Pitchers Carlos Carrasco FD - P 8500 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - SD (Blake Snell) Park - SD FD - 31.13 DK - 15.91 The pitching on Monday is average-at-best so let's start things off by jumping into the game with the lowest total(7) on the slate. In his second season with the Mets, Carrasco has been terrific posting a 3.63 ERA/3.58 xFIP and while he has seemingly alternated good start/bad start for some time, he has provided a very solid PTS/$ floor with 16 or more DraftKings points in five of his last six starts. He also gets a matchup against a slightly below-average Padres offence that has been much worse against right-handed pitching(.286 wOBA/86 wRC+). All things considered, he is my top pitcher on this slate. Hunter Greene FD - P 7300 DK - SP 7600 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - CIN FD - 29.23 DK - 15.19 If you looking for safety, I can see a pairing Carrasco with Javier but if you want an upgrade on your bats and can handle a bit of risk, give some consideration to the Reds' top prospect. He already owns the major league record for most 100+ mph pitches in a game(39) and despite a 6.19 ERA, he has tallied 12 or more DraftKings points in seven of 10 starts and 20 or more three times. What really stands out here and the reason I will take on some risk is the matchup against the D-backs who strike out a slate-high 25% of the time and rank in the bottom third in almost all hitting stats. Also consider: Cristian Javier(HOU) who has a slate-low 2.61 ERA and is the 2nd biggest favourite or Ross Stripling(TOR) who is getting a spot start for the Jays and gets a plus matchup(-173 fav) against the Royals Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 4200 DK - 1B 4900 Opponent - KC (Daniel Lynch) Park - KC FD - 15.3 DK - 11.52 While the Jays' prices are trending back up, Vlad is still stuck below $5K on DraftKings and leads off the hitter portion of our article on Monday. There finally appears to be some life in Vlad's bat after a prolonged slump as he starts the week on a five-game hit streak that includes three home runs. The Jays also get the best matchup on the board tonight against...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 6/5/22

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 6/5/22 I'm having one of my best weeks of the season, and the hitting landscape is finally turning around. The weather is warming up, and it's led to some of the highest-scoring games of the season. With that said, we've had some low-scoring games in Colorado this weekend, and that sort of volatility is why we love baseball! We'll surely have some exposure to the Coors Field game here, but let's get started with a couple of arms! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Zac Gallen FD - P 9800 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - PIT (Zach Thompson) Park - PIT FD - 37.15 DK - 19.46 Gallen has quietly been one of the best pitchers in the NL this season, but he's been pitching like this throughout his career. The right-hander has a 3.28 ERA and 1.18 WHIP since his call-up but is amid the best season of his career. Gallen has a 2.32 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 8.8 K/9 rate so far this year. He's actually allowed two runs or fewer in eight of his nine starts, which should be easy to duplicate here. Pittsburgh's offense ranks 29th in OBP, 23rd in wOBA, 26th in K rate, and 28th in OPS. All of that has Gallen entering this matchup as a -150 favorite, with Pittsburgh projected for just 3,5 runs! Luis Castillo FD - P 8400 DK - SP 7900 Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - CIN FD - 35.65 DK - 18.73 It's strange to see Castillo this cheap. This guy has flashed All-Star potential at times throughout his career, and he showed that in his most recent start. The right-hander allowed just one hit across six scoreless innings in Fenway Park, striking out 10 batters in that masterclass performance. We've seen him pitch like that in the past, and it looks like he's finally fully healthy. Getting to face Washington is the icing on the cake, though, with the Nationals ranked 20th in runs scored, 25th in xwOBACON, and 19th in OPS. He also enters this matchup as a -180 favorite, and that will be easy to understand later on in the article! Kevin Gausman (FD $10100 DK $10200) is one of the frontrunners for AL Cy Young and should keep rolling against a righty-heavy Twins lineup. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 3900 DK - 1B 4500 Opponent - MIN (Devin Smeltzer) Park - TOR FD - 13.46...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 6/4/22 – Afternoon Slate

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 6/4/22 - Afternoon Slate Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Nick Pivetta FD 9000 DK 7900 Opponent - OAK (Paul Blackburn) Park - OAKFD - 34.37 DK - 18.31 The pitching options on the afternoon slate aren’t exactly amazing so we are looking at probably paying down a bit at the position. Pivetta has been fine this season all things considered with an ERA just under 4.00 while he’s striking out just a hair under a batter per inning. The good news here is that he has one of the best matchups around against the A’s who rank last in the league in team wOBA while striking out 24% of the time, fifth-most in the league. Pivetta won’t cost much and helps fitting in some more guys on offense. Pablo López FD 10000 DK 10100 Opponent - SF (Logan Webb) Park - SFFD - 35.88 DK - 19.19 I’m putting him under Pivetta here, not because he’s a worse pitcher, he’s actually much better, but because Lopez is much more expensive and doesn’t have quite the same win odds as Pivetta. The MIA-SF game is about even in terms of odds, though has a very low (7) run line. Lopez is striking out about 9.5 batters per nine this season with a 1.83 ERA though the 3.08 xFIP tells a slightly different story. I think pairing him and Pivetta on DK is completely fine and still leaves some wiggle room with the bats. Catcher/First Base Ty France FD 3500 DK 4900 Opponent - TEX (Glenn Otto) Park - TEXFD - 13.81 DK - 10.53 France is having an excellent season with an OPS right around .900 thanks to a better than 80% contact rate and a .151 ISO. In terms of OPS and wOBA, France has been around platoon neutral for his career, so we aren’t worried about the matchup against the righty Otto. The Mariners are projected for about 4.5 runs at this point, and France is coming at a fair price on both sites. Joey Votto FD 2800 DK 3100 Opponent - WSH (Erick Fedde) Park - WSHFD - 12.21 DK - 9.14 The Reds are tied for the highest implied run line on this slate at 5.2 and we are going to want to think about stacking this team in cash. They get to go in one of the best hitter’s park in baseball against Erick Fedde who’s had some control issues this season....

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 6/3/22 – Main Slate

Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD - P 10800 DK - SP 10900 Opponent - DET (Elvin Rodriguez) Park - NYYFD - 46.91 DK - 26.57 Cole is a massive, -325 favorite on Friday, easily one of the best money lines you’ll see for a starting pitcher. The win probability really can’t get all that much higher and he’s likely going to be one of the more popular plays on the slate. Cole is having one of his best seasons with a 2.75 xFIP while striking out more than 11 batters per nine and keeping the walks in the low 2’s. He’s just elite, that’s really all there is to it, and is facing off against a very weak Tigers team. Nathan Eovaldi FD 8800 DK 8000 Opponent - OAK (James Kaprielian) Park - OAKFD - 38.99 DK - 21.02 Eovaldi is a -162 road favorite against the A’s on Friday and offers one way to spend down a bit at pitching in order to fit some of the higher-priced bats. The righty has been solid this season, putting up a 6.5:1 K:BB ratio and striking out more than a batter an inning. The 3.13 xFIP is slightly better than the 3.77 ERA and he’s going close to six innings per start because of the efficiency. Oakland ranks dead last in team offense this season and is one of the best matchups to target from a DFS standpoint. I suspect Eovaldi will have a lot of ownership on this slate. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD 3600 DK 4300 Opponent - MIN (Chi Chi González) Park - MINFD - 14.32 DK - 10.79 There’s a game in Coors that we are going to get to here as well, but it’s hard to ignore the Blue Jays on this Friday slate facing off against Chi Chi González. The latter has pitched more than 260 major league innings with a 12.5% K rate and career 5.29 xFIP. You won’t see it get much worse than that. Meanwhile, Guerrero isn’t having quite the season he put up in 2021, but this is still one of the elite hitters in the game and Gonzalez has almost no chance of getting anything by him. There’s a reason the Blue Jays’ implied run line if pushing six right now. Matt Olson FD 4000 DK 4700 Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COLFD - 13.85 DK...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Tony Gonsolin FD - P 9800 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - NYM (Taijuan Walker) Park - LAD FD - 30.32 DK - 15.62 The pitching options are pretty sub-par tonight and at the top it comes down to three good, not great options who get average-at-best matchups. I slightly lean Gonsolin here due to his extreme consistency lately as he has tallied 20+ DK/33+ FD points in five straight and six of his last seven games. It can always be risky with the Dodgers pitching staff but more good news as Gonsolin has got up to 90 or more pitches in three straight. I can make a case for and against all three of the top pitchers tonight but Gonsolin is my favourite and top guy in all formats. Keegan Thompson FD - P 7700 DK - RP 6100 Opponent - STL (Matthew Liberatore) Park - CHC FD - 29.88 DK - 14.86 The optimal build on this slate is likely going to be stacking as many bats as possible and that means travelling to the bottom of the salary for a cheap SP2 on DraftKings. It feels like the chalk play will be Chris Flexen against the Orioles but I am pivoting to Keegan Thompson who has been stretched out into a starter's role and has been terrific. He comes into tonight having held opponents to just four earned runs over his last four appearances(three starts) while striking out 14 and walking just three. The matchup doesn't look great at first glance but the Cards are just league average(.309 wOBA/102 wRC+) against righties so at this price, I will take a shot in all formats. Catcher/First Base C.J. Cron FD 4200 DK 5500 Opponent - ATL (Ian Anderson) Park - ATL FD - 12.53 DK - 9.41 Let's kick things off with a trip to Coors and while I prefer the road Braves tonight, I am still wanting some pieces of the Rockies and it starts with C.J. Cron. Despite striking out more and walking less than he did in his first year in Colorado, he is off to a better start hitting over .300 with 13 home runs(4 at this time last year) and is sporting an elite .397 wOBA and 143 wRC+. It's a steep price, but he gets a plus matchup against Ian Anderson who has given up four earned runs in each of...
