DFS NFL Talk – Week 8 Recap and Looking Ahead to Week 9 10/31/2017
DFS NFL Talk - Week 8 Recap and Looking Ahead to Week 9 10/31/2017 DFSR's Doug Norrie and James Davis take a look back at Week 8 in the NFL for FandDuel and DraftKings while also looking at some relevant news for Week 9. The big story from this morning is the Miami Dolphins trading RB Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles. This almost immediately bolsters a Philly running attack already ranked fourth in the running yards from scrimmage. The question will be whether Ajayi is available on FD or DK considering he started the week on the Dolphins. They also talk about Deshaun Watson and if his stats are sustainable long-term. Then they break down some of the other bigger performances of the week. All of this and much more on a full Week 8 recap. Subscribe to this podcast on...
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 8 – 10/29/17
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 8 - 10/29/17 Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy football. As we always do, let's take a look back and see how I did with my stack recommendations from last week. Overall, it was not a great week for stacking as there were only seven quarterbacks to throw for 300+ yards and two of them(Alex Smith & Derek Carr) played Thursday Night and one more(Kirk Cousins) on Monday Night. That left just four that hit the 300-yard mark on the main slate Sunday and unfortunately, none were in my stacking article. Needless to say, my bankroll took a hit. It was unfortunate for my Cardinal stacks that signal caller, Carson Palmer, was injured in the second quarter but it didn't appear he was going to reach value anyway(10 for 18 for 122 yards before leaving) as the Rams defense was stout and ended up shutting out the Cardinals. Next, I had Mariota and Decker who had a great matchup vs. the Browns who had averaged 26.6 points against per game going in but they couldn't take advantage as either team managed to rack up 300 total yards of offense. Mariota completed 21 of 34 passes for 204 yards but still was hesitant to use his legs(1 rush for 8 yards) two weeks after returning from an injury. Don't even get me started on Erick Decker who had a near elite matchup but managed to put a goose egg. Finally, we got the Super Bowl rematch which had the highest Vegas total of the week and both quarterbacks projecting for big games. I favored Matt Ryan who faced a Patriots defense that had allowed the most DraftKings points per game to the quarterback position. FAIL! The Patriots picked up right where they left off in February and ended up scoring the first 23 points of the game before Matt Ryan finally put up some fantasy points with a touchdown to Julio Jones late in the game. With all that disappointment in the rearview mirror, let's move on to Week 8 on the NFL schedule and see if we can rebound with a GPP win. It will be another interesting week with six teams on a bye, a Thursday and Monday night game, and another early game in London. For the purpose of this article, I will once again be concentrating on the nine-game Sunday slate(10 games on FanDuel). Let's get started. Daily Fantasy Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 8 – 10/25/17
Daily Fantasy Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 8 - 10/25/17 It's time for Week 8 and an odd one when looking at the main slate of games. Six teams are on byes, there's an early game in London and DK isn't counting the PIT/ DET game on Sunday night. That's going to make for one of the shorter NFL slates your likely to see and significantly reduces the player pool. But we can still find some value. Let's take a look at Week 8 NFL for FanDuel and DraftKings. We've got you completely covered. Quarterback Carson Wentz FD 7900 DK 7200 Opponent SF Proj Points FD - 21.31 DK - 22.23 The Eagles are firing on all cylinders right now and own the best record in football. That’s thank in very large part to Wentz who’s somewhat quietly become one of the top fantasy (and real) quarterbacks in the league. Wentz ranks 4th in quarterback fantasy points per game this season behind only Dak, Watson and Smith. He isn’t incredibly accurate (62% completion percentage) but has weapons at his disposal and has been content spreading the love around after his top target in Ertz. He also takes to the ground in a big way where he is third overall in quarterback rushing yards. The Eagles have the highest implied total on the week (30.25) against a bottom third pass defense in the 49ers. The price has come up, but completely into the upper tier yet. There’s some blowout risk (-13) which could impact his fantasy upside if Philly just takes to the ground to wind down the game. But on a shorter main slate Wentz comes in as the top option. Cam Newton FD 7800 DK 6600 Opponent TB Proj Points FD - 21.26 DK - 22.11 This isn’t a safe play by any means, but we have seen a price drop on Cam (rightfully so) over the last two weeks thanks to some subpar performances. He had two disastrous interceptions for pick 6’s in the first half on Sunday and they simply couldn’t sustain any drives. It’s been a tale of two Cams this season with his performances basically either amazing or awful. I like Wentz considerably more, but Cam has a great matchup against the Buc who rank dead last in defensive...
