FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Wednesday, 1/13/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 1/14/21 COVID has wreaked havoc on the NBA schedule so far and today is no different. We have two games that have been postponed already, with the Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz and Orlando Magic all having their games postponed. That turns a 10-game slate into an eight-game ledger, which actually makes things easier on us with so much news out there. With that in mind, let's get into it! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $11300 DK - $10800 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 55.79 DK - 58.99 Raw points are going to be critical on a slate with so much value and there may be no better bet for that than Doncic. We say that because he's been one of the league leaders in fantasy points scored since last season and has absolutely been crushing for over a week now. Over his last four games played, Doncic has scored at least 56.5 DraftKings points in all of them en route to a 67.5-point average. I don't need to tell you how absurd that is and it's scary to think how much usage he'll get here with Jalen Brunson, Josh Richardson and Maxi Kleber all sitting too. Just pay up for Doncic and build from there. Elfrid Payton FD - $5700 DK - $6600 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 34.96 DK - 35.75 Tom Thibideau is notorious for giving his starters more minutes than they can handle and that's obviously huge news for his starting point guard. That happens to be Payton, with the former Louisana alum averaging 30.6 DK points per game across 32 minutes of action over his last nine outings. That makes this FanDuel price really hard to understand, especially when you see that he has at least 24 fantasy points in each of those nine fixtures. It's not like the matchup is bad either, facing a Brooklyn team that will likely be without Kevin Durant, Spencer Dinwiddie and Kyrie Irving. Seeing Trae Young below $9K on both sites is weird after he dropped 45 DK points in just 25 minutes on Monday. Shooting Guard Eric Bledsoe FD - $5300 DK - $5800...

Point Guard Malcolm Brogdon FD - $8400 DK - $8300 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 46.65 DK - 47.87 Brogdon is playing unreal minutes this early in the season, averaging more than 40 minutes and 50 FanDuel points per game over his last four contests. Today he'll get his best match-up of the season, taking on a Sacramento team that's playing a top 10 PACE with the league's worst defensive efficiency. Throw in a hobbled De'Aaron Fox (who is battling a hamstring issue) and Brogdon should theoretically have his way here. Elfrid Payton FD - $5500 DK - $6400 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 35.36 DK - 36.19 When the Knicks can avoid getting blown out, Payton has been good for 33+ minutes and almost a fantasy point per minute. That's a straight-up price and opportunity mismatch, and Payton living up to his potential on any given night mostly comes down to whether the Knicks can hang. Given that the Knicks are just 4.5 point dogs here, I think we can expect an excellent game from Payton at a very reasonable price. Also considered: Fred Vanvleet. Shooting Guard Tyrese Maxey FD - $5200 DK - $4700 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 39.33 DK - 40.23 With Simmons and Milton (and Harris, Ferguson, and Poirer) all ruled out already, the Sixers are going to be wildly short-handed once again. You know who hasn't minded? One Tyrese Maxey, who threw up the most improbable 60 fantasy point performance I can remember against the Nuggets last game. He's got legitimate game, and he'll get a terrific match-up with the Hawks' offensive-minded squad tonight. Maxey is a cash game staple if he's starting again. Bradley Beal FD - $10100 DK - $9900 Opponent - PHO Proj Pts FD - 57.33 DK - 58.81 Speaking of cash game staples, it feels hard to go too wrong with Bradley Beal given how shorthanded the Wizards are in their own right. Westbrook and Bryant are ruled out, leaving a lot of usage on the table, and Beal was already paying these prices. Phoenix isn't the match-up they used to be since CP3...

Point Guard Marcus Smart FD - $5900 DK - $7200Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 28.58 DK - 28.26 With Jayson Tatum already out and a bunch of other Celtics players staring down the idea of sitting under Covid protocols, this is going to probably be a good spot for Smart. He’s been solid, if unspectacular from a fantasy perspective this season averaging 12 points and six assists per game with some defensive stats thrown in there to round things out. He’ll never be a high usage guy in any iteration of the Celtics’ offense, but he does have a high floor if the Boston big buys are out in this game. Elfrid Payton FD - $5500 DK - $6500Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 35.33 DK - 36.52 Payton is coming off a disappointing game last time out against the Thunder on Friday, finishing with just 16 points and six rebounds. It was a rough performance from a guy who’s been setting a pretty high floor of late. This could be a chance to bounce back against a Denver team ranking 28th in defensive efficiency this season. They play at a slower pace which mitigates some of the fantasy gains from their matador D, but this is still a fine spot for Payton. I much prefer the FanDuel price sitting in the mid-$5K range. Shooting Guard Jaylen Brown FD - $8300 DK - $9100Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 45.97 DK - 46.64 This is obviously assuming he plays on Sunday. Jayson Tatum has already been ruled out for this game leaving a ton of usage to go around. If Brown plays, he’s likely the total chalk based on the implied usage and just how awesome he’s been anyway. He’s averaging 26 points and six rebounds on 35 minutes per game while shooting 42% from three. If Tatum were to miss then the crazy usage would only rise here in this matchup. Jordan Clarkson FD - $5300 DK - $5600Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 28.25 DK - 29.05 Joe Ingles sat out on Friday night and that opened up a lot of 6th man/ bench units for Clarkson. Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $11600 DK - $11000Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 57.39 DK - 61.33 Trey Burke FD - $4100 DK - $3000Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 23.52 DK - 24.1 The Mavericks are going to be without some dudes on Saturday, losing Doran-Finney Smith, Jalen Brunson and Josh Richardson to health protocols. That leaves them pretty thin and likely makes Luka an extra safe play on this slate. He’s having another unbelievable statistical season averaging 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists on the season. His two areas of struggle which could point to these numbers actually going higher are the 20% three-point shooting and the seven turnovers per game. Both of those are likely headed for a little bit of positive regression. Meanwhile, Trey Burke should draw the start or at minimum see 20+ minutes off the bench in a reserve role with home much the Mavs have lost in the backcourt. His per 30-minute stats this season are around 12 points three assists and three rebounds. Not all that impressive but he likely sees a second unit usage bump. At the minimum on DraftKings, he’s a cash game play with the current state of the Mavs. Dejounte Murray FD - $7100 DK - $6900Opponent - MINProj Pts FD - 35.78 DK - 36.24 Murray is finally getting steady, starters minutes after being shuffled all around with run last season. He’s getting about 32 minutes per game and the usage is up, getting close to 15 shots per game. He’s consistently getting on the boards with seven rebounds while also adding in five assists. Where he’s struggling is beyond the arc, shooting under 30% after going 37% from three last season. I think this is still a buy spot on Murray in a great matchup against a terrible Minnesota defense. Shooting Guard Bradley Beal FD - $10100 DK - $9700Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 54.16 DK - 55.29 Russell Westbrook hasn’t played a back-to-back yet this season and it doesn’t look like he will on Saturday either. That being said, I suppose there’s some chance for it if the Wizards are getting a...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Friday, 1/8/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Friday, 1/8/21 Thursday's slate was another crazy one, with Kyrie Irving sitting out and Collin Sexton getting scratched at the last minute. Those sorts of things have become way too common in today's NBA and keeping your eye on the news is just as important as setting a good lineup. The good news is that we have a much deeper player pool here, with 10 games on the slate. So, let's break it down! Head on over a for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer and NHL Projections as well. Plus our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with NBA or NFL? Be sure to read our free NBA and NFL Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Elfrid Payton FD - $5500 DK - $6500 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 33.09 DK - 33.98 Payton has been an underrated fantasy asset throughout his career and it's a wonder why he's just $5,500 on FanDuel still. Anybody who starts for Tom Thibideau needs to be taken into consideration because of his distribution of minutes (or lack thereof) and that certainly means his starting point guard is in play. Since struggling in the first two games of the season, Payton is averaging 33 DraftKings points per game across 32.2 minutes of action. More importantly, he's averaging 15.5 shots and 6.0 assists, showing just how much he's handling the ball. We certainly don't mind the matchup against a lackluster Oklahoma City roster either. Cole Anthony FD - $5000 DK - $5000 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 30.31 DK - 31.04 With Markelle Fultz (ACL) missing the remainder of the season, Anthony should be forced into big minutes and a starting role. That alone makes him a good value, particularly when you take into consideration that he averages 20.2 DK points per game in 21 minutes per outing. That means we could be looking at a 30-point average if he plays the 30 minutes we anticipate and that'd be a huge mark from a $5K player. The thing that really adds to his value here is the matchup though, with Houston ranked 23rd in defensive efficiency. LaMelo Ball has been great in his rookie season and it's just a matter of time before he takes DeVonte Graham's job. Shooting Guard Bradley Beal FD - $10100 DK - $9700 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 55.31 DK - 56.9 If Russell Westbrook (finger) misses...
