Divisional Round of Playoffs I don't know about you but I absolutely love playoff DFS football. Believe me, I didn't always enjoy it or any small slate for that matter but the biggest lesson I have learned this season is to EMBRACE the variance. Don't look at the small four-game slate and think there are going to be tons overlapping lineups(obvious), rather dig deeper and find ways to make small pivot plays to separate yourself. When I play GPP's on a smaller slate I will narrow my core plays and build around them. Last week, for instance, I was very high on the Packers stack so I had multiple lineups with combinations of Rodgers with Nelson, Adams, Cobb and even Cook. When Nelson went down it hurt about half my Rodgers lineups but it was the other half that seen a huge boost, especially the two with Rodgers/Cobb/Adams. Even with just four points from my TE(Fiedorowicz), I placed high in multiple tournaments. Another way to be contrarian on a small slate is to go against projected game script. To do this stack a team's pass game when they are favorites in the game and expected to run a ton. Another way to help with overall ownership is to target the player who is coming off a bad week or his teammate coming off a huge week. There is so much foreshadowing here! Moving on. Before getting into my stacks for the week, don't forget to check out the Main Picks Article and the If you haven't already be sure to go check out the FREE three day trial of the projections system, Player Lab, and Lineup Optimizer. Ok let's get started. Seattle Seahawks QB - Russell Wilson Elite Option - Doug Baldwin Secondary Options - Jimmy Graham, Paul Richardson Right out of the gate I am going to go a bit contrarian as I am fully confident a large number of people will be chasing the points of Thomas Rawls after his explosion last week. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is a bad play, especially on a small slate but like I mentioned above it can be the pivot plays that allow you to make...

Wildcard Round of Playoffs The grinding 17 weeks of the regular have come to an end but that doesn't mean the end of daily fantasy football. Luckily we still have three more weeks to pad our bankrolls for DFS PGA, NHL, NBA and soon NASCAR and MLB. The tricky part about Wildcard weekend is that we only have four games to build our lineups around. This increases the ownership of the "obvious" plays making it harder to differentiate yourself in tournaments. I will once again turn to the Player Lab to break down the players and their matchups to help make the most successful tournament lineups. The difference this week is the absence or limitations of some of the filters due to the limited field of players. Let's take a look. When looking at the quarterbacks this week I eliminated the "High Vegas O/U" filter. I did this as there are no games with a total that exceeds 46 points with three of the four games within a two-point projection. Instead, I turned to my two favorite filters throughout the season(High Team Pass Yards & TD %) which narrowed the field down to four options. The big thing that stood out to me from there was the extreme reliance on the pass that both the Giants and Packers showed this season. It has almost everything to do with both of those teams having little to no run game, especially in the red zone. This week more than any other I look at historical stats more than Defense vs. Position as most of the horrible defenses will be at home watching this week and I am not talking about the teams on BYE. As you can probably tell I will be kicking off the stacks with the Packers so let us get started. If you are interested in more than stacks, be sure to check out the Main Picks Article and Game by Game Breakdown Podcast posted on the homepage. Green Bay Packers QB - Aaron Rodgers Elite Option - Jordy Nelson Secondary Option - Devante Adams Heading right to Sunday night's game to kick off the picks this week with the hottest quarterback in football. Looking back all the way to Week 11 against the Redskins, which was their last loss, Aaron Rodgers...

Week 17 NFL Stacks Depending on your risk tolerance, Week 17 is either the most or least favorite week of the daily fantasy football season. There is really no in between as there are so many varying situations across the entire league. Before we get into reviewing last week's stacks let's take a look at some of the scenarios which should help paint a better picture of which teams will be motivated to win on Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Houston Texans are the only four teams who are locked into their playoff seed. The New England Patriots have clinched a BYE in the Wild Card round but still have top seed to play for. The Oakland Raiders will steal that #1 seed with a win and Pats loss but will lose the#2 seed if they lose and the Chiefs win. Green Bay and Detroit will face off in Primetime which will decide the NFC North. If the Redskins lose earlier in the day, both the Packers and Lions will automatically be in the playoffs. If the Redskins win, Sunday night's game will also be a win or go home for both teams. Atlanta, Seattle and Detroit will also all be battling for the #2 seed in the NFC. Miami is locked into the playoffs but could move up to the #5 seed with a win over the Pats and a Chiefs loss. And the best one of all. The Bucs still have a chance to make playoffs. Check this out: If all of the following happens, the Buccaneers are in the playoffs. The chances of it happening are SLIM pic.twitter.com/RHgDQgTb7g — ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) December 25, 2016 Now that we looked at some scenarios, let's take a quick look at my grading for my Wek 16 stacks. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The projections came in pretty darn close on the Bucs last week. Winston was projected for 39 pass attempts and 20DraftKings points. He ended up tossing it up 35 times and ended up completing 23 for 277 yards and two touchdowns and came within 1.5 points of his DK projection. Mike Evans was his #1 target as expected and he didn't disappoint catching...

Week 16 NFL Stacks Santa came early this year as we are gifted with a big 12 game slate on Christmas Eve(Saturday) with one afternoon and one primetime game on Christmas Day. With just two divisions clinched(Patriots in AFC East & Seahawks in NFC West) there is still a lot on the line with two weeks to play. This is great news for fantasy as we won't have to worry about resting players. This adds to the safety of playing daily fantasy football at the end of the season. For the most part, we know players roles and most teams gameplans. I say most teams as there are a few where I still scratch my head and wonder why. Yes, I am talking about you Minnesota Vikings. I will save that rant for another time and place. Before we dig into this week's top stacks, I always like to take a look back at what worked and this week specifically.... what didn't. After reviewing my failing grades below I have come to the conclusion that game flow and weather played a huge role in the QB/WR stacks last week. I am not going to tweak my process on the Player Lab significantly based off the results of one week but rather make small adjustments based on the data from an entire season. Let's take a look. Green Bay Packers - In freezing cold temperatures, the Packers pulled out a huge win on the back of their wide receiver turned running back Ty Montgomery who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on just 16 carries. Overall, the Packers rushed for a total of 226 yards and three touchdowns which limited Aaron Rodgers to 252 yards through the air with no touchdowns. It's too bad he couldn't have picked up a few more yards and a touchdown or two as the ownership(3% on DraftKings) presented a huge opportunity. The stack wasn't all negative as Jordy Nelson racked up 124 yards catching seven balls with a team-high 10 targets. He has now received double-digit targets in five of the Packers last seven games. GRADE D Buffalo Bills - Another frustrating game from a stacking perspective as the Bills literally ran all over the Browns on Sunday....

Andrew also joined DFSR co-owner Doug Norrie on Thursday's NFL Value Plays Podcast to discuss his lineup construction and Sunday sweat while the games were on. Be sure to check those out. Before jumping into Week 15 we will, as always, breakdown the stacks that were recommended in last week's article. Let's take a look. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Everything pointed to a big game from Jameis Winston and the Bucs. Things didn't go exactly as planned as the Bucs ended up relying on a run heavy(35 attempts) gameplan limiting Winston to just 26 pass attempts. My initial thought was that Drew Brees didn't have to be great but if he could do just enough against the Bucs defense Winston would be forced to throw 30 or more times. This did not happen as Brees has now gone back to back weeks without throwing a touchdown. This played a huge part in the F grade I am giving the stack but realize that it was the opponent and not a 100% failure by Winston. GRADE F New York Giants - The Sunday night game ended up being a boring, slow paced, defensive battle that was mostly a disappointment from a fantasy perspective. I should have seen it coming as it was the second game of the series between the division rivals this season which more time than not favors the defenses. The thought was that it would be a low owned, contrarian approach but what I missed was that these two teams have huge fan followings which ended up leading Eli to the third highest ownership(8%) at the position. If you did play the stack Odell Beckhm Jr. saved the day a bit with a 61 yard touchdown, ending up with four catches on a game high nine targets for 94 yards. GRADE C Green Bay Packers - The one contrarian approach that did pay off last week was...
