Pitchers Afternoon Shane McClanahan FD 9600 DK 9800 Opponent - MIA (Sandy Alcantara) Park - MIAFD - 42.86 DK - 23.27 McClanahan and the Rays come into Saturday having already locked up a playoff spot and the top of the American League East. They don’t have much to play for here and it’s hard to imagine them pressing the righty a ton. But they are a -204 home favorite on the slate against a very weak Miami team. McClanahan has been excellent this season with a 3.23 xFIP while striking out more than 10.5 batters per nine. Coming under $10K on both sites is attractive even if you think the pitch count runs a little lower. Ranger Suárez (FD $8800 DK $6800) has been very good over his last six starts, allowing just seven earned runs in 35 innings in that stretch while striking out 38 and walking just eight. He’s a big (-282) home favorite against the Pirates. Main Corbin Burnes FD 11100 DK 10600 Opponent - NYM (Rich Hill) Park - NYMFD - 45.75 DK - 26.21 Corbin Burnes will probably end up on the outside looking in when it comes to the Cy Young award, currently sitting second to Max Scherzer in odds for the award. But it won’t have been for lack of trying. This guy has put up one of the great seasons, striking out 35.5% of the batters he’s faced, walking just 5%, and sporting a 2.31 xFIP. You just won’t see many better seasons than that. The 10-4 W-L record is what only really has him trailing Scherzer and that’s silly of course. These two should be basically tied. Burnes, as always, is an excellent play here. Catcher/First Base Afternoon Anthony Rizzo FD 3400 DK 4300 Opponent - BOS (Nick Pivetta) Park - BOSFD - 11.62 DK - 8.7 The Red Sox and Yankees are locked in a playoff battle and have, by far, the highest implied run line on this slate with a 10.5 over/under. Rizzo should be hitting second against the righty Pivetta. The former is tough to strike out, going down on strikes only 15% of the time this season and that number has dropped even more over the second half of the season since coming to the Yankees. His hard contact rate has been down this season, which has led to the OPS dip, but...

Pitchers José Berríos FD 9700 DK 9500 Opponent - MIN (Bailey Ober) Park - MIN FD - 35.62 DK - 19.45 We have quite the decision to make at pitcher tonight as Shane Bieber and Jack Flaherty are making returns from the IL, and Gerrit Cole and Frankie Montas in below-average matchups. For me, I like taking the discount and rolling with Jose Berrios as my top pitcher. He has been a welcome addition to the Jays posting a 3.39 ERA over 10 starts since coming over in a trade. He faces his old team for the second straight start and looked pretty good in the first one limiting them to just four hits. All things considered here, I will have exposure in all formats. Dylan Cease FD 9000 DK 9000 Opponent - CLE (Shane Bieber) Park - CLE FD - 36.2 DK - 19.33 I will be going with a fairly balanced approach at starting pitcher tonight and Dylan Cease is next in line. Outside of one rocky start(7 ER to BOS), he has been consistent in the second half averaging over 5.5 innings per start in the other 11 and does sit with an xFIP(3.60) that is nearly a half run lower than his ERA(4.06). What I have been enjoying the most is the rise in strikeouts as he is striking out(34.7%) 5% more than he did in the first half and that aligns with the matchup as Cleveland has struck out 26% of the time over the last two weeks. I do prefer Cease on FanDuel as he is $700 cheaper than Berrios and I will be pairing them together as my top pitchers on DraftKings. Catcher/First Base Brandon Belt FD 3800 DK 5300 Opponent - COL (Peter Lambert) Park - COL FD - 15.73 DK - 11.77 Buckle up for a heavy dose of the Giants in this article as they visit Coors Field where they have averaged 8.7 runs in six games this season. Let's tart at first base with Belt who, despite a lower average(.263), is having a tremendous season with 26 home runs, a .393 wOBA, and 150 wRC+. He has been even better down the stretch with hits in 15 of his last 18 games(.329/.434/.643 slash line) and now gets to take hacks in Coors. As the 7th most expensive player at the position, Belt is easily my top play at first in...

Pitchers Early Charlie Morton FD - P 8600 DK - SP 7500 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - ARI FD - 38.23 DK - 21.44 Max Scherzer is en route to a third CY Young award but it's Charlie Morton that stands out on this early slate with his near-season-low price tag on DraftKings. He has been consistent for the Braves and for fantasy all season with a 3.49 ERA/3.39 xFIP and has also provided a ton of upside with a 28.5% K rate. He and the Braves are big -190 favorites facing a D-backs team that ranks bottom five in almost all offensive categories in the second half. I will be pairing him with Max on DraftKings and have him as my top pitcher on FanDuel in all formats. Main Aaron Nola FD - P 9100 DK - SP 8500 Opponent - PIT (Connor Overton) Park - PHI FD - 32.46 DK - 17.52 Another smaller slate full of pitching at night and no other place to start than Aaron Nola who, like Morton, is at near season-low prices. Sure, there have been some blips on the radar but he is coming off one of his best starts of the second half striking out nine Mets, and has tallied 25 K's over his last three starts. While the Pirates don't K a ton which does lower his upside some, they have struggled to a 88 wRC+ and low .124 ISO over the last two weeks. At these prices, Nola is easily my top pitcher on the main slate. Catcher/First Base Early Albert Pujols FD - 1B 2500 DK - 1B 2600 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COL FD - 12.03 DK - 9.14 The Dodgers face a lefty on Thursday afternoon and that means we are likely to see Pujols occupy first base and hit in the middle of the order. That is great news if you are wanting to pay up for Max and a couple of other expensive Dodgers bats as Pujols comes very cheap. At this point, he is a platoon hitter that does risk being pulled but he crushes lefties to the tune of a .404 wOBA, 157 wRC+, and .328 ISO. If starting, he will be a core play for me in all formats. Main Yuli Gurriel FD 3000 DK 4200 Opponent - LAA (Alex Cobb) Park - LAA FD - 13.26...

Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD 10200 DK 10400 Opponent - STL (Jake Woodford) Park - STLFD - 39.82 DK - 22.83 Woodruff is in a good spot here on Tuesday against the Cardinals, coming in as a -225 home favorite. The Brewers have a playoff spot locked up, but that didn’t stop them from throwing Freddy Peralta 96 pitches on Monday, meaning they aren’t exactly treating the starting pitchers with kid gloves heading into the post-season. That’s a good sign in considering a pitcher for cash. Woodruff has had a masterful season, striking out batters at a 10.5 K/9 clip and rocking a 2.55 ERA (3.05 xFIP). He’s been able to average more than six innings per start on the season and has a high floor in this matchup. He is likely to be the chalkier play on the slate. Jordan Montgomery FD 8800 DK 8300 Opponent - TEX (Dane Dunning) Park - TEXFD - 35.66 DK - 18.87 The Yankees are in the final week of the season battling for a Wildcard spot in the American League. It’s going to come down to the wire with them, the other teams in the AL East and maybe even some AL West teams as well. Montgomery faces the lowly Rangers in this one as a -262 home favorite, currently the best win odds on the slate. He’s had a solid season with a 3.91 xFIP and a strikeout rate more than a batter per inning. You’d like to see the 2.94 BB/9 rate come down a bit, but beggars can’t be choosers here. Considering the opponent and the odds, he makes for a very good SP2 on DraftKings where he is reasonably priced. Catcher/First Base Max Muncy FD 4100 DK 5800 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - COLFD - 16.28 DK - 11.99 Look, we are going to be working overtime to get Dodgers’ bats into our lineups on Tuesday, with them making their way into Coors Field for a series. They start things off facing Antonio Senzatela, who is among the weaker arms in the league. And Los Angeles has, by far, the highest implied run like at 6.6. It is going to cost of course, but we will try to find cheaper options in some other spots when it is all said and done. Muncy has had another excellent season with a .909 OPS and is closing...

Pitchers Robbie Ray FD - P 11000 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - TB (Shane Baz) Park - TB FD - 35.29 DK - 18.54 With Gerrit Cole getting peppered on Sunday, this is a huge opportunity for Ray to get a stranglehold on the American League CY Young. He is the most expensive pitcher on this slate but has, by far, the biggest leash of the top pitchers. He has been dominant all season and especially against Tampa Bay giving up just seven earned runs in five starts vs. the rays with a 46:3 K to walk ratio. The Rays also strike out the third-most(25.5%) against southpaws this season. Fire up Ray in all formats. Ranger Suárez FD - P 9000 DK - SP 6500 Opponent - BAL (John Means) Park - PHI FD - 28.84 DK - 15.18 In terms of an SP2 on DraftKings, I am very puzzled by the price on Suarez considering how good he has been since joining the rotation. His first few starts were fairly limited as they stretched him out but over his last five starts, he has held opponents to just five total earned runs while topping 19 DK/34 FD points in each of those starts. He now faces a struggling O's team that has dropped eight of their last nine and struck out 32% of the time over the last seven days and 25% over the last 14. Suarez is easily my top SP2 option tonight alongside Ray. Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD 3000 DK 4100 Opponent - LAA (Jaime Barria) Park - LAA FD - 13.91 DK - 10.67 After a day off on Sunday, Gurriel should be back in the lineup tonight and continues to come at a tremendous PTS/$ value on both sites. We have talked about it all season and nothing changes down the stretch as he enters with multi-hit efforts in five of his last seven games pushing his average up to .314 for the season. His power upside comes against lefties but he has still been solid against righties with a .349 wOBA and 126 wRC+. At these prices, he is my top play at first base and easily stackable with multiple teammates. J.T. Realmuto FD 3300 DK 4400 Opponent - BAL (John Means) Park - BAL FD - 12.2 DK - 9.23 The Phillies are thick in the playoff race down the stretch and...
