Guards Luka Doncic FD - $10800 DK - $10700 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 55.06 DK - 57.17 The two most expensive guards on the slate face off against one another tonight and both provide an elite floor/ceiling combination. With Memphis playing on a back-to-back, I slightly lean Luka here coming off 50+ fantasy performance in game one and h wasn't even that efficient shooting 10 for 23 but made up for it going 13 for 13 from the free throw line while adding nine rebounds and six assists. He now faces a Grizzlies team that I mentioned is playing on a back-to-back and has given up over 110 points in both of their games. As long as the price remains under $11K, Luka is going to be a core play for me in all formats. Tyler Herro FD - $6200 DK - $6300 Opponent - TOR Proj Pts FD - 33.12 DK - 35.44 This will be the third time writing up Tyler Herro this season for the DFSR crew and it continues to baffle us why the price hasn't gone up yet. He was excellent on opening night giving USA 6x return on both sites and was even better last night putting up a near 7x return. He led the Heat with 21 shots putting gup 25 points and adding six rebounds and three assists while playing 36 minutes. The matchup doesn't jump off the page as the Raptors are an above-average defense but considering they are playing a back-to-back on the road and Herro's is just coming way too cheap, I am on board in all formats. Donovan Mitchell FD - $8500 DK - $9200 Opponent - CHI Proj Pts FD - 41.98 DK - 43.79 While the Cavs ended up losing their first game, management had to be thrilled about their huge off-season deal for Donovan Mitchell. He led the team with 21 shots and a 36% usage rate while posting a monster 50-point fantasy game. The price has gone up on DraftKings but if he continues to play at this level there is a good chance he will be a consistent 10K player on both sites this season. Tonight, he faces a Bulls team that is playing on a back-to-back while the Cavs have had a day to rest. Mitchell is a core play...

Ja Morant and Trae Young highlight the DraftKings and FanDuel NBA Picks – Friday, October 21st

Point Guard Ja Morant FD - $9400 DK - $10100Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 51.14 DK - 54.5 Morant came out of the gate firing, putting up 24 shots in the Grizzlies’ overtime win against the Knicks on Wednesday. He finished with 34 points, and nine assists in his 38 minutes (33 in regulation). He’ll have a chance for another big game on Friday against the Rockets who allowed 117 to the Hawks in the first game and will make for one of the better DFS matchups this whole season. Morant is a bit expensive on DraftKings, but there are ways to save and FanDuel is definitely in play. Trae Young FD - $8700 DK - $9700Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 48.25 DK - 53.38 Concerns around Trae’s ability to still put up upper-level fantasy production after the addition of Dejounte Murray were quelled a bit on Wednesday when he took 22 shots and finished with 23 points and 13 assists. And he wasn’t efficient at all, going 1-9 from three. All we care about is whether the volume was there, and it was. He’s still very much a bargain on FanDuel at $8700 and draws another good matchup against the Magic. Dejounte Murray (FD 9500 DK 9600) was a popular play and delivered on Wednesday. He’s a bit expensive on both sites, but is definitely in the mix here. Shooting Guard Ayo Dosunmu FD - $5000 DK - $5500Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 29.55 DK - 31.91 With Zach Lavine still on the shelf for Friday, Ayo Dosunmu is going to get another start (which he might be in line for anyway) and also see a big bump in overall opportunity and production. He sees about a 7% uptick in usage and 4% in assists with Lavine off the court. And the minutes should be there as well. On Wednesday, his 14 shots were the second-most on the team after Derozan and he finished with 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists. The price on both sites is still too low. Tyler Herro FD - $6200 DK - $6300Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD...

Guards Tyrese Maxey FD - $6600 DK - $5200 Opponent - MIL Proj Pts FD - 30.55 DK - 31.07 Like opening night, we have another small two-game slate so we are going to need some value and for me, that comes at the guard position with much more intriguing payups at the forward/center positions. Let's start with Tyrese Maxey who Doug mentioned on Tuesday was underpriced for his potential role and that continues here as the price only came up slightly on both sites. He played 38 minutes on opening night and took the second-most shots(16) on the team finishing with 30 fantasy points which at these prices is a terrific return, especially on DraftKings at nearly 6x. He is very shooting dependant but I feel we need to continue to buy low early in the season. He is in play on both sites but his best value comes on DraftKings in the low $5K range. Russell Westbrook FD - $7200 DK - $7000 Opponent - LAC Proj Pts FD - 30.37 DK - 31.51 It wasn't clear whether Westbrook would start for the Lakers on opening night but that ended up being the case as he played 31 minutes and finished third in shots behind the two usage monsters AD and Bron. There is always risk he just turns the ball over a ton but there is also no denying the high floor/high ceiling with his contributions in multiple categories. He showed this on opening night with his first double-double of the season and the best part is that this is a guy that we got used to paying 8-9K for in the past. At these prices, it makes sense to load up in all formats if he is back in the starting lineup. Grayson Allen FD - $3800 DK - $4600 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 20.38 DK - 21.33 Let's close out the guard section by going way down the board with a player that really help us to a stars and scrubs type build. Allen is going to cede a lot of the shots to Giannis and Holiday in the offense but was solid in his three preseason starts shooting 48% on nine shots a game and it also helps he is going to provide us with around 4-6 rebounds, as well. That is...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/17/22 Western Conference Finals

Western Conference Mavericks (5.5) vs. Warriors (-5.5) The Warriors enter the series as -5.5 favorites in Game 1 and -230 to take the series. It’s going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. Golden State played a weird series against a mostly Ja Morant-less Memphis squad and it still went to six games. Heck, they got blown out by 39 points in Game 5 before clinching it at home last Friday. They, of course, have championship upside with their current personnel, but it’s not anything like a lock as we saw in some other peak-Steph years. And then there is Dallas who is coming off one of the most improbable series and Game 7’s we’ve ever seen. They walked into Phoenix for a closeout game and promptly embarrassed the Western Conference’s one-seed. They are a superstar and role players team all the way down and do have some ways to make things tough on the Warriors. These two teams are very different and it’s going to be very interesting to see how it all plays out. Luka Doncic FD - $11500 DK - $11400Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 57.7 DK - 63.92 It will be fascinating to see how the Warriors try to defend Luka. They don’t have anything close to the kind of defenders that the Suns had, at least on the wing and there’s a chance that Doncic could really feast here. He might see really just about every defensive look here and the Warriors will likely have to try and double, though that risks leaving shooters open. Such is the issues with Donci who is coming off a series averaging 33 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists while only playing 36 minutes a game because of how each individual game shook out. Klay Thompson FD - $6800 DK - $7200Opponent - DALProj Pts FD - 35.02 DK - 38.85 The Warriors are going to need a ton out of Klay in this series because not only is he going to need to knock down shots, but he will also get cracks at Luka on defense. We saw the minutes ramp up to over 40...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/17/22 Eastern Conference Finals

Eastern Conference Celtics (2) vs. Heat (-2) This series could very much be a rock fight throughout with both teams bringing in some of the best defensive schemes and personnel in the business. There’s a reason this game’s 204 total is a full 10 points lower than the Dallas Mavericks - Golden State Warriors first game. Regardless, Boston is -175 to win the series though they don’t have home-court advantage here. Also, Miami has an extra few days of rest, not having played since they closed things out last Thursday against the 76ers. Meanwhile, Boston had to bang it out all the way through seven games which only just wrapped up on Sunday. I like Boston in this series, but not by a ton and not by as much as the odds would suggest either. Let’s take a look at some key plays from these two teams. Jimmy Butler FD - $10500 DK - $9600Opponent - BOSProj Pts FD - 53.7 DK - 55.48 With Kyle Lowry still out, the offense will have to continue running primarily through Butler for this series and he’s going to have an uphill battle. This matchup isn’t like the first two rounds against the Hawks and 76ers with the Celtics able to throw a lot more size and defensive capability his way. But he’s also going to have to play almost all of these games simply because of how much Miami needs him. Even though those matchups were easier, Butler still averaged 28 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists last round against the 76ers and is coming off a 29-shot closeout game in which he put up 32 points. I really like the DraftKings’ price. Jayson Tatum FD - $10200 DK - $10000Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 53.61 DK - 58.17 Meanwhile, Tatum had a significantly more difficult matchup against the Bucks last series and still found a way to put up 28 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists while throwing in some defensive stats as well. It’s tough to pick between Tatum and Butler in this tier and remember Tatum will see a lot of PJ Tucker in this series, making his life...
