Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 10/5/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 10/5/17 It was quite an opening night in the NHL and it started with the Leafs trampling over the Jets in Winnipeg and walking away with a 7-2 win. We then witnessed the Penguins banner and Stanley Cup ceremony as they opened at home but unfortunately for them, they fell short in a high scoring 5-4 loss. We then got treated to the famous "Battle of Alberta" but it ended up fairly one-sided as defending Hart Trophy winner, Connor McDavid put on a one-man show scoring all three Edmonton goals in a 3-0 shutout win. Then in the late game, the Flyers went cross country to San Jose with their new-look youth movement but were lead by veteran Wayne Simmonds and his hat-trick taking down the Sharks 5-3. Can anything top night one? Well, to start off we get double the games tonight(8) so I believe there is a very good chance you will be entertained once again. Let's jump right into the top picks at each position. Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. GOALIE Henrik Lundqvist FD - $8600 DK - $8400 Opponent - COL Proj Pts FD - 17.72 DK - 4.43 Tonight the chalk in net will most likely fall on King Henrik's shoulders but it makes a ton of sense. The Rangers will open the season at home and are currently big -200 favorites facing the Avalanche. Yes, those Avalanche who finished last season as the league's worst team with 48 points and not surprisingly they also ranked dead last in offense scoring just over two goals per game. For Lundqvist, he posted a career-low .910 save % in his 12th season but still managed to record 30 wins for the fourth straight and 11th time in his Hall of Fame career and I fully expect a rebound in 2017/18. He is safe in all formats, especially on FanDuel where he is fifth most expensive option....
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 10/4/17
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 10/4/17 ALL ABOARD!! Welcome to another awesome NHL season at DFSR. Chris Durell and myself will be co-driving the train again this season and we couldn't be more excited. We have a new team in the league this year, the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The team has hired a few gambling counselors I'm sure. There are so many superstars in the making and I could keep going on and on, but I'll save the talking for the article. Let's dive right into the picks shall we? If you want to see the numbers behind our projections, create lineups with a single click, or research as deeply as your heart desires, click the button below to test out yourself. MAKE NHL and NFL LINEUPS NOW! GOALIE Cam Talbot FD - $8300 DK - $8300 Opponent - CGY Proj Pts FD - 18.67 DK - 4.67 Did I mention that I'm excited about the NHL season? And guess what my friends? We get to witness the battle of Alberta on opening night. This rivalry isn't for the faint of heart and I totally recommend that you tune into this game. Edmonton is currently the biggest favorite of the night at -190 and I can't see the Flames putting up much of a fight here. Talbot has solidified himself as a top 10 tender and the Oilers look even better this year. Last season, the workhorse started 73 games which were seven more than any other goalie in the league. He had 42 wins, which was tied for first. He was second in the league with a GAA of 2.39, 14th with a save % of .919 and tied for third with seven shutouts. The Flames were ranked a below average 17th on offense last season and they don't look much better on paper this year. I can vision a lot of people flocking towards Jones against Philly, but I'm not a fan of San Jose this season, so I am all-in on Talbot here. He is an elite play in all formats. **Update: Oilers down to -150 favorites but still loving Talbot as an elite play in net** Matt Murray FD - $9100 DK - $8100 Opponent - STL Proj Pts FD - 18.65 DK - 4.66 If for some reason you don't like Talbot, then this two-time Lord Stanley champion is my second best choice on this small four-game slate. I'll warn you though that the Blues were ranked 12th on offense last season, but Pittsburgh's offense was ranked first in the league, so expect some goal support here. In 2016 Murray only played 49 games because of an injury, but he...
