A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Toronto Blue Jays vs. Zack Godley (MIN) The Blue Jays will be playing at "Baby Coors" (Chase Field) and will be going up against right-hander, Zack Godley. You gotta love it! Godley has a lot of control issues (10.3 BB%) to go along with a 1.50 WHIP. He puts a lot of runners on base and going up against the Blue Jays is yelling out trouble. The Jays' are one of the top teams when it comes to facing right-handed hitters. They own a .334 wOBA (6th in MLB) 106 wRC+ (6th in MLB) and .192 ISO (4th in MLB). Yes they are expensive, but they have one of the best offenses in the league and will be going up against a guy with an ERA over five. Los Angeles Angels vs. Kyle Loshe(TEX) Let's be honest: Kyle Lohse isn't the same pitcher he once was, so I'm going to be picking on him today. Since, 2014, Loshe owns a 4.63 ERA, 4.51 FIP and 34.2% hard contact rate. He's 37 years old; and his velocity is down, so look for...

We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Jose Quintana and Carlos Martinez in the Main Article. And will be going over a few more options below. Jake Arrieta FD 10600 DK 12100 Opponent - NYM (Syndergaard) Park - @CHCFD - 36.98 DK - 24.35 Yes I know he has been terrible in his last three starts, but look for him to bounce back tonight. He's had a nice long break to clear his mind mentally for this contest. Look at what Jon Lester did. He was struggling before the break and started the second half with a [bang]. I expect Arrieta to do the same thing tonight. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt where his last three starts were on the road. Tonight there are no excuses. He will be pitching at Wrigley where he owns a 1.65 ERA, 1.81 FIP and 23.0 K-BB%. He is a completely different animal at home and look for him to take advantage of a Mets' squad that's in the bottom half of the rankings against right-handed pitchers. The matchup is there for him -- now it's time for him to prove to us why he is "one of the top pitchers in the game." Danny Salazar FD 10300 DK 11300 Opponent - KC (Young) Park - @KCFD - 33.18 DK - 22.1 If you're looking for some upside, Danny Salazar is your guy. He owns a 27.6 K% to go along with a 82.6 LOB%. He is a tournament only play for me as he can have some control issues (10.8 BB%), but you can't deny his upside. He...

Daily Fantasy Baseball News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings – 7/18/16

Daily Fantasy Baseball News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 7/18/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today. By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know Personnel Matt Cain will get the nod on Wednesday against the Red Sox . Yan Gomez suffered a shoulder injury and is likely heading to the DL. Joc Pederson (shoulder) looks like he will be able to join the club tomorrow. Mark Teixeira (left foot) is considered day-to-day after X-Rays came back negative. Rich Hill left Sunday's contest with blisters on his pitching hand and is considered day-to-day. Top Tournament Stack Orioles The Orioles will be going up against, Ivan Nova, at Yankee Stadium, so look for them to have themselves a night. They devour right-handed pitchers, as they own a .348 wOBA (2nd in MLB) to go along with a .201 ISO (1st in MLB). Sure we have a game at Coors today, but this is an excellent pivot and could be similar to a game at Coors (runs wise). Ivan Nova has a FIP over 4 and an ERA over 5, so look for this Orioles' squad to have themselves a night.   The "Every Lineup" Guy Nolan Arenado FD 4600 DK 3800 Opponent - TB (Smyly) Park - @COLFD - 15.41 DK - 11.84 We got a game at Coors and the popular play of the day from this contest will be Nolan Arenado. He will be going up against southpaw, Drew Smyly and I see him having a rough outing. Smyly is a fly ball pitcher (47.0%), which won't help him out in this ballpark. Righties own a .330 wOBA against him since 2014, so look for righties to hit him hard in this contest, especially Arenado. Matt Holliday FD 3000 DK 3200 Opponent - SD (Friedrich) Park - @STLFD - 12.08 DK - 9.2 Matt Holliday against a lefty? Sign me up! Not only does he hit lefties well (.371 wOBA and .192 ISO since 2014), but there is something else that sticks out to me. And that is his price! On a day where you...

And will be going over a few more options below. Jon Lester FD 9900 DK 6900 Opponent - NYM (Matz) Park - @CHCFD - 38.58 DK - 25.45 Jose Fernandez and Chris Sale are the "chalk" plays of the day, but don't sleep on Jon Lester. I know he's had it rough in his last two outings allowing 13 runs, but look for him to turn things around. He's had the All-Star break to regroup, so look for him to start the second half with a [bang]. He owns a 1.08 WHIP, 24.4 K% and 3.01 ERA, so don't be fooled by his last two starts. He is still one of the best pitchers in today's game will be low-owned in today's contests, which is perfect for tournaments! Do your thing, Jon Lester! Plus, the Mets own a 24.3 K% against left-handed pitchers (2nd in MLB), so don't be surprised if he scores the most fantasy points tonight. Mike Fiers FD 9000 DK 9900 Opponent - OAK (Graveman) Park - @OAKFD - 31.78 DK - 21.04 Yeah this isn't a picture of Mike Fiers, but I like the spot he's in. He will be taking his talents to the Oakland Coliseum, which is one of the friendliest parks for pitchers. Not only does he have that in his favor, but he will be also going up against the Oakland Athletics, who struggle against right-handed pitchers. They own a .299 wOBA (28th in MLB) and .142 ISO (26th in MLB). The matchup is...

You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Detroit Tigers vs.Ricky Nolasco (MIN) The Tigers will be going up against right-hander, Ricky Nolasco. He isn't a guy that gives up a ton of homers (1.27 HR/9), but does give up a ton of runs. He owns an ERA just over five to go along with a 4.34 xFIP. The other reason why I love the Tigers in the matchup is because Nolasco is a guy that pitches to contact. He owns an 18.4 K% and going up against a Tigers' ballclub that owns a .328 wOBA (9th in MLB) against right-handed pitchers won't help his cause. I know everyone will be attacking Coors, but this is definitely a nice pivot. Tampa Bay Rays vs. Tyler Anderson(COL) For some reason everyone is all over the Rockies, but I'm looking at the other direction. Let's go Rays! No I'm not a Rays' fan, but I love the spot they are in tonight. They will be leaving spacious Tropicana Field and taking their talents to Denver, Colorado. We all know the type of damage occurs when we have games at Coors, so...
