Daily Fantasy NFL Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Cash Games – Week 2 – 9/16/18
Daily Fantasy NFL Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Cash Games - Week 2 - 9/16/18 6% of the NFL season is already in the books and I think we learned quite a bit from Week 1. Not to say we should go overboard with every single result, but some teams did show us how they plan on attacking the season. Week 2 offers plenty of value and looks like a situation where we will want to pay up for (at least) two running backs. Let's take a look at some of the cash game considerations for DraftKings and FanDuel. Quarterback Alex Smith FD 7100 DK 6000 Opponent IND Proj Points FD - 19.45 DK - 20.09 Alex Smith came into his first game as a Redskin and basically just did a bunch of Alex Smith things. He completed 70% of his passes (21/30) for 255 yards and two touchdowns against the Cardinals in a game where Washington wasn’t challenged even in the slightest. In very Alex Smith-fashion, he ended the week with the fewest (3.3) averaged intended yards of any quarterback on the week, meaning he kept the air attack short and sweet. He was also good for eight rushes, an aspect of his game that helped raise his fantasy floor last season (60/355/1 on the year) and makes him a rather ideal cash game play at these prices. He’ll rarely blow it out of the box, but in this middle-of-the-pack pricing it’s tough to imagine him just destroying lineups. Washington draws the Colts at home after the latter allowed a 75% completion percentage to Andy Dalton in Week 1. Dalton only attempted 28 passes, but was ultra-efficient against a Colts’ defense that put him under almost no pressure (three total hits on the QB). Smith worked the possession game in Week 1, spreading targets without every really needing to get the wide receivers in the mix. He has enough options to pick apart the the Colts’ D with the only real issue coming if they want to establish a ground game with Peterson early. Ben Roethlisberger FD 7600 DK 6900 Opponent KC Proj Points FD - 20.14 DK - 21 While the hype training is running completely out of control for the quarterback on the other side of this matchup, I’m...

DFS NFL Talk - Look Back at Week 2 and Ahead to Week 3 - 9/19/17 DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take to the Tuesday NFL podcast looking back at Week 2 and ahead to Week 3. There’s a lot to dissect here after a pretty exciting week of football. First they look at how some of the Week 2 injuries to guys like Greg Olsen, Corey Coleman and Jordan Howard could effect things for their teams going forward. They also look at some of the performances of Week 2 and try to discern if this is the level of production we can expect from guys like Jay Ajayi, Jarvis Landry, Chris Carson and Alshon Jeffrey. And finally they discuss Kareem Hunt’s early season returns and Le’Veon Bell’s price drop across the industry. All of this and more on the NFL podcast for FanDuel and DraftKings. For this article we’ll cover some more cash game considerations as well as some tournament targets. We've got you completely covered. Julio Jones FD 8800 DK 9200 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 16.05 DK - 19.23 This isn’t a “sleeper” article so we’ll lead off with the top projected WR on the slate. He didn’t make our cash game article because of the price and Julio’s tendency over the last couple of seasons to almost disappear from games. That was the case in Week 1 in which he finished with a 4/66 line on 5 measly targets. It was an inauspicious start for arguably one of the top 3 WRs in the league. But Julio’s issue (and it was the problem last year) is complete inconsistency in his week-to-week performances. He was one of the most volatile wide outs in the league last year and had extreme peaks and valleys in his performances. That makes him a concern for cash game structures where you are often paying top dollar for a player who doesn’t locked in targets each game. But the Falcons are in a fantastic spot here at home in a game that should be a shootout. He’s a clear GPP target and that isn’t going out on a limb, but I’d caution against using him in “safer” contests. Keenan Allen FD 7100 DK 5800 Opponent MIA Proj Points FD - 13.96 DK - 17.3 When healthy, Allen has one of the some of the best per game target numbers you’ll seen. “When healthy” is the operative term here though because he played only one half of the first game last season before going down with a torn ACL (though I should note he was 6/63 on 7 targets in that half). He came back and picked up right where he left off in the target department in Week 1, leading the team with 10 though he only converted it to a 5/35 game. But that was against a tough Denver defense secondary of Aqib Talib and Chris Harris. The Dolphins don’t have anything close to that kind of one-on-one...
Daily Fantasy Football Running Back Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2 – 9/17/17
Daily Fantasy Football Running Back Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2 - 9/17/17 We already covered Ezekiel Elliott, Melvin Gordon and Ty Montgomery in our main picks article article. For this article we’ll cover some more cash game considerations as well as some tournament targets. Unlike Week 1, the ownership at RB in cash games could be much more spread out with some rookies taking off last Sunday and other chalkier guys falling short. Let’s take a look at some of the other Week 2 RB’s we can consider Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL optimizer for FanDuel and DraftKings, our MLB Optimizer, and our new Player Lab! We've got you completely covered. Le'Veon Bell FD 9000 DK 9800 Opponent MIN Proj Points FD - 18.39 DK - 20.6 Well, it didn’t take long for Bell to fall out of the main set of picks. That’ll happen when your Week 1 looked something like his 10/32/0 ground game against a Cleveland team horrific against the run last season. It was a brutal performance by a highly-owned Bell who now leave many of us wondering about his role going forward. It isn’t smart to completely overreact to one game, especially for a guy who missed the whole preseason, but it’s at least a little concerning how much the Steelers used him. That being said, we are likely to get low ownership on a guy who has as much week-to-week upside as anyone in the game. Bell is elite, and it’s hard to imagine too many weeks like last one. He doesn’t draw a great matchup Christian McCaffrey FD 6600 DK 5600 Opponent BUF Proj Points FD - 14.46 DK - 16.56 The overall output wasn’t anything to write home about (to his famous, former pro dad Ed) but there’s a lot to like about McCaffrey’s first game in the pros. He though Jonathan Stewart led the team in carries, McCaffrey out-snapped the former 47 to 29 (per FantasyData) and the two finished with the same amount of overall relative volume (Rush Att + Targets) at 20 looks total. One very much has to assume this is the Panthers’ plan this season after showing their hand in Week 1 and outside of some gross incompetence on the of CMc, you’d have to think they choose to favor the rookie going forward. I love the upside here and think he comes in wildly underowned based on a...
