Pitchers Lucas Giolito FD 9900 DK 10300 Opponent - DET (Matt Manning) Park - DETFD - 40.98 DK - 22.32 We are rounding out the season here and there are teams like the White Sox who have definitely taken their foot off the gas. They have a playoff spot locked up and these games are more about prep than anything else. We saw that with Lance Lynn on Friday who went only 84 pitches in the win. That could, for sure, be the case with Giolito here. But he still comes in with the best win odds and is a -284 home favorite against the lowly Tigers. It is something to monitor, but Giolito has had a fantastic season and the K stuff should be there even if the innings are a bit lower. Chris Flexen FD 9100 DK 8900 Opponent - LAA (Jhonathan Diaz) Park - LAAFD - 33.21 DK - 17.68 The Mariners are technically (somehow) in the Wild Card hunt in the American League despite a -49 win differential on the season. But alas, luck plays a factor and here we are. Flexen is -177 home favorite and this game only has an eight over/under. He doesn’t have much in the way of K stuff this season, but the Angels stink and this is a must-win for the Angels. That isn’t the case for almost anyone else on the slate. I don’t want to run Corbin Burnes into the Dodgers’ lineup nor Julio Urias into the Brewers considering those two teams aren’t really pressing right now. Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD 3200 DK 4600 Opponent - OAK (Paul Blackburn) Park - OAKFD - 12.77 DK - 9.79 The Astros are another team with everything locked up here so who knows which way they go with their lineup. In an ideal world, Gurriel is hitting cleanup against Blackburn and is still coming at a lower price on FanDuel. He is going to finish the season with an OPS around .840 and has 14 home runs. The 2019 power doesn’t look like it’s coming back, but that’s the case for a lot of guys. He puts the ball in play nearly 80% of the time and makes for a high-floor cash play. Mitch Garver FD 3100 DK 4200 Opponent - KC (Kris Bubic) Park - KCFD - 11.61 DK - 8.68 Garver should be in the three...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 10/1/21

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers The decisions at starting pitcher are tough tonight as Kershaw is likely on a pitch count, the White Sox and Astros, with their divisions locked up, won't be pushing Lynn or Valdez and Sandy Alcantara tops the salary on DraftKings. There are a few spots that do stand out so let's get started. Ranger Suárez FD - P 9000 DK - SP 8800 Opponent - MIA (Sandy Alcantara) Park - MIA FD - 30.04 DK - 15.32 The Phillies have been getting a glimpse into their future as Suarez has been making a strong case to open the 2022 season in the rotation. Since they fully stretched him out in late August, he has been spectacular holding opponents to just seven earned runs over seven starts while striking out 45(27%) and walking eight. Tonight, he and the Phillies are -120 favorites against a Marlins team that ranks in the bottom third offensively. At these prices, Suarez is my top pitcher in all formats. Steven Matz FD 8000 DK 8700 Opponent - BAL (Undecided) Park - BAL FD - 37.07 DK - 19.7 Continuing with the balanced approach, we have Steven Matz who won't be limited tonight as the Jays are in do or die mode in the final three days of the season. Matz has been a welcome addition to the rotation this season and has impressed with a 3.88 ERA/3.95 xFIP and has been terrific down the stretch allowing two or fewer earned runs in nine of his last 10 starts. He now faces a bottom-five offense in Baltimore to close out his season and hopefully help the Jays playoff push. I will have exposure in all formats and will be pairing him with Suarez in cash games. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 3900 DK 5500 Opponent - NYM (Tylor Megill) Park - NYM FD - 13.54 DK - 10.13 There is some risk in rostering players from teams who have locked up their playoff spot but this is a great spot that I want to get exposure to on this slate. Freeman has been closing out the season strong hitting .320 with a .386 wOBA in the month of September and now gets a plus matchup against rookie Tylor Megill who has really struggled against left-handed bats(.413 wOBA against). The Braves are one of my top teams to target tonight and Freeman is my top overall play at...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/30/21

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Robbie Ray FD - P 10800 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - NYY (Corey Kluber) Park - TOR FD - 40.6 DK - 21.63 The Jays can make the American League wildcard race even crazier with another win against the Yankees tonight and the good news is they are sending their ace to the mound. On top of the playoffs, Ray is also in the running for the Cy Young and got some help there with his offense getting to Cole last night. For Ray, the floor is high as he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 21 of 31 stars and he also has a ton of upside with a slider that is creating a 24% swinging-strike rate and 58% K rate. It won't be easy against the Yankees bats but on this slate, Ray is my top pitcher in all formats. Joe Ryan FD - P 8800 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - MIN FD - 31.83 DK - 17.27 Things get interesting at Sp2 on DraftKings tonight with no pitcher really standing out above the rest. While the price is going parabolic, I am on rookie Joe Ryan who has more than impressed since being called up in September. He has gone at least five innings in all four starts, held opponents to just six earned runs(2.45 ERA/3.54 xFIP), and has struck out 25(32%) while walking just three. He now gets a matchup against a below-average Tigers offense as a -185 favorite and is my top SP2 and one of my top overall pitchers on this slate. Catcher/First Base Pete Alonso FD 3800 DK 3900 Opponent - MIA (Edward Cabrera) Park - MIA FD - 11.82 DK - 8.78 This is much more about DraftKings tonight as Alonso's price has dipped into the $3K range. It's as if he is priced based on his average(.258) and not by his production as he enters the night with a .357 wOBA, 129 wRC+ with 35 home runs, and 89 RBI. The matchup is also above-average as Cabrera has struggled to a 5.79 ERA/5.49 xFIP through his first six starts and it comes down to control walking 3+ in five of those six starts. That should help the Mets get on base for Alonso who has a ton of upside. GPP only on FanDuel but a great PTS/$ value in all...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! We're finally down to the final week of the season! This is when chaos ensues and when we can capitalize on being up on the news. There are so many random things happening in terms of pitch counts and lineups that you need to be zoned in to be successful. We feel like we are here, so let's go ahead and get into it! Pitchers Frankie Montas FD - P 9900 DK - SP 9400 Opponent - SEA (Logan Gilbert) Park - SEA FD - 34.89 DK - 18.49 It looks like Oakland will miss out on a playoff berth, but it's certainly no fault of Frankies! This dude has been electric in the second half, generating a 2.38 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 rate since the end of June. That's a long stretch of success, with Montas scoring at least 37 FanDuel points in 12 of those outings. That's well above our projection, and we believe he can surpass it here in a matchup like this. Seattle currently ranks 27th in OBP, 26th in K rate, and 25th in OPS. That's why they have a projection of 3.6 runs, which would be one of the lowest on this slate. Taijuan Walker FD - P 7300 DK - SP 6600 Opponent - MIA (Elieser Hernandez) Park - NYM FD - 38.03 DK - 20.75 This is a risky one, but Walker has some serious upside in this matchup. Let's kick things off by talking about that, with the Marlins ranked 28th in both runs scored and OPS while sitting dead-last in xwOBA. Those horrific averages make Walker an intriguing option at home, with Taijuan tallying a 3.55 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 8.9 K/9 rate at Citi Field this season. That's far from surprising when you look at how spacious Citi Field is, and it should allow Walker to maintain this weak lineup despite his recent struggles. Vegas certainly agrees with our assessment, making the Mets a -180 favorite in a game with a total of 7. If you have the salary, Gerrit Cole is obviously a good pick. Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 4100 DK - 1B 4800 Opponent - MIL (Adrian Houser) Park - STL FD - 10.6 DK - 7.97 Goldy has been a regular for me recently, and it's easy to understand why when you look at his numbers. He's got a .563 OBP and 1.705 OPS over...

Pitchers Logan Webb FD 9000 DK 8900 Opponent - ARI (Luke Weaver) Park - ARIFD - 45.78 DK - 24.69 Webb has turned into a borderline ace for the Giants this season, striking out batters at a 9.5 K/9 rate and rocking a 2.82 xFIP. Both are the best numbers of his young career and he piled on his most innings this season as well. There’s some concern that with the regular season all but wrapped up for the Giants, that they might take it easy here. But if they are incentivized to win the NL West and stave off the Dodgers, then Webb could get a full complement of pitches. The Giants are the biggest money line favorites at -292 making Webb’s win odds the best of the slate. He won’t cost you a ton on either site and makes an easy cash game play. Chris Sale FD 10000 DK 9400 Opponent - BAL (Bruce Zimmermann) Park - BALFD - 40.57 DK - 22.99 In terms of win odds and matchup, Sale isn’t too far behind Webb here coming into the game with the Red Sox as -272 road favorites against the lowly Orioles. Baltimore and Arizona are easily the worst two teams in baseball, making this a great chance to stack arms against them on DraftKings. Since coming back from the injury that held him out for so long, Sale has been solid, though not exactly at his previous ace-level stuff. He’s striking out batters at a 26% clip and has a 2.57 ERA that is punching above the 3.38 xFIP. The Red Sox haven’t wanted to push him a ton, but the price and matchup is too good to pass up here. Catcher/First Base Ryan Zimmerman FD 2700 DK 4400 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 12.55 DK - 9.48 With the Nationals heading into Coors Field, Zimmerman is coming too cheap on both sites considering his splits, the matchup, and the park. He’s a platoon guy at this point but still does major damage to lefty pitching. On the season, he has a .900 OPS and .374 wOBA in that split, following a career trend line that has seen him tune up southpaws. He should be around fifth or sixth in the lineup and the Nationals have an implied run line over 5.5. This is an easy spot to roster Zimmerman,...
