For the series, Doncic is averaging 32 points, 10 assists, and 7.5 rebounds in about 37 minutes per game. The funny thing is that the overall minute total is low because so many of these games have been blowouts one way or the other. The reality (if things stay close) is that he’s playing 42+ minutes in this one and should be able to beat those averages. Jrue Holiday FD - $9000 DK - $8200Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD - 48.64 DK - 49.28 We could see Jrue play nearly the whole game here for the Bucks and considering how important he is for their chances to win, they will be hard-pressed to take him off the court at all. Holiday struggled in Game 6, going only 7-17 from the field while failing to get much going in terms of rebounds or assists either. But for the series, he’s still putting up a 21/6/6 line even with that relative stinker. The DraftKings price is still a place to go especially if you don’t think you can fit the two superstars in Luka and Giannis. Derrick White FD - $5000 DK - $4600Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 27.26 DK - 27.36 White offers one of the few ways to save on this slate even though he’s not strictly a punt play option. But sitting in the lower middle tier is a way to start saving some dollars and he’s been playing real minutes off the bench for the Celtics. White has played 30 or more minutes in each of the last three games, putting up 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists in that stretch. Though the FanDuel price has come up to meet this, the DK salary is too low. Tyus Jones FD - $7200 DK - $5700Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 36 DK - 36.38 The Grizzlies are a pretty crazy team. It shouldn’t make any sense for them to go into Game 5 of this series without Ja Morant and summarily go out and take down the Warriors by 39 (39!!!) points, winning 134-95 and sending this series back to Golden State. That kind of thing simply doesn’t happen within the context of a regular basketball playoff series. But here we are. Tyus Jones has seen the price increase on FanDuel for sure, but the DraftKings salary is still very much in the sweet spot here. And it’s clear that Memphis intends to play him a lot of minutes if the game is even remotely close. Dillon Brooks FD - $5800 DK - $6000Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 37.67 DK - 38.13 The price is still kind of. a joke if this game is close and the Grizzlies need everything they can get in order to hang with the Warriors on the road. Sure, Brooks had a disaster of a time out in Game 4, but he turned it around to some degree in Game 5 and scored 25 FanDuel points in just 24 minutes. With Ja off the court, his usage goes way up and the price isn’t anything close to matching the opportunity on a full minutes load. I think this is a pretty easy play. There should easily be enough value to load up on Luka in all formats. Max Strus FD - $4600 DK - $5100 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 22.51 DK - 25.87 The mystery in Miami right now is the number of Heat players that continue to be listed on the injury report despite being healthy. Max Strus is one of them and of all the guards who have stepped in with Lowry out, he has seen the most time on the floor playing at least 27 minutes in all five games. Hitting value has been hard to come by but the good news is that he is coming off his best game in the playoffs and is better than his 39.5% shooting % this series(career 45% shooter). Small Forward Jimmy Butler FD - $10500 DK - $9800 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 49.02 DK - 51.15 The price has finally started to go up on Butler who is having a very solid playoff run for the Heat averaging 27 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists over nine games. That has translated to a very high floor for fantasy as he has topped 45 DK points in seven of those nine games and also flashed big upside topping 60 three times. Butler will look to lead the Heat to a series victory on the road tonight and he is easily one of our top plays in all formats. Marcus Smart FD - $6300 DK - $5900Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 34.99 DK - 35.11 He ramped up the minutes to more than 40 last game and that should be the case moving forward for the rest of the series. He *only* took 13 shots in that run but finished with 18 points and eight assists. He only had two defensive stats, but for a player like Smart, that’s at the low end of the expectation if this is how long he’s going to be on the court. I really like the DraftKings price in the middle tier and think he helps ease some salary concerns while also providing safety with the minutes. Strongly consider Klay Thompson (FD 6200 DK 7400) Small Forward Giannis Antetokounmpo FD - $11500 DK - $11600Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD - 68.99 DK - 70.8 If Giannis is going to play 40+ minutes a game then we aren’t at a breaking point with his price yet. Sure, the Celtics' defense is a tough out, but we are talking about a guy who can literally do it all from a fantasy standpoint. And now he’s playing max minutes. That’s just too good to pass up and the Memphis guys allow for the savings. For the series, he’s averaging 32 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, and more than two blocks+steals. Brunson has averaged 23 points, four assists, and four rebounds in that stretch and it’s been critical for keeping the Suns on their toes. I suspect the usage sticks in this range going forward. And of course, there’s Luka who we already know is among the best ever to do it on the fantasy end. He’s averaging a sick 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for this series and has been every bit the superstar. There aren’t many more cases to be made for this guy that hasn’t already happened. It’s pretty easy to play this guy and just sacrifice salary on the other end of the spectrum. It’s the nature of these playoff slates. Max Strus FD - $4100 DK - $5000Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 24.49 DK - 26.83M Look, with these playoff slates we need to just try to roster minutes on the cheaper side and not worry all that much about the results. The latter part is because the whole point is getting the superstars. That’s the whole point. Strus and his 30+ minutes for the Heat are the reason for that and we are basically just needing him to knock down the three-point looks that he’s going to get in this offense. The FanDuel price is a pretty easy play at this point all things considered.
