FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Tuesday, 6/1/21 The last few days of the NBA playoffs have been ugly in terms of blowouts, but this slate should be special. This is arguably the most important ledger of games we've had all year, with two of the three games featuring a 2-2 series. The winner of Game 5 in these circumstances wins the series 86 percent of the time in NBA history, so it's obviously critical for all the teams involved. That should force these starters to play huge minutes, and we should see some monster performances from the superstars in our sport! Point Guard Kyrie Irving FD - $9600 DK - $8800 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 52.71 DK - 53.93 If you don't think Irving is motivated in this series, you should check out the postgame video of him at TD Garden. The former Boston guard had tumultuous times with the Celtics, and it clearly has him more motivated than ever. He dropped 64 DraftKings points in his last game against them, which is scary when you see his 48-point average in his seven meetings with them this year. That's all you can hope for from a $9K player, and he has to show up after that stomping statement he made in Game 4. It's not like Boston is a tough matchup right now anyway, owning the second-worst defensive rating in this postseason. Monte Morris FD - $4700 DK - $4500 Opponent - POR Proj Pts FD - 22.34 DK - 22.49 Morris might be the Nuggets best all-around guard right now, stepping up with Jamal Murray and Will Barton out of the picture. That has led to MM playing at least 25 minutes in three straight games, generating a 25-point average in that span. That might not sound like much, but it's a tremendous total from a guy sitting well below $5K. The fact that Denver struggled so badly in Game 4 might mean that Morris gets more minutes here too, which is stellar news since Portland posted the second-worst defensive rating in the regular season. There are many studs that you need to fit into your lineup, and there might be no better pairing out...

Point Guard Ja Morant FD - $8200 DK - $8400 Opponent - UTA Proj Pts FD - 41.28 DK - 42.78 All of the point guards are expensive today, so we're sort of threading a needle here. Our system leads with Morant for a few reasons. First, he's arguably as important to his offense as Russell Westbrook is. He's also been surprisingly effective against Utah's stout defense, which has arguably resulted in him playing a higher number of minutes per game as well. Hell, he's averaged more fantasy points per game through three contests than Russell Westbrook has. I just don't see a world where I'm submitting my DFS lineups with Ja tonight. Ben Simmons FD - $8800 DK - $7900 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 43.46 DK - 43.15 Things get a little closer as we try to pinpoint the second point guard we want. I considered Mike Conley, who has maintained his role as the primary distributor even as Donovan Mitchell has eased back into things, but ultimately landed on Simmons. Big Ben is absolutely indispensable to Philly's defensive scheme against Washington's electric back-court, and he's a rebound away from averaging a triple-double for the series so far. He's taken some minutes off in out-of-hand games two and three, but as the Sixers look to close things out I think his role is a little more secure. Given that Vegas has this as just a 7.5 point game, it seems the oddsmakers agree with me.,p> Shooting Guard Bradley Beal FD - $9600 DK - $9100 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 50.4 DK - 51.89 While we're generally not enamored with running a guy whose team is having a hard time keeping games within twenty points, in this case we'll make an exception. If the Wiz lose this one there is nothing left to rest for, so we expect Beal to be out there for his full 40 minute rotation in game four. He hasn't gotten over the hump against the Sixers yet, but he did pay this price in the only other game where he played his full rotation. Shooting guard is pretty thin, and...

Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $11500 DK - $11100Opponent - LACProj Pts FD - 60.28 DK - 64.81 The Clippers took game three in one they had to win and the series is now 2-1 in favor of the Mavericks. From a fantasy perspective, Luka is basically everything you want from your top-tier play considering the Mavs can’t take him off the court for long stretches and he continues to put up huge numbers in every category. For the series, he’s averaging 38 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds while also adding two blocks+steals. It’s been complete with only the five turnovers a game dinging him some. But if you need to pay up on this slate, and you probably do, then Luka is the guy to go with. Derrick Rose FD - $7100 DK - $6800Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 40.44 DK - 40.72 The price on Rose has really come up in just a few short games, but so has the opportunity. He’s now firmly in the starting lineup and has played 39 minutes in each of the last two games. Last time out, a loss to the Hawks, Rose dropped 30 points on 13-21 shooting and also added six rebounds and five assists. He’s not going to be a big distributor, but the usage is definitely going to be there in this Knicks’ offense. The price hasn’t come up enough for what he is doing now and how much New York needs his scoring. Reggie Jackson (FD $4900 DK $4400) should remain in the starting lineup and if that’s the case then he makes a great value on DraftKings especially. Shooting Guard Devin Booker FD - $7800 DK - $8100Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 49.63 DK - 51.84 With Chris Paul banged up the Suns have struggled on offense. And it’s also been easier for the Lakers to focus a bit more on Booker in the offense. But to stay in this series, Phoenix will need everything they can get from their young superstar. In a close game, he’s a near-lock for 40+ minutes and the highest usage on the team. the scoring is actually even down a little over...

Point Guard Ben Simmons FD - $9000 DK - $7600Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 43.46 DK - 43.15 If Westbrook doesn’t play for the Wizards then it’s hard not to see this game turning into a massive blowout. Heck, it could go that way even if Russ plays just like it did last game. Simmons has been awesome in the first two games of the series, using the quick pace and porous Washington defense to average 14 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, and some defensive stats. Even with the minutes getting churned off in the last game because of the blowout he still found a way to pay value. Considering it’s still the best matchup on the slate, it’s hard to fade Simmons here. Goran Dragic FD - $5500 DK - $5400Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 34.49 DK - 36.34 Dragic got the start last game in place of Kendrick Nunn and I’m expecting that to happen this time again in Game 4. It’s an elimination game for the Heat so it’s tough to know where their motivation levels are going to be. But he’s still coming at too cheap a price for the new role. The Heat got blown out last game and Dragic was bad from a shooting perspective, going 3-14 from the field. But the price didn’t move all that much and the opportunity was there. I still think he’s a play and if in the starting lineup again is a pretty easy option here. Shooting Guard C.J. McCollum FD - $7400 DK - $7300Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 44.8 DK - 46.41 McCollum is still a pretty good deal on both sites, sitting in the $7K range, and is a candidate to continue playing 40+ minutes as he did in the last game of the series. He’s shot really well in this series, hitting 47% of his threes on almost seven attempts per game. He’s always going to play second scoring fiddle to Dame in the offense of course, but he’s also priced accordingly. The rebounding (seven per game) has been a nice addition and I think we can keep rolling with him in cash in this upper-middle tier....

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Friday, 5/28/21 We're getting to the guts of these critical First-Round series, and it's been fascinating up to this point. The most shocking series has been the Dallas-Los Angeles one, with the Mavs carrying a 2-0 lead back home. That means that Game 3 should be highly contested, but it's not like the Atlanta-New York one won't be either. The Boston-Brooklyn matchup is the only real concern in terms of blowout potential, but there's still value in that game too. With that in mind, let's kick things off with two guys who have been linked together since they were drafted. Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $10500 DK - $11000 Opponent - LAC Proj Pts FD - 60.28 DK - 64.81 Doncic has developed into one of the best players in fantasy at the ripe age of 22, and he looks to be on a different planet in this series so far. In the first two games of this first-round, Luka is averaging 35 points, 8.5 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. That has led to a 66.4 average on DraftKings, one of the highest totals in this postseason. While many people might be concerned about facing a tough defensive team like this, Luka has shown it really doesn't matter. In their five meetings this year, Doncic is averaging 64.7 fantasy points per game. Trae Young FD - $9000 DK - $8600 Opponent - NY Proj Pts FD - 44.66 DK - 47.19 I was concerned with Trae facing this Knicks defense in this series, but he's made minced meat of them so far. Trae is averaging 31 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game in the first two games against them. That might look shocking when you see NY's elite defensive statistics, but it's far from surprising when you see that Young is posting a 49-point average in his five meetings with the Knicks this year. The simple fact is, he's handling the ball on every possession and is taking on even more shots and usage in these critical playoff games. As long as that continues, Trae should be a five-figure player on both sites. If you're looking...
