There’s a ton to discuss as we head into the first Sunday of Week 1 Football. In addition to discussing some of their cash game plays highlighted from the previous podcast, they also look at GPP plays you can make. They see the Raiders/ Titans game as potentially having a ton of tournament value in both of their respective passing games. Another high profile game is of course the Seahawks and Packers which also has the biggest over/under on the week. There’s a ton to get into looking at every game for Week 1 FanDuel and DraftKings. Daily Fantasy Football Wide Receiver GPP Targets for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 1
Daily Fantasy Football Wide Receiver GPP Targets for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 1 Once you get past the upper elite tier of WR1 the volatility at the position gets a little rough. So we've got to find some WR plays that possibly break from the pack. We wrote up Antonio Brown, Jordy Nelson, Larry Fitzgerald and Alshon Jeffery in our Week 1 DFS Cash game plays article. Here we’ll explore some other WR and TE options you can consider for Week 1. We've got you completely covered. Terrelle Pryor FD 6200 DK 6100 Opponent PHI Proj Points FD - 12.57 DK - 14.86 He was damn close to being included in the main picks article and honestly probably should have been there. We are super high on Pryor coming into the season with a team switch and an upgrade at quarterback as just a few reasons for the optimism. Pryor showed flashes of major upside last season with 7 of his 16 games seeing 10+ targets and three games over 100 yards. And that was with a cavalcade of losers cycling through the Browns’ quarterback ranks. This year he gets Kirk Cousins’ 67% completion percentage (2016) and 214 total targets moving to other teams in the forms of Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. That’s a pretty damn big void to fill and a solid talent moving into the position. I’m typically not a fan of wide receivers moving to new teams, especially to start the season. But this strikes me as an exception to that “rule”. Pryor is in a fantastic spot and could be a cash game staple in some DFSR lineups. When we use DFSR's Player Lab to filter down wide receivers based on certain, high upside criteria: We get a couple of options: Now Crabtree came as part of Chris's GPP stacking article but the other is: Kelvin Benjamin FD 6500 DK 5900 Opponent SF Proj Points FD - 12.78 DK - 15.14 My man didn’t look good coming into the preseason but who’s ever let a little extra body weight hold him back? He’s a candidate for a bounce back season after struggling along with Cam last year to maintain any type of accuracy and consistency. Benjamin came out of the gate fast last season, putting up a 13/199/3 in the first...
Daily Fantasy Football Team Defense Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 1 – 9/10/17
Daily Fantasy Football Team Defense Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 1 - 9/10/17 Another season of DFS NFL is upon us and if you have played before you know the importance of picking a team defense. While some will just scroll to the bottom and pick the cheapest team in a good situation, I like spending up in the mid to upper tier to get access to a much higher ceiling. A few factors I consider when researching defenses is the individual player's talent level, the ranking of the opponents offensive line and quarterback and I also consider what Vegas thinks of the game in terms of game and team totals. Let's dig in and take a look at a few of my favorite defenses for week one. We've got you completely covered. Top Defenses Los Angeles Rams There is certainly a lot to like about the Rams defense in week one. Despite ranking 23rd in takeaways(18) in 2016, they ranked second overall in sacks(49) which give them a high floor right off the bat. Then you consider they will be facing a and already beat up Colts team that will be starting Scott Tolzien who has attempted just 37 passes in his NFL career and add to it that the Colts have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. It also helps that the Rams should be able to score some points and get up on the Colts considering they are missing their top corner Vontae Davis. Look for new Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips to turn up the heat on Tolzien and the Colts which should benefit our fantasy lineups with multiple sacks and possible multiple turnovers. They will be the chalk this week but safe in all formats. Buffalo Bills The Bills make a nice play at defense for a couple reasons this week. First of all, Josh McCown and the Jets have the lowest team total of the week and were second to only the Chargers in 2016 in giveaways with 34 with no real light at the end of the tunnel in 2017. The Bills, much like the Rams, ranked lower overall in takeaways but ranked fourth in sacks with 46 on the season. Given they are the most expensive defense on DraftKings and 6th most expensive on FanDuel, it is...
DFS NFL Talk Week 1 FanDuel and DraftKings – Cash Game Plays 9/6/17
DFS NFL Talk Week 1 FanDuel and DraftKings - Cash Game Plays 9/6/17 DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take to the NFL podcast discussing Week 1 cash game value plays for FanDuel and DraftKings. After a full off season we are back with thoughts on how to attack cash games on both sites. They start with quarterback, looking at Aaron Rodgers as a safer play even against a perceived strong defense in Seattle. He was the second most consistent quarterback last season and this game has a great over/under in his favor. They also look at Cam Newton, Russell Wilson and Carson Wentz (DraftKings). At running back the discussion obviously revolves around David Johnson and Le’Veon Bell who rate out of the highest raw points plays on the week (by far). But the guys also spend some time on Todd Gurley. For receiver they discuss Antonio Brown, Jordy Nelson, Alshon Jeffrey and Terrell Pryor. All of this and more on a full NFL Podcast for Week 1 on FanDuel and DraftKings. Subscribe to this podcast on...
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 1 – 9/10/17
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 1 - 9/10/17 Welcome back for another exciting season of daily fantasy football. I will once again be bringing you my top stacking options each week using the DFSR projections and lineup optimizer. If you are playing tournaments on the regular, you likely understand that to win we have to sometimes pivot off the more popular plays and find that "diamond in the rough". From a stacking perspective, I will also be looking closely at the FanShareSports most tagged list and sentiment ratings to identify some possible low-owned stacking options. Also, be sure to check out the Main Article which goes over the top picks from a position by position perspective. We've got you completely covered. Top Stacks for the Week Atlanta Falcons Quarterback - Matt Ryan Primary Target - Julio Jones Secondary Targets - Taylor Gabriel, Devonta Freeman The architect behind last years league-leading offense, Kyle Shanahan, has moved on to San Francisco but the Falcons will be in good hands. Former OC at Alabama, Steve Sarkisian, steps into a fantastic situation in Atlanta and although cliche, feels he can improve the offense. That is a tall order considering they averaged 33.8 points per game which is a full 4.5 points per game more than New Orleans who finished second. From a DFS perspective, they are a team that we can stack in a few different ways and it starts with MVP Matt Ryan. I used the DFSR Player Lab with the "High Vegas O/U" filter set to >49 and the "High Passing Yards" filter set to >275 it gave us Ryan and Rodgers. I lean Matt Ryan in Week 1 for a couple reasons and it starts with the 309 yards per game and league-leading 9.3 yards per attempt he put up in 2016. It helps when you have arguably the best wide receiver in the league in Julio Jones at your disposal. He led all receivers in 2016 with 100.6 yards per game and ended up with the fourth-best yards per catch(17.0). If you are looking for a little more value you can also roll with Taylor Gabriel who didn't have a 100-yard game last year but did score six touchdowns using his electric speed. To be a little more contrarian with your stacks you could also throw Devonta...
