Well, it's a tiny slate and I'm actually rather comfortable rostering this wily veteran today. His opponent, the Arizona Coyotes are ranked 26th in the league with 2.50 goals scored per game and they have an awful record of 1-10-1. They actually earned their first victory last night in overtime, but to expect back-to-back road victories on consecutive nights is probably not a good idea. Howard had a fantastic outing last time out as he stopped 44 of 46 shots in a victory against the Panthers and he has only given up more than three goals in one out of nine starts. The Red Wings are listed as -185 favorites today and Howard is easily my top goalie play in every single format. CENTERS Mika Zibanejad FD - $7200 DK - $6700 Opponent - VEG Proj Pts FD - 13.97 DK - 4.12 This young man is easily the Rangers' best center and he skates on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit. He has two goals, two assists and 10 shots on goal in his last three games and tonight it looks like Vegas will have their emergency fourth-string goalie between the pipes. Goalie Bob and the Jackets welcome the Bruins and their 16th ranked offense to town tonight who have scored only three goals in their last two games. Bobrovsky looks matchup-proof right now and he's money on home ice which makes him an elite play in all formats. Jaroslav Halak FD - $7700 DK - $7200 Opponent - VEG Proj Pts FD - 18.43 DK - 4.61 After a shaky start to the season, the Slovakian net-minder has earned a victory in each of his last three starts. Although he did allow eight goals in those three starts, he faced a whopping 106 shots. The NHL's newest franchise, the Vegas Golden-Knights travel to New York tonight and they've been tearing up the league in their first year, which means that Halak is not a "safe" play, but he offers huge upside for GPP formats as the Islanders allow a whopping 33.5 shots per game. GOALIE The goalie position is where the toughest choice is going to come on Sunday and we may not have a clear indication of who is starting for most teams until late morning so I am going to give you a quick rundown of the possibilities. The first game gives us the only confirmed goalie thus far in Scott Darling of the Hurricanes but he is nothing more than a deep GPP option as he has struggled early in the season with a .899 save % as he has given up three or more goals in three straight starts. For the Ducks, it was John Gibson getting the start on Saturday night and picking up the win but playing on back to back days it is very likely we will see Ryan Miller making his season debut as he was activated off injured reserve on Saturday. For cash games, I would feel more comfortable if Gibson was starting as he has been solid thus far with five wins and a .921 save %. The next game also has some question marks as the Penguins are also playing on back to back nights on the road and it was Matt Murray getting the start and the loss last night. If he is back in goal, he would be right up at the top of my list with Gibson as top cash game options but it is likely we will see rookie Casey DeSmith who has called up on Monday after Antti Niemi was put on waivers after his disastrous start vs. the Capitals. He has been an absolute workhorse this season as he is tied with Mike Smith of the Flames with 10 starts this season and has posted some tremendous numbers going 9-1 with 2.20 GAA and .936 save percentage with one shutout. Tonight he and the Lightning are big -175 home favorites as the Ducks come to town having won just one of three road games this season and sit in the bottom half of the league in offense to start the year. The Jets lost 2-1 in overtime last night in Pittsburgh, so this will be a tough outing this evening against Columbus who are ranked 5th defensively while allowing only 2.44 goals per game. Goalie Bob is fifth in league with five wins and look for him to earn another victory tonight. He is my favorite goalie in all formats. Corey Crawford FD - $9100 DK - $7700 Opponent - NAS Proj Pts FD - 17.94 DK - 4.49 While Bobrovsky is my favorite play in all formats today, this Canadian net-minder is a very close second. Crawford has had a great start to the year as he also has five wins to go along with a GAA of 2.13 and a .937 save percentage.
