He has yet to lose in regulation after four games while allowing only seven goals and with an impressive .943 save %. Tonight, the Montreal Canadiens come to town and they are playing in back-to-back road games after an awful 5-2 loss to San Jose last night. The Habs are ranked dead last in the league with only 1.50 goals scored per game and L.A. is playing some great hockey so far this season. Quick is an elite play in all formats and is easily my top goalie play of the day. CENTERS Auston Matthews FD - $8100 DK - $8200 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 18.11 DK - 5.2 In case you haven't noticed, this guy is the real deal. This is his team for many years to come and the city of Toronto may as well give him a key already because everyone loves him and with good reason. The second-year phenom already has five goals and three assists in six games to go along with 18 shots on goal. He also sees an ample amount of time on the powerplay and the penalty kill units in Toronto and the Leafs are ranked #1 in the league with 4.67 goals scored per game. GOALIE Craig Anderson FD - $8100 DK - $8300 Opponent - VAN Proj Pts FD - 16.43 DK - 4.11 After allowing four goals in the opening game vs. the Capitals, Anderson has been nearly flawless allowing just three goals in his last three games(.964 save%) including a shutout in Calgary in his last start. He should be well rested coming into this one as he got the night off on Saturday as the team found some offense in a 6-1 win over the Oilers. The matchup is about as good as it gets as the Sens are huge home favorites(-185) as the struggling Canucks travel across the country on their first road trip of the season. He is safe in all formats, especially on FanDuel where he comes a big discount as the 14th most expensive option. Cory Schneider FD - $8500 DK - $7900 Opponent - TB Proj Pts FD - 15.32 DK - 3.83 I prefer Anderson on both sites for cash games tonight but if you are looking to make a pivot in GPP's don't forget about Cory Schneider. He doesn't get near the matchup as the Lightning are currently ranked 5th in offense but they are playing on back to back nights on the road. The Devils have had a lot of early season success as they sit atop the Metropolitan Division and most of it falls on their defense and goaltending. GOALIE John Gibson FD - $8300 DK - $8100 Opponent - BUF Proj Pts FD - 18.05 DK - 4.51 The Ducks' #1 net-minder hasn't been in his best form to start the season as his GAA is 3.00 and his save % is .923 after four games, but he does have a 2-1-1 record so far and Anaheim has a plus matchup on home-ice this evening as they welcome the Buffalo Sabres to town who have a record of 0-4-1. This will be their third west-coast road game in four nights and they are ranked 23rd in the league on offense with a measly 2.20 goals scored per game. Gibson is my favorite goalie in all formats for this tiny three-game slate. Also Consider: Darcy Kuemper (LA) CENTERS Rickard Rakell FD - $6700 DK - $6600 Opponent - BUF Proj Pts FD - 10.83 DK - 3.1 With Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler injured, Rakell has had to step up and play a bigger role for his team and so far he has done a decent job. He has two goals and two assists in five games while averaging 4.2 shots on goal per game. He skates on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Ducks and tonight's opponent, the Buffalo Sabres have allowed a brutal 4.20 goals per game which is 2nd worst in the league so far this season. GOALIE Ben Bishop FD - $9000 DK - $7900 Opponent - COL Proj Pts FD - 17.73 DK - 4.43 The Dallas Stars are currently the biggest favorites(-210) on this huge 14-game slate and immediately pushes Bishop to the top of the list of goalies who are safe in all formats. It was a down year for Bishop in 2016-17 as he fought a knee injury and was limited to just 37 starts and posted a career-low .910 save %. He is off to a nice start with his new team this year already posting a .932 save % and will be heavily relied on as the top option after years of a two-headed monster in Dallas. He gets a nice matchup tonight vs. a young Avalanche team who is playing on back to back nights. Fire up Bishop in all formats. Jonathan Quick FD - $9000 DK - $8400 Opponent - BUF Proj Pts FD - 17.21 DK - 4.3 Right now I am leaning splitting Bishop and Quick in cash games, at least on FanDuel where they come at the same price. The Kings are currently the second biggest favorite(-185) on the slate at home to the Buffalo Sabres who are barely scoring two goals a game right now. Quick is coming off a down start where he allowed four goals on 37 shots but still holds an elite .948 save % through three games and has a terrific defensive team in front of him. The veteran netminder has been lights out with a .971 save % and has allowed only one goal in each of his three starts. Tonight he faces a Minnesota Wild team that got the short end of the straw having to start the season on a three-game road trip and have yet to pick up a victory. Crawford looks extremely dialed in at the moment and making him my favorite goalie in cash game formats. Jimmy Howard FD - $7900 DK - $7400 Opponent - ARI Proj Pts FD - 14.48 DK - 3.62 We have our cash game goalie picked out. Now we need a lower owned GPP option who happens to be having a great start as well and he is facing a weak opponent in the Arizona Coyotes. The veteran Howard has stopped 77 of 80 shots en route to two victories in as many starts so far this season. He is certainly showing Detroit it was a good idea to protect him in the Las Vegas expansion draft earlier this year. This is his crease in Detroit again and I love his matchup this evening against an offensively punchless Coyotes squad who is averaging just over 2.3 goals per game to start the season.
