DFSR’s Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/12/17
DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Tuesday 1/10/17 DFSR crew of Doug Norrie and James Davis break down an interesting night in the NBA. There are six games, two potential blowouts and an up-in-the-air Bulls’ situation. They start by talking about the Bulls and where those minutes go without Butler, Wade and Mirotic. Last game the bench guys like Rondo and Valentine saw more minutes than expected. The guys think they go back toward the starters with minutes tonight. They also talk about the blowouts with guys like Curry and Durant and if they see minutes going into the fourth. Then James calls the commissioner of the NBA Adam Levine instead of Adam Silver. So nice job by him. Edit: We do a bunch of analysis on Dwyane Wade being out, and it turns out he won't be out after all. He is an amazing SG play Subscribe to this podcast on...

Point Guard Jrue Holiday FD - $6800 DK - $7000 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 36.83 DK - 39.3 Holiday and the Pelicans face off with the Nets here, in what happens to be my favorite game of the day to target. Both of these teams play fast, and the Nets especially so. These teams also lack good individual defenders outside of Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday. Holiday will match up with a combo of Kilpatrick and Whitehead, and he will dominate both. Davis and Holiday have been great running the pick and roll lately, and they will go right back to it tonight. Brook Lopez could care less about defense, and I see no chance he wants to get in the way of Anthony Davis. Holiday is going to attack, and he has no problem taking some shots as well. He will be effective tonight, and his price isn't too high. He only needs about 38 to make you happy in tournaments, and I have him protected way higher. I think he gets to 40 tonight, and his upside is over 50. The Nets play really fast, and i'm excited to see what Jrue Holiday can do here. Deron Williams FD - $5900 DK - $5600 Opponent - PHO Proj Pts FD - 28.59 DK - 30.88 Deron Williams is a guy I don't love to roster, but is sometimes the necessary evil. He has actually been pretty good since returning from injury, usually staying around 30 fantasy points. He gets a good pace match up with the Suns, who love to run and gun. Williams will match up with good defender in Eric Bledsoe, but the pure amount of possessions and the speed of the game lets me ignore that. He is price really cheap on both of sites, and only needs 28 to hit value for you in cash games. He has the potential for way more, and this game has a ton of potential. We will touch on a couple more of these guys as we move on, but definitely keep an eye on Williams. If you want different exposure at this price range, I would consider Derrick Rose facing off with the Bulls. You have to...

What We Know Eric Gordon is out against the Timberwolves Gordon is a gunslinger off the bench, so his absence will eave some shots. Corey Brewer will grab the majority of the minutes, and Sam Dekker is pretty interesting off the beech as well. However, I think this helps Harden most. He will shoot a few more 3s, and anything helps at his inflated price tag. He is a good play in all formats, but you must consider what he does to the rest of the lineup. What We're Waiting to Know Avery Bradley is questionable against the Warriors Bradley affects a ton, from Marcus Smart to Bradley Beal. If he misses, Marcus Smart, Isaiah Thomas, John Wall and Bradley Beal all become better plays, for various reasons. Smart and Wall are my favorite of the bunch, and I like Beal and Thomas in tournaments. Jae Crowder may also pick up some usage, and he is a decent middle tier SF option. Serge Ibaka and Elfrid Payton questionable to play the Clippers Both of these guys are important to this offense, and we haven't seen both of them out at the same time. If both of them do miss, I will have a ton of Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic. I will also have exposure to Evan Fournier and D.J. Augustin, who will pick up minutes and usage. If only one misses, you can plug in whoever starts for the guy who is out. I like Aaron Gordon either way here. Zach LaVine is "unlikely" to play LaVine is top 5 in the league in minutes per game, and he shoots a lot too. Last time he was out, Nemanja Bjelica played 41 minutes, and had a huge fantasy game. He is a good option off the bench, and all the starts see a bump too. This bumps KAT and Wiggins to elite plays, as they figure to see the ball a lot more, and...

Point Guard John Wall FD - $9500 DK - $9200 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 45.06 DK - 47.93 John Wall had a very nice game last night, finishing with 26 points and 14 assists. He played 40 minutes, which admittedly scares me a little bit. With that being said, he has played 2 back to backs recently, and played over 36 minutes in all 4 of the games. Isaiah Thomas is not a dominant defender, and is also coming off of a highly competitive game with the Raptors. They may put Marcus Smart on him at some point as well, but he is not fast enough nor skilled enough to stay with John Wall. Wall is expensive, but has a great floor and a ceiling high enough for tournaments. Point guard is a deep position, so I don't mind going elsewhere. However, that may keep his ownership down, and that is something that needs to be taken advantage of if the case. Damian Lillard FD - $9000 DK - $8500 Opponent - CLE Proj Pts FD - 43.98 DK - 47.05 Lillard missed 4 or 5 games least week and returned on Thursday against the Lakers, playing 36 minutes and scoring 45 fantasy points. He then played over 40 minutes against Detroit on Sunday. The Blazers are comfortable stretching Lillard out, and he has a fantastic match up. The Cavs have a great team defense, but can definitely give it up to the point guard. Kyrie Irving is easily the Cavs worst defender, and Lillard will look to take advantage. Lillard is a tad bit cheaper, and this is a game I will look to target a ton in tournaments. Lillard is definitely a tournament play, and I wouldn't shy away from him in cash games, but do prefer Wall there. Lillard only played 31 minutes last night, so I think his minutes are pretty safe here. Mike Conley FD - $7200 DK - $6900 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 35.47 DK - 37.62 The Grizzlies and Thunder faced off a little more than a week ago, and Conley was forced to sit with an injury. He will get his chance to do his damage tonight, in a game that...

What We Know Jimmy Butler & Dwayne Wade will sit out against the Wizards This leaves a ton of shots and minutes in the air. Jerian Grant is the first guy I look to, as he initiated offense, which is what they will need in this game. Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic should also see some more minutes and shots, and I like them both. The Wizards play at a fast pace, and you have to think some of these Bulls are going to kill value. Avery Bradley is out vs the Raptors Bradley missed last game, and Marcus Smart definitely took advantage. i wouldn't expect another performance that great, but he is deifnitely in play across the board. DeMar DeRozan will also see slightly worse defense from Marcus Smart, though he is a still an above average defender. Isaiah Thomas remains a great play in all formats and he will see his usage go up slightly. Josh Richardson isn't expected to play against the Warriors J-Rich has been averaging 36 minutes per game for the heat in December/January, so there are definitely some minutes up for grabs. Goran Dragic should play a ton tonight, along with James Johnson and Hassan Whiteside. i think everyone else sees around 28 minutes, and has a lot of upside. This game could work well for Tyler Johnson, who excels in fast paced affairs. I like this game a lot tonight, but mostly from the Heat side. LaMarcus Aldridge is out for rest purposes Aldridge is going to get a few games like this all year long, and we will look right to Kawhi Leonard and Pau Gasol. Both of them should see 34 minutes, and have a ton of safety and upside against the Bucks. Leonard has one of the better possible match ups, and I will have a ton of exposure to him in both cash games and tournaments, especially if Antetokounmpo is out. Klay Thompson will...
