Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 4 – 10/1/17
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 4 - 10/1/17 I would love to tell you that Week 3 went exactly as planned and I came out on top but that would be an outright lie! All three stacks were a major disappointment and were very damaging to my bankroll. The Redskins defense took the words from the Raiders wideouts to heart and shut them down completely. The Redskins defense took the words from the Raiders wideouts to heart and shut them down completely. Both Cooper and Crabtree were held to just one reception while Derek Carr totaled just 118 yards and threw two interceptions. Cam Newton continued to look rusty(I can't use the words that came out of my mouth on Sunday) as he was also held under 200 yards and threw three interceptions while only rushing three times for 16 yards. Without the added yards and fantasy points on the ground, Cam is nothing more than an average QB at this point. Then there was the Chargers who couldn't take advantage of a fairly vulnerable Chiefs defense that is allowing 250+ yards through the air per game. Phillip Rivers looked like he was ready to head back to San Diego where at least the fans showed up. He threw for just 237 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions. Keenan Allen did get the largest target share(9) but couldn't make much of it with just five catches for 61 yards while it was Travis Benjamin who hit value with 105 yards. That's right, a big giant goose egg in Week 3 but the good news is that it's now behind us and we have yet another week to get back on track. One thing to pay attention to this week is the changes DraftKings made to their main slate this week. They have removed the Sunday night game which gives us just 12 games on the main slate for the Milli Maker contest. There is also another game in London this week with the Saints and Dolphins going head to head at Wembley Stadium. Let's jump in and take a look at some of the top stacks this week. Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 3 – 9/24/17
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 3 - 9/24/17 Week two went a little better than week one but we still have a lot of room for improvement. Before getting into this week's picks, let's take a look back at the results from last week. First up was the Falcons and while they scored 34 points, two of the touchdowns came from Devonta Freeman on the ground thus limiting Matt Ryan to 28 pass attempts and 252 yards with one touchdown. Julio rebounded and had a big day, however, catching five of his nine targets for 108 yards. The correlation play of Jordy Nelson didn't work out as he left early with an injury and did not return. The Patriots paid off in a big way as Tom Brady balled out completing 30 of 39 passes for 447 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns hit our targets as Gronk caught six of nine targets for 116 yards and a touchdown and Chris Hogan caught five of his six targets for 78 yards and a touchdown. Your guess is as good as mine with Brandin Cooks only getting four targets with two catches and 37 yards. He will most likely be a boom or bust player all season so use him in GPP only moving forward. The contrarian stack failed miserably as Jared Goff was limited to just 25 pass attempts vs. the Redskins and racked up just 224 yards and one touchdown. My PPR favorite, Cooper Kupp, also let us down with just three catches on six targets. This week should be another nice week for stacking as there are six games with a Vegas Total over 46, two over 50 and we also get some tight spreads with just one team coming in as a double-digit favorite(NE -13.5 vs. HOU). Let's jump right in and take a look at a couple of the top stacks and my contrarian stack of the week. Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2 – 9/17/17
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week - 9/17/17 The chalk pretty much failed all around in week one and if you took a quick peek at the Top 10 fantasy players(via FantasyPros), you would probably just shake your head. I mean, Kareem Hunt and Alex Smith top the list and while we see a familiar face in Antonio Brown in the three spot, he is followed by the Jags and Rams defense, Stefon Diggs, Matt Stafford, Tyreke Hill, Sam Bradford, Tarik Cohen, and the Ravens defense. The point of listing those is so that we understand the importance of not overreacting to one week and letting it affect your process. With that said, let's dive right into the top stacking options for Week #2. Atlanta Falcons Quarterback - Matt Ryan Primary Option - Julio Jones Correlation Option - Jordy Nelson This stack was a bust last week as the Falcons only ran a total of 55 plays with Matt Ryan attempting just 30 passes but I am back on the train in week 2 in a much better matchup. As you can see above, I used the DFSR player Lab and set just two filters(High Vegas O/U & Thin Spread) to break the field down to two quarterbacks. What I like most about this is the fact they are playing each other this week. Only the Patriots/Saints game has a higher total but this game has the highest total of any game with less than a 3.5 point spread for either team. That is very important when stacking as close games with high totals forces both teams to keep throwing and more throws equal more opportunities to get fantasy points for your QB/WR combo. Julio is by far my top option to pair with Matt Ryan as he gets one of the best matchups of the week going up against the Packers secondary. I also list Jordy Nelson as a correlation play strictly due to the filters I am using above. The gameflow is projected to be high-scoring with both quarterbacks throwing a ton so I want a piece of Nelson with my Julio/Ryan stacks and vice versa, I want Julio with some of my Rodgers/Nelson stacks. Both teams will be chalky but the added correlation of the opposing...
Daily Fantasy Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2 – 9/17/17
Daily Fantasy Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2 - 9/17/17 Ah, Week 2 in the NFL: the time where we take everything we saw in Week 1 and completely overreact to it. Week 1 was a equal parts boring and unpredictable with much of the chalk showing up as non-existent and some weird outlier performances that folks will likely put too much weight on. It’s always good to take the first week in the NFL with a relative grain of salt and work to separate the signal from the noise. That can be a difficult proposition. But Week 1 did give us some takeaways that we can apply to the second week for FanDuel and DraftKings. Let’s get into it. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers FD 9100 DK 7400 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 23.05 DK - 23.56 This list is going to look awfully similar week and week out from our system’s perspective as long as Rodgers’ maintains the same price level and advantageous matchups. Last week saw Rodgers face a stout defensive line in against Seattle and still rack up 311 yards passing on 42 attempts and 21 yards on the ground. He’s the consummate fantasy quarterback with the ability to extend plays, accuracy through the air and an offensive committed to the pass. He’ll get a chance to put up a bigger game this week against the Falcons in what Vegas has as the highest total/ thin spread game (54 o/u ATL -1.5). The Falcons allowed 301 total yards of offense to the Bears in Week 1 and the Packers’ O is degrees better than that group. Rodgers is expensive but I think you realize enough savings at the other positions to warrant it this week. Russell Wilson FD 8100 DK 6800 Opponent SF Proj Points FD - 21.63 DK - 22.39 Wilson is a big time candidate for a bounce back week this time around after struggling against the Packers on Sunday. Seattle was crushed in time of possession (39 min to 21 min) thanks to some struggles on the offensive line, the inability to get the ground game going and playing from behind late in the game. Look for much of that to correct in Week 2 with a fantastic matchup against the 49ers. With...
DFS NFL Talk Week 2 – Look Back at Week 1 and Ahead to Week 2 – 9/13/17
DFS NFL Talk Week 2 - Look Back at Week 1 and Ahead to Week 2 - 9/13/17 DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take to the Tuesday NFL pod looking back at a crazy (and kind of boring) Week 1 in football. First they talk about heading up to Boston for the DraftKings Week 1 Kickoff Bash and how you cold tell the mood of the week just by sitting at the watch party. Then they breakdown some of the takeaways of the bigger performance for Week 1. The story was the rookie runnings backs Kareem Hunt, Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette all leading their teams in touches. This is a welcome sign going forward as they’ll be the feature backs. They also look at some of the wide receiver performances and takeaways on who may have been lucky/ unlucky there. All of this and more at a look back at Week 1 and look ahead to Week 2 in the NFL.
