Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD - P 10000 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - PIT (Zach Thompson) Park - MIL FD - 40.32 DK - 21.95 The early slate is loaded with pitching and it starts right at the top with Brandon Woodruff who is a part of an elite pitching staff in Milwaukee. The Brewers open as the biggest favourites(-245) on the slate in a terrific matchup against a bottom-five Pirates offence that has struck out over 27% of the time over the last two weeks. For Woodruff, he has gone 4-1 over his last five starts while allowing just five earned runs(1.73 ERA) and striking out 34% of batters he has faced. He tops my model, he tops our projections, and he is an elite play in all formats on Saturday. Carlos Carrasco FD 9000 DK 7500 Opponent - MIA (Braxton Garrett) Park - MIA FD - 32.82 DK - 16.89 There is a path to paying up for both pitchers on DraftKings today and while Kyle Wright would be my top choice, he has lacked strikeouts lately and faces a team who just doesn't swing and miss. This has me going down the board to find some value at the SP2 position and Carrasco is coming to us at a season-low price. This after a huge bounce-back effort in his last start where he allowed just one earned run to the Rangers while striking out eight over 5.2 innings. He now faces a struggling Marlins offence that has just a .276 wOBA and 79 wRC+ over the last two weeks. I will have exposure to Carrasco in all formats on DraftKings helping me to more bats. Catcher/First Base Christian Walker FD 3500 DK 3900 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COL FD - 10.54 DK - 7.99 The Diamondbacks' offence has looked a whole lot better as of late as they sit with a wRC+(115) over the last two weeks that is 25% higher than their 26th ranked season number(90). Walker has played a role in that success as he is hitting .286 over the last three weeks while getting on base at an elite .440 clip which has produced a personal 178 wRC+ in that time. He has also thrived against lefty pitching with a .442 wOBA/186 wRC+ in the split on the season. All things considered, Walker is my top PTS/$ play at first base...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Lucas Giolito FD 8800 DK 7800 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - DETFD - 39.55 DK - 21.45 Giolito comes in as a -174 home favorite against the Tigers on Friday and makes for one of the best cash game pitching options on the day. Though the 4.90 ERA might scare some people off, the xFIP is more than a run lower at 3.69 and he’s been bitten by some bad luck with a BABIP about 80 points higher than his career average. He’s facing a lowly Tigers team that sits near the bottom of the league in team wOBA and strikes out 24% of the time. Tyler Anderson FD 9000 DK 9400 Opponent - CHC (Keegan Thompson) Park - CHCFD - 38.19 DK - 19.83 Though Tyler Anderson doesn’t strike out batters at quite the rate we usually look for in cash games, he has plenty of other things going for him here. For starters, the ability to keep the ball on the ground and solid control has meant he’s been going around 6.5 innings per start this season, one of the higher rates in the league. He K’s fewer than eight batters per nine, but still has a. 4.5:1 K:BB rate because of the control. And he’s the biggest money line favorite on the day at -233 against the Cubs. Strongly consider Chris Bassitt (FD $9800 DK $8700) against the Marlins. Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD 3700 DK 4300 Opponent - WSH (Erick Fedde) Park - WSHFD - 13.02 DK - 9.69 The Braves come in with the highest run line of the day (5.8) facing off against Erick Fedde and the Nationals. Olson isn’t flashing quite the same power numbers that scored him a big contract with the Braves in the offseason, but he’s still been solid with an OPS in the 800s, a good walk rate, and he’s mashed righties for his career. He has an .879 OPS and 137 wRC+ in that split. The Braves could put a hurting on Fedde today. Anthony Rizzo FD 3700 DK 4800 Opponent - BOS (Connor Seabold) Park - BOSFD - 12.69 DK - 9.54 While I prefer a Braves stack to really any other team, the Yankees are in a good spot here against the Red Sox and Seabold. The latter doesn’t project to be the huge K guy he’s been in a short stint in the...

Pitchers Dylan Cease FD 10400 DK 9800 Opponent - DET (Beau Brieske) Park - DET FD - 44.59 DK - 24.74 There are some elite arms on this slate but Cease gets the edge as our top guy and it almost entirely comes down to matchup. While the Tigers have been much better in the short term(won four straight), they still rank bottom three in almost every statistical category on the season and have been slightly worse against right-handed pitching, as well. For Cease, he has been in the AL Cy Young conversation all season and has been especially good as of late holding opponents to just two earned runs over his last eight starts(.46 ERA) with a 33.1% K rate. Fire up Cease in all formats tonight, especially on DraftKings where he remains under $10K. Joe Musgrove FD 11100 DK 9700 Opponent - SF (Logan Webb) Park - SF FD - 40.65 DK - 21.73 The projections and optimizer already love paying up for both pitchers on DraftKings and with a real lack of value on the mound, it is really hammering that home tonight. Much like Cease, Musgrove is having a breakout season with some eye-popping numbers starting with his stamina as he has gone into the 6th inning in all 14 starts. Then it's the consistency that stands out as he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 12 of those starts(2.25 ERA) and he has also flashed big upside with 7+ strikeouts eight times. To cap it off, he comes at a sub $10K price tag on DraftKings and faces a struggling Giants team that is striking out over 24% over the last two weeks. Fire up Misgrove in all formats. Catcher/First Base C.J. Cron FD 4400 DK 5000 Opponent - ARI (Dallas Keuchel) Park - ARI FD - 14.13 DK - 10.62 We aren't normally targeting the Rockies' bats outside of Coors that is unless they are facing a lefty as they lead the league in wOBA(.354) in the split. Not only that, they get the best matchup on the board against Dallas Keuchel who has given up four or more earned runs in four straight starts(22 total). Cron is the most expensive bat on the team but still underpriced considering he is having an All-Star season hitting .297 with 20 home runs, 65 RBI, and an elite .382 wOBA. All things considered,...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/6/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/6/22 Tuesday's slate was interesting. Yusei Kikuchi was used in nearly 30 percent of the lineups out there, and he finished with negative fantasy points in most formats. That's just the obscurity in fantasy baseball, and many people should have considered the risk of using such a volatile pitcher like Kikuchi. That's why we like to pay up at that position, so let's kick things off with two high-priced pitchers! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shohei Ohtani FD - P 10800 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - MIA (Trevor Rogers) Park - MIA FD - 40.52 DK - 22.19 It blows my mind to think about what this guy is doing. Ohtani is not only one of the best hitters in our sport, but he's developed into an ace as well. His numbers as of late are genuinely absurd, accruing a 0.34 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, and 12.1 K/9 rate over his last four starts. That led to him scoring at least 33 FanDuel points in eight of his previous nine starts, which should be easy to attain here. We say that because the Marlins rank 17th in runs scored and 18th in OBP. That doesn't even consider that they're missing Jazz Chisholm and Jorge Soler, who are likely their two best hitters. Vegas loves him too, making the Angels a -180 favorite, with the Marlins projected for just 3.5 runs. Shane Bieber FD - P 10100 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - DET (Michael Pineda) Park - DET FD - 38.1 DK - 20.69 The Biebs is always a Cy Young candidate, and it's hard to understand why he's in this price range in such a magical matchup. Let's start there, with Detroit scoring the fewest runs in baseball while sitting bottom three in OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA as well. That should allow Bieber to bludgeon this nightmarish lineup, with Shane sporting a 2.65 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 9.9 K/9 rate over his last nine starts. He's absolutely destroyed Detroit throughout his career, too, scoring at least 46 FanDuel points in each of his last seven meetings with them dating back to 2019. That's why he's a -175 favorite in a game with a 7.5-run total. Corbin Burnes (FD $11200 DK $10500) has been one of the best pitchers in the NL over the last three years and is obviously a good option against a terrible Cubs offense. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD - 1B...

Pitchers Yusei Kikuchi FD 7900 DK 7800 Opponent - OAK (Adrian Martinez) Park - OAKFD - 35.45 DK - 18.79 Kikuchi has had a weird season. On the one hand, he’s got his K’s up to a 26% rate while striking out more than 10 batters per nine. But the walks have gotten a bit out of control as well, leading to him getting pulled from games early and averaging a little more than four innings per start. But on Tuesday he gets a great matchup against the A’s who rank dead last in offensive wOBA on the season and strike out nearly 24% of the time. Kikuchi is a -187 road favorite and is likely to be a popular play on this slate. Mitch White FD 7400 DK 7400 Opponent - COL (Germán Márquez) Park - COLFD - 32.16 DK - 16.3 Pitching is something of a problem on this main slate of games with not that much in the way up high upside. But White is a way to save some money on both sites and comes in as the biggest money line favorite on the day at -240 against the Rockies at home. Away from Coors, The Rockies has a paltry .638 team OPS and White has been solid since joining the rotation as a full-time starter. I like saving here and spending up on some bats, especially with the pitching options so weak. Catcher/First Base Darin Ruf FD 2600 DK 3100 Opponent - ARI (Tyler Gilbert) Park - ARIFD - 14.33 DK - 10.77 The Giants have a 5.7 implied run line on Tuesday, easily the highest of the day when they face off against lefty Tyler Gilbert and the Diamondbacks. Ruf isn’t having the same success at the plate this season that he saw in 2021 with the OPS sitting in the .600s right now. His Hr/RB rate is down by more than half from the last couple of years so there’s some run bad in there. But this is a guy who’s smashed lefties for his career with a .917 OPS and .389 wOBA in that split. I’m still willing to run him with this run line and based on his success in this platoon. Rhys Hoskins FD 3600 DK 4300 Opponent - WSH (Paolo Espino) Park - WSHFD - 12.53 DK - 9.3 The Phillies have a 5.4 implied run line,...
