Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD - P 10500 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - PHI (Zack Wheeler) Park - MIL FD - 40.6 DK - 23.21 Two pitchers in the thick of the National League CY Young race go head to head on Monday afternoon and while I will have exposure to both in GPP I lean Woodruff in cash games. First of all, he is cheaper on DraftKings which could provide huge on this smaller slate. What really stands out is the current form as Wheeler has struggled mightily giving up 4+ earned runs in four straight. For Woodruff, even with one big dud(6 earned runs @STL), has been terrific with a 3.03 ERA and 30% K rate in the second half. The floor feel much safer making him my top pitcher on this slate. Sonny Gray FD - P 9200 DK - SP 9000 Opponent - CHC (Justin Steele) Park - CHC FD - 34.47 DK - 18.64 Given this smaller slate and the elite matchup against the Cubs, I absolutely love the price on Sonny Gray considering he was over $10K in early August. Since two bad starts out of the ASB, he has been terrific posting a 2.79 ERA/3.95 xFIP and 25% K rate over his last seven starts. He now gets arguably his best matchup of the second half as a -165 favorite against a depleted Cubs team. He is my favorite PTS/$ pitcher on FanDuel and my favorite SP2 on DraftKings in all formats. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 4500 DK - 1B 5600 Opponent - NYY (Jameson Taillon) Park - NYY FD - 12.25 DK - 9.29 This almost feels like a DraftKings pricing mistake as Vladdy comes in red-hot yet has seen his price drop to near season-low levels. He extended his hit streak to 13 games on Sunday and if not for Shohei Ohtani doing never-before-seen-things, he would be the AL MVP as well. He now gets to face a struggling Jameson Taillon that has given up 21 hits and 17 earned runs over his last four starts. There is no way the price stays here so buy low while you can. Josh Bell FD - 1B 3400 DK - 1B/OF 4400 Opponent - NYM (Trevor Williams) Park - WSH FD - 11.01 DK - 8.22 If paying up for pitching and looking for some value at the position, I...

We've literally seen every sport over the last month, and it's scary that there's still a month in the MLB season. It does have us ready to kill this final month because there will be a lot of dead money in these DFS tourneys with football right around the corner. There's a lot to discuss, though, so let's go ahead and get into it! Pitchers Corbin Burnes FD - P 11500 DK - RP 9700 Opponent - STL (Jon Lester) Park - MIL FD - 46.92 DK - 27.02 Talking about players in the Cy Young running can be a bit frivolous at this time of the season, but Burnes is surely one of the frontrunners for NL Cy Young. We say that because he's got a 2.27 ERA and 0.94 WHIP, striking out 189 batters across 139 innings of action. That makes him a dominant option against anyone, but we love him against the struggling Cardinals. St. Louis currently ranks 25th in runs scored and 24th in wOBACON. That's on full display when you see what Burnes has done to them in three starts this year, generating a ridiculous 0.65 ERA and 0.53 WHIP. Luis Castillo FD - P 9900 DK - SP 8900 Opponent - DET (Casey Mize) Park - CIN FD - 34.79 DK - 19.12 Castillo was one of the worst pitchers in baseball through the first two months, but he's been an absolute beast since the calendar turned to June. Over his last 17 starts, Castillo has compiled a 2.84 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 9.4 K/9 rate. That even includes one eight-run disaster, with Luis allowing three runs or fewer in the other 17 starts. That's the stud we saw last season and the year before, and we believe he can continue that sparkling form against the Tigers. Detroit ranks 27th in K rate and 23rd in wOBA, with Castillo and the Reds entering this matchup as a -260 favorite. If you're feeling crazy, Zach Davies is a decent punt play with the way he limits hard contact. He should be fine against a Pirates club that owns the worst offense in baseball. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 4500 DK - 1B 6000 Opponent - OAK (Cole Irvin) Park - TOR FD - 14.22 DK - 10.78 Vlad is about to finish second...

Pitchers Early Jordan Montgomery FD 8400 DK 8800 Opponent - BAL (Chris Ellis) Park - BALFD - 35.78 DK - 18.96 Montgomery comes is in a massive -327 home favorite against the lowly Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees are in a tremendous spot here on the early slate of games. Montgomery has been decent this season, striking out close to a batter an inning, though you’d like to see the walks trend down just a little. The 3.52 ERA is about a half-run better than the 4.03 xFIP. The Orioles rank in the bottom-third of the league on offense and strike out about 24% of the time on the season. Tanner Houck (FD $7600 DK $8500) is in a good spot against the Indians on the early slates. I could also go with Chris Archer (FD $7000 DK $8100) who had the innings tick up some last game and has been excellent in his return to the Rays. Main Tyler Mahle FD 9600 DK 10200 Opponent - DET (Matthew Boyd) Park - DETFD - 36.52 DK - 20.08 Mahle comes in as the clear moneyline favorite from the early posted odds. And it makes sense considering he is facing off against a Detroit team that ranks in the bottom-third on offense this season and strikes out 26% of the time. Mahle, for his part, has been very good this season, sporting a solid 3.73 xFIP and striking out batters at a 28% clip. Four of his last five games have been excellent as well and he’s been able to go seven or more innings in three of those. This is a solid matchup against a weak offense and Mahle won’t break the bank for you on FanDuel. Catcher/First Base Early Anthony Rizzo FD 3800 DK 4300 Opponent - BAL (Chris Ellis) Park - BALFD - 13.68 DK - 10.24 When I said the Yankees were in a great spot against the Orioles, I didn’t just mean the pitching. The offense is set to put up some runs here as well against Chris Ellis. Rizzo has climbed the OPS to around .800 and he remains very difficult to strike out at 15.8% on the season. Hitting near the top of the Yankees’ lineup is such an advantage in terms of plate appearance expectation and run-scoring. The price isn’t in line with that opportunity, especially on DraftKings where he is too cheap. Main Freddie...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/3/21 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shohei Ohtani FD 10800 DK 8700 Opponent - TEX (Glenn Otto) Park - TEX FD - 42 DK - 22.47 There isn't really a top-tier pitcher who I can get behind tonight so will be going with a balanced approach on the mound and it starts with the obvious AL MVP in Ohtani. He is coming off a down start but even giving up three home runs(4 ER), he didn't destroy our lineups as he did tally seven punchouts. He now gets an elite matchup against a Rangers team that ranks dead last(and by a large margin) in almost every offensive category in the second half. At these prices, especially on DraftKings, he is easily my top pitcher on this slate. Kyle Gibson FD 9400 DK 8100 Opponent - MIA (Jesús Luzardo) Park - MIA FD - 34.91 DK - 18.67 If you are looking for upside you might want to look elsewhere but for cash games, Gibson provides us a consistent floor. Since coming over in a trade at the deadline, he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts(three in the other) and has posted a 3.16 ERA. He now faces a Marlins team that has fallen off in the second half ranking bottom five in almost all offensive categories. Catcher/First Base Jared Walsh FD 3100 DK 3900 Opponent - TEX (Glenn Otto) Park - TEX FD - 11.22 DK - 8.42 The first thing that stands out when breaking down the first base position is all the value that is available. For me, that starts with Jared Walsh who is back under $4K on DraftKings while almost hitting the $6K range earlier this summer. He was the reason the Angels released future HoFer Albert Pujols and while not having a breakout season, he has been solid with 25 home runs and 79 RBI. Given the price and his four-game hit streak, I will have exposure to Walsh in all formats tonight, especially as a cash play on DraftKings. Anthony Rizzo FD 3500 DK 4100 Opponent - BAL (John Means) Park - BAL FD - 10.89 DK - 8.15 This isn't the first time we have mentioned Rizzo with his reduced price but this time he is finally performing making this less speculative(at least that is what I am telling myself). he enters the night with hits in three straight and...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/2/21 – Main Slate

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/2/21 - Main Slate Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shane McClanahan FD 10100 DK 10100 Opponent - BOS (Eduardo Rodriguez) Park - BOS FD - 39.66 DK - 21.73 We get a very small slate tonight so the drop in price for McClanahan is minor considering the tougher matchup vs. the Red Sox. The good news is that Rays went into Wednesday's game winners of nine straight overall and nine of their last 10 vs. the Red Sox. For McClanahan, he has been very good in his rookie season and even better in the second half posting a 2.90 ERA/3.26 xFIP while striking out 27% of batters and has picked wins in five straight starts. He is my top pitcher on this slate in all formats. Carlos Carrasco FD 6800 DK 8000 Opponent - MIA (Zach Thompson) Park - MIA FD - 34.95 DK - 19.35 It was a long road back after a spring training injury but not many have been better facing adversity than Carrasco. The Mets eased him back into action upon his return at the end of July and the good news is that he is coming off his best start of the season(7 IP, 3 hits, 2 ER, 5 K, 0 BB) and it came against the top team in baseball. If he is finally stretched out to 85+ pitchers, he is a steal at these prices against a Marlins team that ranks bottom five in almost all categories in the second half. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 4000 DK 5900 Opponent - COL (Chi Chi González) Park - COL FD - 17.72 DK - 13.26 With a smaller slate and the game in Coors Field, we are going to want to jam as many Braves bats in our lineups as possible tonight. The good news is that there is lots of value on their team which will help us get to Freeman. He may not be having another MVP season but has still been very good with a .293/.388/.503 slash line and sits third in baseball with 95 runs scored. Also making it him a priority is the fact the position is pretty dry after him. He is in play in all formats. Austin Hedges FD 2300 DK 2200 Opponent - KC (Mike Minor) Park - KC FD - 6.67 DK - 5.03 On DraftKings, I am almost always looking for value or to straight punt the position in cash...
