Point Guards John Wall FD - $10000 DK - $10300 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 50.2 DK - 53.35 When we're targeting DFS upside a general rule of thumb is play guys facing fast-paced, bad defensive teams. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the 2016-17 Brooklyn Nets. Remember a couple of years ago when we were playing everyone against the Sixers with a 101 PACE and 107 Def Eff? This season the Nets are at 104/108 respectively. Now, the pace of the league in general is way up, but the Nets rank off the charts with these stats. Wall's coming off a monster 36/9/11 line against the Pacers and would also see a decent usage boost if Bradley Beal were to sit with the ankle issue (which I think he will). Wall's on ball time is third in the league behind only Russ and Harden and healthily above Lillard. That stands to increase without Beal and either way this matchup is just made for DFS purposes. Reggie Jackson FD - $5500 DK - $5700 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 28.61 DK - 30.75 Before last game, R-Jax had logged 30 minutes a game on lock. But then against the Bucks last time out he ran 34 minutes including some time spent at the two guard. Jackson's third in the league in time of possession per touch and we'd been waiting for the minutes to uptick just a tad. It looks like that might be the case here and I think speculating on a 5-10% bump in court time is realistic. Atlanta's struggled on D of late and I think Jackson an excellent value up against Schroder. Jrue Holiday FD - $7000 DK - $6300 Opponent - NY Proj Pts FD - 34.29 DK - 36.59 The Pelicans are coming off a three game stretch of non-ideal DFS matchups in the Clippers, Mavs and Heat. That would go some way to explain Holiday's lack of production in the short term. Tonight they get...

What We Know Goran Dragic expects to return against the Hornets Dragic missed last game, and Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson took advantage. He expects t return tonight, and that will downgrade both of those guys a ton. If he soehow misses the game once again, Johnson and Richardson are both great plays once again. Joel Embiid is out against the Jazz Embiid has missed a lot of games this year, so we know what should happen here. Ersan Ilyasova has averaged over 1 FPPM with a 24% usage when Embiid is off the court, and at his price, you have to love his chances. With that being said, Nerlens Noel is said to be getting more minutes, which could murky up the waters. Against the Jazz, the right play could be to stay away. What We're Waiting to Know Kyrie Irving missed practice, but expects to play I think the Cavs get up for this one, and Kyrie should be able to get in there. Against Isaiah Thomas defense, Kyrie should be able to get in the lane and have plenty of opportunities. This is a game I want to target heavily, so I am willing to play Kyrie off of an injury tag. You can target this game in all formats. Mike Conley is questionable against the Thunder Conley plays a lot of boring minutes at the PG spot, but is in play if he is in full health tonight. If he misses, Andrew Harrison would be one of the better value plays on this slate. Westbrook is very volatile on defense, as he risks it a lot which leaves his man open. Either way this goes, there is someone to play. The "Every Lineup" Guys DeMar Derozan DeRozan and the Raptors face off with the Suns, who play at a fast pace and tend to play less than average defense. Between the two stars, DeRozan also has the better match up as...

DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 12/29/16 DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis break down a 6 game NBA slate with some interesting considerations heading in. The first big question is whether you can play Russell Westbrook against a slow/ defensively elite team like the Grizzlies. That will be one of the biggest questions going into the night. Then there’s injury concerns with Mike Conley and Goran Dragic which could effect lineups if they sit. They also discuss Demar Derozan, Lebron James, Kevin Love and Hassan Whiteside as other possible big money plays. Subscribe to this podcast on...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 12/29/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 12/29/16 Well, it's that weird time between Christmas and New Years where you're working off your holiday dessert calories and preparing for your New Year's Eve alcohol calories, so what better time than to fire up a small Thursday NBA slate? No better time, says I. As of this writing both FanDuel and DraftKings basketball lineups are looking phenomenal, so hopefully this will be a good mood article. Those are the best kind. I love you guys. Really, I do. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our NFL Optimizer, and our new NFL player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guards Deron Williams FD - $6400 DK - $5900Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 31.12 DK - 33.41 Williams had averaged 5x+ points per dollar over his prior 8 games before last game's stinker, and that was of course strictly due to the game getting out of hand. His usage has been excellent as well, averaging 17 shots per game in the 4 games leading up to the last game. With Dirk still relegated to 15-17 minutes per game, it's hard to imagine that changing against the Lakers. The Lakers have allowed Showtime performances (if you know what I mean) to opposing point guards all season, allowing the 6th most fantasy points per game to them. On a relatively shallow slate (and a rough slate for the position), I expect Williams to be a unanimous cash game play unless some big news comes out. Shelvin Mack FD - $4000 DK - $4400Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 22.66 DK - 24.82 After Williams, things get a little bit dicier. When things are questionable at a position, I like to try and escape it cheaply. Enter Shelvin Mack. Utah's back-up point guard has been playing a 33-34 minute rotation with George Hill on the sideline, and as of now, there is no word that he is returning. The report from Wednesday morning was that Hill might give it a shot, and if he does, Mack's value plummets completely - but if he's out, Mack has a great spot against the sub-par Philly back court. Russell Westbrook FD - $12500 DK - $12700Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 59.08 DK - 62.84 Something tells me a lot of people are going to play Russell Westbrook tonight, and it's hard to blame them. The thundering triple-double machine has...

What We Know Chris Paul is officially questionable, but closer to doubtful Paul will likely be out again tonight, which means Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton are both in play. I prefer Rivers, but see the merit in both. They would both get a bump if J.J. Redick misses as well. If Paul somehow returns, they are all out of play. Damian Lillard is out against the Kings Lillard missed last game, and C.J. McCollum took advantage. Playing most of his minutes at point guard, McCollum finished with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. He is in line for another big game tonight and is a good play across the board. Allen Crabbe is also in play, as he saw 35 minutes last game. Jeremy Lin did not travel and will miss the next two games Jeremy Lin just returned from injury two weeks ago, so they will be delicate here. Sean Kilpatrick has the most to gain, as the ball will be in his hands more now. He is a decent play tonight, but there are better ways to go. What We're Waiting to Know Evan Fournier is questionable against the Hornets Fournier has been injured for a week and a half now, and is likely going to miss his 3rd straight game. If he does, Jodie Meeks becomes a great value play. he will play close to 30 minutes, and would have plenty of opportunities against the Hornets. If he plays, the Magic don't offer too much appeal to me. Monta Ellis has been upgraded to questionable Ellis has been gone for a while, so his return would mess things up. If he returns, I would downgrade all of the starters just a little bit, and Glenn Robinson the most. I am not too interested in any of these guys tonight, outside of tournaments. J.J. Redick is a GTD With Paul already doubtful, there could be a ton of minutes up for...
