXFD - 11.11 DK - 8.41 Lowe is locked into the two spot in the Rangers’ lineup and has actually had a pretty...

Pitchers Jacob deGrom FD - P 11500 DK - SP 11400 Opponent - PHI (Zach Eflin) Park - NYMFD - 45.49 DK - 26.05 I suppose it’s kind of close between deGrom and Lance Lynn, with the latter having a better win expectation, but the former’s numbers are just plain stupid this season. deGrom is striking out around 47% (47%!) of the batters he’s faced this season and has an unreal 11.7:1 K:BB ratio. I suppose the 0.50 ERA is a little lucky, but the xFIP is a paltry 1.59 xFIP. Even in a pitcher’s league, you simply don’t see this kind of dominance. It’s amazing. He’s tough to fade every time he takes the mound and is the best pitcher in baseball right now. Evening Dinelson Lamet FD - P 7500 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - ARI (Merrill Kelly) Park - SDFD - 43.23 DK - 24.46 Lamet has electric stuff, but the control continues to be a moderate issue which limits his ability to go longer into games. That being said, he’s turning in one of his better seasons, striking out 10.4 batters per nine and carrying in a 2.78 ERA. The 3.78 xFIP points to a guy getting a little lucky right now, but he’s still an above average arm coming at very reasonable prices. And he’s got the best win odds expectation on the evening slate as a -255 home favorite against the Diamondbacks. Arizona is a bottom-third offense in the league this season, striking out 24% of the time. This is a smash spot for Lamet. Catcher/First Base Afternoon Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 4800 DK - 1B 6200 Opponent - BAL (Keegan Akin) Park - TORFD - 15.58 DK - 11.82 You have to pay out the nose here, but it’s probably worth it to try to get he and deGrom into the same lineup. Guerrero is having an MVP-caliber season so far with an OPS sitting around 1.100 and 24 home runs already. The 22-year-old (yes, 22) has put it all together and is primed to be around and mashing for years and years to come. He has a better OPS against righties for his short career, but that could be noisy based on sample size. He walks more against lefties and has a BABIP 100 points lower in that split. This is a great place to load up against Akin. Evening Max...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 6/25/21 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Carlos Rodón FD - P 11200 DK - SP 10700 Opponent - SEA (Yusei Kikuchi) Park - CHW FD - 35.08 DK - 18.82 While Jacob deGrom is sort of running away with the National League Cy Young at this point, the race is much closer in the American League and Rodon has been near the front since the start of the season. It has been a spectacular comeback story that includes a no-hitter(near perfect game) and he enters the night having held opponents to one or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 12 starts. A lot of the success comes on the back of an elite fastball/slider combination that he throws 82% of the time and helped him to a career-high 36.6% K rate. The prices are near season high's but he gets an elite matchup vs. a bottom 5 offense so fire him up in all formats. Chris Paddack FD - P 8500 DK - SP 8800 Opponent - ARI (Corbin Martin) Park - SD FD - 34.42 DK - 18.56 After a rocky April, Paddack has really started to come into form posting a 3.35 ERA and even better 3.24 xFIP over his last eight starts. What really stands out is the K upside he has provided lately with six or more strikeouts in four straight starts including 20 over his last two starts. He now gets an elite matchup vs. a struggling(to put it kindly) D-backs team that has posted a league-worst .280 wOBA, 75 wRC+, and .119 ISO since the start of May while only winning five(5!!) games. Paddack is my favorite SP2 on DraftKings and a nice GPP pivot play on FanDuel tonight. Also Consider: Alek Manoah(TOR) in a plus matchup vs. the Orioles if he starts. He is still waiting on his appeal decision after hitting Franco in his last meeting with the O's Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD - 1B 3300 DK - 1B 5000 Opponent - DET (Wily Peralta) Park - DET FD - 15.3 DK - 11.73 It is going to be really hard not to go back to the Astros once again and I don't think we can fade them at this point until they really cool down or get priced out of the park. Gurriel has seen his price go up slowly and finally hit $5K on DraftKings but he is having a better season than Jose...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Yours truly was subbed out last week because of ACL surgery, but I'm back to it and ready to go here! I actually had a minor bink over the weekend, and I've been really zoned in because of how stuck at home I am right now. That has me ready for this eight-game Thursday slate which is a bit larger than the usual Thursday card. There's a lot to discuss, though, so let's go ahead and get into it! Pitchers José Berríos FD - P 9000 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - CLE (Jean Carlos Mejia) Park - MIN FD - 34.73 DK - 18.24 Berrios doesn't get a lot of hype in the media, but this youngster has been one of the best pitchers in the AL over the last five years. This has actually been his best season to date, posting a 3.56 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 9.4 K/9 rate. What makes him really attractive is his floor, scoring at least 19 FanDuel points in all 14 starts while dropping at least 27 fantasy points in 10 of those. All of that makes him hard to fade against Cleveland, with the Indians ranked 21st in OPS and 29th in OBP. He's been dominant against them over the last three years, too, allowing three runs or fewer in all seven of his starts against them. Luis Garcia FD - P 9600 DK - RP 8700 Opponent - DET (Jose Urena) Park - DET FD - 27.36 DK - 13.87 The Astros have been churning out starters for a decade now, and they found themselves another gem with Garcia. The right-hander has actually allowed three runs or fewer in all 12 starts he's made, generating a 2.69 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 10.6 K/9 rate since the opener. He's been even better recently, scoring at least 46 FanDuel points in four of his last five starts. That's nearly double our projection, and it would make him one of the best values on the board if he reaches that total again. Facing Detroit should make that much easier, with the Motor City Kitties ranked bottom-five in runs scored, OBP, OPS, xwOBA, and K rate. Catcher/First Base Max Muncy FD - 1B 3500 DK - 1B/2B 5500 Opponent - CHC (Zach Davies) Park - LAD FD - 11.74 DK - 8.64 While this DraftKings price is a bit lofty, we absolutely love this FanDuel pricing. A big...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 6/23/21

Pitchers Early Brandon Woodruff FD - P 10700 DK - SP 10300 Opponent - ARI (Caleb Smith) Park - ARI FD - 40.98 DK - 23.2 As well as Kevin Gausman has pitched this season, the decision at top pitcher on this slate is pretty easy here. To start with, Woodruff gets the much better matchup against the D-backs who are among the worst offenses in the league and much worse against right-handed pitching. For Woodruff, he is coming off his worst start of the season but it was in Coors and before that he had held opponents to just 11 earned runs over his previous 12 starts. All things considered, Woodruff is my top pitcher in all formats on the early slate. Also Consider: Dylan Cease(CHW) in a plus matchup against the Pirates Main Jose Urquidy FD - P 8500 DK - SP 8100 Opponent - BAL (Thomas Eshelman) Park - BAL FD - 32.46 DK - 16.92 The main slate is a much tougher decision at pitcher tonight with Bauer and Musgrove going head to head and add in Trevor Rogers and all three top pitchers have pretty terrible matchups. I will bypass those guys in cash and head down the board a bit with Jose Urquidy who is a -200 favorite tonight against the Orioles. The K upside(22%) or lack thereof is a bit of an issue but the price is low enough that we can deal with it an on DK we are looking for about 16 points and he has tallied 15 or more in six of his last seven starts with 22 or more in three of his last four. All things considered, I love the PTS/$ value here making him my fav pitcher for cash games on the main slate. Catcher/First Base Early Paul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 3900 DK - 1B 5000 Opponent - DET (Matt Manning) Park - DET FD - 11.6 DK - 8.72 After a slow start to the season, Goldy has really started to heat up hitting over .300 in the month of June with an elite .392 wOBA and 153 wRC+. With it, however, is a huge spike in price but it is also slightly relative to the size of this early slate. The Cards sit right behind the White Sox in terms of implied runs and goldy is my favorite play at first in all formats. Main...
