The only fairly clear one to me is that Aaron Gordon and Victor Oladipo are really, really unlikely to play today. Both are dealing with concussion issues, and even Scott Skiles ought to be smart enough to preserve the actual brains of his two building block players. As for what will happen if they do both miss again, it's a bit of a mystery. The Magic got blown out by the Heat on Sunday, and minutes were all over the place. The way it looked like things were trending before things got out of hand, I'd guess Fournier, Vucevic, and Hezonja will all be solid DFS plays in their absence tonight. Do I trust it? No. No, I don't. But I wouldn't be shocked if winning tournament lineups had one of those guys in it. Derrick Rose and E'Twaun Moore are shut down, leaving plenty of room for Justin Holiday With Rose and Moore shelved for the season and Butler almost certainly in line for some kind of reprieve, Holiday is one of the last men standing in Chicago. Paying today's prices should be rather trivial to the heir apparent to all the guard minutes, but there's some risk if Aaron Brooks gets hot or plays a bigger role than we anticipate. Pau is out, and I'm confused, but I like Nikola Mirotic Full disclosure - this one might not be for the faint of heart. The Bulls are going to be short something like 90 minutes (Rose, Moore, Gasol), and we don't really have precedent for this. The nice thing is that they're playing against another D-League squad in New Orleans, so once we hear who's starting we should at least be mildly out of the woods. I like Mirotic best because of the track record, but I could definitely see Cristiano Felicio and Bobby Portis putting up big games as well. Rondo, Collison, and Belinelli are out Uh....

What We Know Elfrid Payton and Nikola Vucevic are out again Enter CJ Watson! If he plays. He's got the NBA Flu, and this might just be Brandon Jennings instead. But Jennings also has Achilles issues. Maybe Shabazz Napier? Oy, what a mess. If he does play, Watson is very interesting. He was bad against Portland, but great against the Kings. It's clear that the Magic are content to play him high 20s low 30s minutes if things are going well, but that makes me a lot more confident to deploy him in big tourneys than in 50/50s. Meanwhile, Vucevic's continued absence makes way for more shots for everyone, and increased playing time for Dedmon and Jason Smith. Smith put up one monster game in this role, and both have been fairly solid. But the combination of getting Skilesed and generally low minutes to begin with has me a little cautious with playing either in a 50/50. Hollis Thompson, Nerlens Noel get bumps with Covington and Grant out again All three have shown big fantasy upside, and Landry and Noel have shown great safety as well. Terrific match-up for all of them, and I'd be happy to play them anywhere. Lou Williams screwed up everyone's minutes in LA Well, him and Kobe playing together did. It's a real shame, because this is an awesome match-up for guards, but I'm not sure you can trust anyone to play more than 30 minutes. And their various prices, that leaves only Kobe Bryant as a consideration for me on the Lakers tonight. Brandon Bass sitting (more on that later) would free up some of the big minutes, but the guard situation is just a quagmire right now. What We're Waiting to Know Kobe Bryant - a "game time decision" The Lakers have slapped Kobe with a GTD every day it seems, but we often know well before tip-off what the real story is. As of now...

Now let’s look at some news that’s come in throughout the day to see if anything’s changed in our minds or in the NBA landscape. It's a shorter slate and a light news day, but we'll be updating as stuff rolls in. Also throw out some ideas in the comments and we can take it from there. What We Know Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Tim Duncan are taking a game off The big fantasy here, of course, is not that these guys aren't playing - it's who will get their minutes. Patty Mills is probably the biggest winner of the group - he's been playing low 20s minutes as is, and while Pop has kept him a part of the 2nd unit in games where Parker has sat in the past, Mills has still seen both a usage and minutes increase. I also suspect we'll see 30+ minutes of Danny Green, and high 20s minutes for David West, both of whom have been solid daily fantasy basketball options when their respective starters have sat in the recent past. Kristaps Porzingis will play But there's almost no chance he sees his full run. Unfortunately, Porzingis' minutes have been spread rather evenly among fantasy irrelevant options like Kyle O'Quinn and Lance Thomas, leaving guys with a chance to be relevant like Derrick Williams still under-funded in the opportunity department. Bradley Beal is out He's not even with the team at the moment, so we can try and figure out who is going to get his minutes. The team hasn't released anything publicly as of this writing, but I'd guess we'll see a healthy dose of the daily fantasy irrelevant Garrett Temple (whom I guess can still be called an interesting punt play on minimum prices if he starts), and likely some more Alan...

It's a shorter slate and a light news day, but we'll be updating as stuff rolls in. Also throw out some ideas in the comments and we can take it from there. What We Know Kobe Bryant is back, and Lou Williams is out But man, it'll be tough to walk away from what D'Angelo Russell has been doing recently. Still, keep in mind that Bryant plays 30 minutes a game with 30% usage when he's out there, and Russell's usage drops by almost 20% (from 28 to 24) with Bryant on the floor. Lou Williams' day off makes D'Angelo a little more interesting for sure, as that's another 20+ back-courts to redistribute. Still, Russell had been fluctuating between high 20s and low 30s minutes before Bryant's rest, and he won't be nearly as effective on fewer minutes with fewer usage. I'll be staying away from him until we see what his "new normal" is. Will Barton will be the man for a while with Gallinari sidelined Not a great game for Barton in his first Gallo-free game, but that just keeps the price affordable for a great match-up with the Lakers. Play him anywhere. What We're Waiting to Know Jahlil Okafor's status He missed Monday's game, and Jerami Grant put up another terrific game in starter's minutes. This is a huge one - if Okafor is out, Grant is a terrific play once again against a soft Charlotte front court. UPDATE: Okafor is out. Grant gets a big boost. Kenneth Faried's status Faried is being listed as questionable with another lower back strain, which is a real shame given the way he's been crushing. This...

It's a shorter slate and a light news day, but we'll be updating as stuff rolls in. Also throw out some ideas in the comments and we can take it from there. What We Know Alex Len is starting. Earl Watson has come out publicly and said the Suns are going to "try something new" with a twin-towers approach of Len and Chandler. Knowing this, Len is a must play until he's something like $6,000 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Love him tonight. Kobe is out, and we're bumping D'Angelo Russell, Anthony Brown, and Julius Randle Russell looks to be the biggest beneficiary, boasting a gaudy 27.8% usage with Bryant off the floor this season. Anthony Brown played 32 minutes in his first game back (with Kobe out), and Julius Randle sees a 10% usage bump as well with Kobe off the floor. Basically, this makes every Laker who you can project for reasonable playing time a nice play, since they'll spread around 30 minutes and 30% of the usage during those minutes. What We're Waiting to Know Stephen Curry - Will his ankle hold him out? Easily the biggest shoe to drop tonight, for obvious reasons. Redistributing 32% usage and 34 minutes is huge, and the primary Warriors benefactors will be Klay Thompson (whose usage rises to 30 with Curry off the court), and Shaun Livingston, who would likely play a starter's minutes. It has the domino effect of making the game a lot less likely to be a blowout, which is a boon to the projections of everyone involved. For now, I'm operating under the assumption that he's playing, but I'll be cautious until we...
