Most teams are just treading water until the playoffs or their season is well over. But the 76ers still have a chance to make it to the three seed in the East if they want and that should be enough motivation to play the starters at least moderate minutes. Sure, they are likely to completely demolish the Pacers who have been trying to lose with a fury over the last month, but Harden’s floor should be high enough in this one to justify the expense. And seeing as how there will be plenty of cheap plays in other places we are likely to just pay up for him and Embiid and call it a day in that tier. Jordan Poole FD - $7900 DK - $8000Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 39.86 DK - 41.99 It’s hard to know how much the Warriors value the three seed in the West though one has to assume they still see this as a very winnable game considering the Spurs have chosen to sit basically their entire starting five. Even in limited minutes Poole could be in for major usage considering Stephen Curry is already out and Klay Thompson is going to sit as well. This scenario played out two games ago against the Kings and Poole ran 34 minutes, putting up 15 shots and dropping 22 points, five rebounds, and four assists. He and Wiggins should lead the way in usage with the only question becoming if they play enough minutes to hit value. Tre Jones FD - $6500 DK - $5400Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 30.49 DK - 30.46 The Spurs are sitting basically everyone out for this game including Dejounte Murray, Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Jakob Poeltl. With a lot of uncertainty going into this slate of games because of different teams’ motivations, I do think there is at least some moderate safety in this play. Dallas is huge favorites over a lowly, and tanking, Portland team but Luka at least has a solid floor if the Mavs are motivated to put a stamp on this one early. Luka has scored 30+ points in five of his last six games with double-digit assists in each of his last four. LaMelo Ball FD - $8800 DK - $9100Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 49.9 DK - 54.36 Though they are probably going to be the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, that isn’t a certainty yet and the Hornets have the motivation to keep really trying at least through Friday’s games. Though the game on Thursday against the Magic turned into a blowout, we saw the willingness to play LaMelo a lot of minutes and that should be the case again here against Chicago. In closer matchups, Ball should push 36-37 minutes which with his fantasy profile is more than enough to justify these prices. In fact, they look like total bargains all things considered. Over the last six games, he’s averaging 22 points, 11 assists, five rebounds and 2.5 blocks. The FanDuel price is basically a lock on this slate. Zavier Simpson FD - $4700 DK - $3900Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 37.26 DK - 39.54 Hilariously, this slate is probably going to come down to moderately stacking this entire game, which is featuring a laundry list of scrubs. But so goes the end of the NBA season when tankers gonna tank and some squads want to see what they have with young guys. Pat Bev has missed two straight games and is questionable again tonight and that has me all over Russell who has been terrific in the short-term putting up 12 or more shots and dropping 35 or more DK points in three straight games. Both teams also rank Top 5 in pace so I expect a ton of points. Fire up Russell in all formats as a top guard on this slate. Will Barton FD - $5400 DK - $5800 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 30.93 DK - 33.93 Doug said it best in chat last night in that we could set Barton's minutes to just one and the system would still love him from a PTS/$ perspective. All kidding aside, the Nuggets are the only other team really playing for anything these last couple of days and it's hard to argue with a player who is getting around 35 minutes and double-digit shot attempts per game while sitting under $6K on both sites. More good news as he has been consistent down the stretch shooting around 47% and putting up over 30 DK points per game over his last seven games. I will have exposure in all formats. Tre Jones FD - $5800 DK - $5300 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 31.41 DK - 33.16 The Spurs have clinched a play-in berth and can really only move up to the #9 seed so they aren't really pushing DeJounte Murray back from injury as he will miss his fourth straight game on Thursday. There were players starting in that game that I've never heard of, and I literally cover this sport as my job! That's going to be an issue from here on out because we have tons of teams tanking. This slate could be particularly frustrating, with seven teams in the second half of a back-to-back. That's over half of the teams on this slate, and it's undoubtedly going to lead to some unpredictable chaos. Saying a guy is guaranteed for 60 fantasy points might sound outlandish, but this guy has a 62-point average over his last 24 games played. It's easy to understand why, flirting with a 40 percent usage rate since Kristaps Porzingis was traded away. He's also shown a 70-point upside on numerous occasions in that span, and we genuinely believe he can reach that here. We say that because he faces a Detroit defense that ranks 19th in points allowed and 23rd in defensive efficiency. In their one matchup earlier this season, Luka had 66 DK points if you needed any more incentive to use him. Ish Smith FD - $4400 DK - $4800 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 17.27 DK - 17.02 Ish has always been productive when given the opportunity, and it looks like he's the go-to point guard in Washington right now. It started when Bradley Beal got injured, but the Spencer Dinwiddie trade really opened things up. That's led to Smith playing at least 28 minutes in three straight games, scoring at least 22 DraftKings points in five consecutive outings. Those three most recent games have been tremendous, with Smith averaging 36 fantasy points per game in that span. Good luck finding that from another sub-$5K player, especially one that faces the 27th-ranked defense. Trae Young is an excellent play against a 24th-ranked Wizards defense. Shooting Guard DeMar...

So, yeah, this is a must-win. Luckily it’s against the Rockets and Brooklyn is currently -17.5 home favorites. It should be an easy win, but nothing about this season has been easy. Kyrie should still be in line for a lot of minutes and major usage even though he’s not been as efficient of late. But he’s taken 22 or more shots in three of the last four games, putting up 24+ in the last three. He’s an excellent play on both sites, and we can probably just pair him with Durant in cash games. Tre Jones FD - $3700 DK - $4000Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 32.21 DK - 33.86 Dejounte Murray is still out sick so Tre Jones is going to get the start again for the Spurs who are definitely trying to make the play-in game over the Lakers at this point. Jones has played 33 and 34 minutes respectively over the last two, averaging 13 points, six rebounds, and eight assists in that stretch. The DraftKings and FanDuel prices are both no-brainers on this slate even with the tougher matchup against the Nuggets. He’s just coming too cheap considering the opportunity and so much fantasy production opens up for the Spurs with Murray off of the court. Caris LeVert FD - $5400 DK - $7000Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 34.41 DK - 36.84 The Cavs are still trying to find their way out of the play-in game though that’s looking like an uphill battle at this point. It’s likely that they finish in the 8th or 9th seed and they’ve now lost six of their last eight games with all of the injuries really catchup up here.
