What We Know Kawhi Leonard is out, Kyle Anderson will start Anderson hasn't been a particularly inspiring play with Leonard on the bench in the past, but losing a guy with a 26% usage means there are a lot of shots to go around. Aldridge gets a small boost from Leonard being off the court, but the biggest beneficiary seems to be Tony Parker, whose usage climbs from %23 to %28 with Leonard on the bench. Throw in a scheduled day off for Danny Green and Patty Mills, and this could be a very interesting night to grab Parker on the very cheap. Jon Leuer should continue his reign of terror with Chandler sidelined Tyson Chandler has already been ruled out, and Leuer played 41 minutes at nearly a fantasy point per minute in the Suns' game against the Lakers. Now not all fantasy match-ups are created equally, but the Kings have been plenty bad against opposing fours all season, and Leuer is a must own for double-ups tonight once again. Marvin Williams is back This sends Frank Kaminsky back to no man's land, and will temper of our projection system's love for Cody Zeller as well. I wouldn't play Williams, personally, as I just hate taking guys a game back from missing a contest for injury related reasons. The Mavs are sitting Dirk, Deron, and Devin Harris Huge news, obviously, for a number of reasons. First of all, guys like David Lee, JJ Barea, and Ray Felton will get more minutes. That's great and all, but this also throws the blowout risk through the damned roof, meaning this game becomes more unpredictable than anything. This throws the lineup optimizer through a roof, because it had liked guys on both sides of this game. Updates to come. What We're Waiting to Know What's up with Zach Randolph? Z-Bo has been very solid since returning from his knee injury, but now he's got ankle woes....

What We Know DeMarcus Cousins's knee bruise WILL keep him out of action? Updating our previous report! Cousins bruised his knee in the 4th quarter against Chicago, and will miss this one. Rudy Gay has been the biggest usage beneficiary in the past - his usage jumping from 22% with Cousins playing to 27% without. It also would free up more minutes for Koufos and Cauley-Stein, who played 24 and 21 minutes respectively the last time Cousins missed a game. Rudy Gay is now something like a must for me, and Koufos becomes an interesting big tournament play. Darren Collison also got a big minutes bump in Boogie's last miss. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is out When he missed a stretch of games in early February, Stanley Johnson played some very effective mid-high 30 minute games. The Pistons have added a few guys since then, so it's not clear that he'll dive right in for that role here, but if he's named the starter he's a very attractive play for tonight's slates in a nice match-up with the Magic. Update: Johnson isn't getting the start. Darrun Hilliard is. I'm still bullish on Johnson's minutes, but not as much as before. Larry Nance Jr. is back Seem like an anti-climactic way to start the article? It really isn't. The Lakers having Nance active has led to a 4-6 minute reduction for Julius Randle all season long, and while it's a nice match-up with the Suns, Randle logged just 26 uneventful minutes against them with Nance in the rotation just a week ago. I'll be keeping Randle out of my cash game lineups as a result. Kevin Love is back I'm not sure you want to trust him given his relatively erratic performance and the recent illness, so the big news here is the usage he'll take away from LeBron and Kyrie. Probably doesn't make a difference for you if you're paying attention, but don't count on LeBron to put...

What We Know Brook Lopez is back Just a one game absence, and this kills Willie Reed and Thomas Robinson's value. I do like him quite a bit against the Hornets tonight, but am not sure that price point will fit into optimal lineups given the limited options of a short slate. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson returns from injury!! Right, it's a short slate. But really! This is news! Hollis-Jefferson will cut directly into Wayne Ellington's minutes, and could take some minutes from Bojan Bogdanovic as well. I don't expect him to play huge minutes tonight fresh off of returning from a fractured foot, but I'll be watching his minutes closely to see how it knocks other dominoes in the Nets' rotation. I still like Bojan today, but am cautious on other Nets. Larry Nance Jr. is out The last time he sat, Julius Randle played 31 minutes. He could play more than that tonight, and it's a reasonable match-up with Memphis' now not too tough front court. We've adjusted the projections up accordingly. UPDATE: With Marvin Williams out I think Frank Kaminsky is a near must start running with the Varsity. What We're Waiting to Know James Harden is listed as a game time decision And if he misses this one, that obviously topples some huge dominoes in the Houston/OKC game. It introduces blowout risk into the game, and it also opens up a TON of shots for everyone else. It would mean a lot for Patrick Beverley and Jason Terry in particular, who would have the ball in there hands a lot more. Watch this one closely. Marvin Williams's status Marvin Williams limped off the court in last night's game with the Spurs, and is listed as questionable for tonight's tilt with the Nets. He said that he "should be able to play" last night, but in a game that the Hornets should be able to win without him, I'll be watching this one...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/22/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/22/16 After a wild weekend and an equally crazy Monday, I'm ready to settle in to a nice little short slate. It feels like forever since I wrote up a short slate, so now seems like as good a time as any to point out that we here at DFSR believe very strongly that, often times, the biggest edges come on the shortest of slates. Choosing the wrong play becomes magnified, and it's a lot harder to luck into a winning lineup. Tonight's slate happily features some awful defenses that we should be able to exploit, so let's dig in. Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day (except Sunday) in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD Russell Westbrook - FD 10600 DK 10600 Opponent - HOU FD Proj. Pts - 54.44 DK Proj. Pts - 56.26 A lot of people believe that getting the value plays right is the key on a night to night basis, but missing on your big guys (especially on a short slate) is far more damaging. It's fairly obvious, I guess - you're investing $10k on a guy instead of $4k - but tonight's slate really highlights it. Westbrook has a phenomenal projection against the Rockets tonight for a handful of reasons. The obvious, of course - he's been a triple-double machine, and has shown 15 rebound and 19 assist upside (what on Earth?), and his across-the-board production makes him one of the highest floor superstars imaginable. It's not a great match-up with Patrick Beverley, but Russ doesn't need a great match-up to do his work. While there's great value at PG today, safe lineups start with Russ. Ray McCallum - FD 3700 DK 3200 Opponent - LAL FD Proj. Pts - 21.75 DK Proj. Pts - 22.97 Toney Douglas - FD 5000 DK 5100 Opponent - MIA...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/21/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/21/16 After an oddly frantic Sunday of daily fantasy NBA action, we settle into a Monday slate that's equally as perplexing. There's no shortage of injury concerns, blowout worries, and stout defenses to navigate around. Thankfully it's a nice big slate that we'll surely be able to find some suitable plays for. The key here is going to be following our updates article throughout the day and making sure we stay on top of the news. This is a big point, actually - these picks are going to be as well reasoned as they can be given what we know the night before the contest, but daily fantasy basketball comes down to your ability to pivot late. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD A note before we begin - I'm not including the Golden State and Minnesota guys here because I'm fairly sure the game will be a blowout. It should be an up and down game, though, so if you have a hunch that the game stays closer it would be an interesting stack. We're projecting them for fewer minutes, though, so you won't see those guys in these picks. Good luck! Isaiah Thomas - FD 7700 DK 7600 Opponent - ORL FD Proj. Pts - 36.19 DK Proj. Pts - 38.69 Thomas turned in a stellar performance against the 76ers on Sunday, putting up a busy 26/6/8 in ball-dominant minutes against the 76ers. And, really, this is just who Thomas is when the game stays close. The Celtics are totally prepared to run the offense through him, and they've shown that he can even play in the high 30s minutes if the game script is right. Well, this one has the makings of a game that could head...
