DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Wednesday, 12/8/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 12/8/21 I love basketball as much as anyone, but these scheduling decisions are silly. We should not have three games on Tuesday and then 13 games on Wednesday! That doesn't make sense, and it's hard to understand why the NBA does this. From a DFS perspective, trying to navigate 26 different teams with injuries and COVID is very tough. Luckily, we've buckled down here and feel like we have a good read on what's going on. With that said, there will inevitably be some chaos before lock, so be sure to check injury reports before 7ET! Point Guard Kyle Lowry FD - $6500 DK - $7200 Opponent - MIL Proj Pts FD - 33.54 DK - 35 With Jimmy Butler reaggravating his tailbone issue on Monday, it looks like he'll sit again here. That's bad news for Miami with Bam Adebayo out as well, but good news for Lowry's fantasy value. With those guys off the floor, Lowry has a 21 percent usage rate while averaging 1.1 DK points per minute. I thought that usage would be higher, but it's encouraging to see him be so productive because that rate will inevitably increase. Those injuries have opened up some ceiling games for Lowry, too, scoring at least 37 fantasy points in seven of his last 14 games. That'd be a monster total from someone in this price range, and we certainly don't mind that Lowry averaged 37 DK points per game against Milwaukee last season. Dennis Smith Jr. FD - $5500 DK - $5800 Opponent - GS Proj Pts FD - 42.25 DK - 40.74 With Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum both injured in Portland, this is DSJ's show. This guy has generally been considered a bust because of his high draft price, but he's always been productive when given the opportunity. That's evident in his recent form, averaging 36.5 DK points across 38 minutes a night in the two games without those two. Quite simply, it's 70 minutes, 40 shots, and 40 percent of the team's usage out the window, and Smith will be happy to take on as much of that as possible. He's also not going to be a victim...

Point Guard Derrick Rose FD - $5700 DK - $5100Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 29.43 DK - 31.45 On a very short, three-game slate, we are going to have to make some tougher decisions with our lineups. And some of that could include playing guys coming off the bench. It seems like the plan, in closer games, is for Rose to run closer to 30 minutes even in the sixth-man role. If that’s the case then I think we are still getting away with something at these prices, especially on DraftKings. On a full slate? I don’t think we’d be going here. But the picking might be a bit thin here with the player pool and especially with the value plays if most of the superstars are taking the court. Dennis Schroder FD - $5200 DK - $6400Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 29.02 DK - 32 Even with Jaylen Brown expected back for this game, I think we can still consider Schroder here for a couple of reasons. Even if he were to come off the bench, I think Schroder will see enough minutes and usage in that role to justify the price, at least on FanDuel. And I think there is reason to expect that even if Brown were to come back, it wouldn’t be for a full minutes workload. The Celtics have been careful with this before and it stands to reason they will again considering the injury. Schroder is still good for more than double-digit shots per game even when the Celtics are fully healthy and for even more, if they are even a little banged up. Shooting Guard Alec Burks FD - $6500 DK - $6700Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 33.42 DK - 35.49 The Knicks got blown out last game against Denver with the 14-point loss actually looking much closer than the actual score. Burks had his minutes buzzed off, but it sure seems like the plan is to play him a lot of minutes now that he’s joined the starting lineup. Now, the Knicks have lost three out of four since making this move so no idea if it sticks. But if he’s out...

Point Guard Kyle Lowry FD - $6700 DK - $7500 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 38.09 DK - 41.7 The fantasy performances have been inconsistent recently but a lot of that can be contributed to blowouts which have limited his minutes in three of his last five games. The good news with that is the price has come back down in the mid $7K range on DraftKings and remained under $7K on FanDuel. More good news as Lowry has been consistent averaging over 36 fantasy points per game when getting a full run of minutes and without Bam and possibly Butler again, I see that narrative playing out once again which puts him n play in all formats. Ish Smith FD - $4500 DK - $3400 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 24.78 DK - 26.57 With LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier placed in health and safety protocols on the weekend, Ish Smith stepped into a starting role and lit it up Sunday shooting 57% on 14 shots putting up North of 35 fantasy points on both sites. Both those players are out again on Monday and mysteriously Ish's price dropped $500 on DraftKings putting him back near min price where he is easily our top PTS/$ play at any position. Don't over think this one. Plug in Ish in all formats. Also Consider: Tyler Herro(MIA) if Jimmy Butler is out again or Chris Paul(PHO) with Devin Booker out again tonight Shooting Guard Seth Curry FD - $5600 DK - $5300 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 26.69 DK - 29.35 Curry is very reliant on his shooting for fantasy scoring and the good/great news there is that he is on an absolute heater shooting 60% on 40 shots over his last three games. While that is an unsustainable rate for sure, the opportunity continues to be there with no Ben Simmons. Either way, we are looking for about 25 fantasy points from Curry to hit cash value tonight and he has done that in seven of his last 10 games while averaging 26.5 fantasy points per game. The matchup also helps as the Hornets 28th in defensive efficiency...
DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday, 12/5/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 12/5/21 Sunday slates can be ugly, and this is undoubtedly one of those. We have just four games in total and three making up the DFS card. What makes it even more bizarre is that one of these clubs is amid a COVID breakout. That will cause chaos on this slate, but at least we have the information beforehand for once! We also have some of the worst defenses in the NBA on display, and it should lead to some high-scoring games. With that in mind, let's get into it! Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Trae Young FD - $9600 DK - $10300 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 47.84 DK - 51.67 With so many cheap players available, it's imperative to get a guy like Young into your lineup. The Atlanta point guard has been one of the most consistent players in the NBA recently, scoring at least 45 DraftKings points in six straight games. He's also got a 50-point average in that span as well, which is not far off of his impressive 47-point average for the season. All of that makes him an easy choice against anyone but facing Charlotte is sensational. We say that because the Hornets rank third in pace and dead-last in points allowed. Just take the guaranteed 40-50 fantasy points and build the rest of your lineup from there. Ish Smith FD - $5000 DK - $4800 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 24.29 DK - 23.89 The Hornets are amid a nightmarish COVID breakout, and it's going to make this Charlotte roster challenging to figure out. The most significant players they'll be missing are Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball. That makes up their backcourt, and it should force Ish into the starting point guard job. This guy has always been productive in these fill-in spots in the past, averaging 27 DK points per game in his 24 starts since 2019. His speed and playmaking ability have led to that impressive average, and he should be asked to do a ton with the two guards out of this lineup. Facing Trae Young defensively is a nice bonus, too, with Young being one of the worst defenders in...

Point Guard Kyle Lowry FD - $6600 DK - $7800Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 36.89 DK - 40.96 Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are both out of this game for the Heat meaning we are going to get some more high usage out to the remaining guys, specifically the guards. Lowry took 18 shots on Friday in the win over the Pacers on the road and finished with 26 points and nine assists. This might be a slightly tougher matchup on paper against the Bucks though they do take a step back defensively without Giannis in the lineup. Lowry has a 21% usage rate this season with Butler and Bam off the court, which is up from the 18% rate he has over the course of the season. The DraftKings price is a bit too steep, but the FanDuel salary is way too low. Dennis Smith Jr. FD - $4400 DK - $3400Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD - 28.2 DK - 27.6 The Blazers are without Damian Lillard and now they’ve lost Anfernee Simons to injury as well. The backcourt is a bit of a mess at the point guard position and it looks like Dennis Smith will get the start here on Saturday. He hasn’t played a ton this season, but when he has the per minutes fantasy scoring is solid, something that’s been the case for him throughout his career. Per 30 minutes this season Smith is averaging nine points, seven assists, and more than three rebounds which is more than enough production considering his current price points. And because Portland is so shorthanded right now there could be a lot of minutes for him in this matchup against the Celtics. Shooting Guard C.J. McCollum FD - $8200 DK - $9000Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD - 43.45 DK - 47.04 McCollum is the clear beneficiary of not having Lillard, and now Simons on the court. Without Lillard specifically, CJ has a 31% usage rate on the season, easily the highest number on the season. McCollum is already averaging almost 19 shots per game on the season and two games ago took 26 when the game stayed close against the Pistons....
