Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 1/20/17

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 1/20/17 Tonight is appointment television with the Rockets and Warriors playing. That's about all you need to know about how exciting it can get in the NBA. But there's plenty of other value beyond that game and we've got a lot to dissect for a full slate in the NBA. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our NFL Optimizer, and our new NFL player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. Point Guards Jrue Holiday FD - $6500 DK - $7200 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 33.22 DK - 35.72 Let's start with teams who’re just straight up awful at defending. The Nets make every other bottom feeding squad look like defensive stalwarts. They’re getting shredded in every facet of the defensive game and point guards just rip them apart. They’re allowing 7% more scoring and 10% more assists than league average to opposing ones. Holiday put up a 21/4/4 line in 31 minutes when they played last week and that strikes me as on the low end of what could happen here tonight. That game was without Davis, so a usage bump saw him get more shots, but also resulted in a few less assists than his baseline. Look for those numbers to meet in the middle here and the minutes to tick up some. Damian Lillard FD - $8400 DK - $8500 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 42.12 DK - 45.35 In the short term, Lillard’s been on the wrong end of a couple of blowouts and a few of bad shooting nights. That’s pushed the price down and he’s now coming as a value play against the Sixers who are about league average defending point guards this season. I’m mostly looking to buy Lillard at a discount considering four of his last five games have seen him play less than average minutes because of games getting out of hand. That will make the game log look rough, but also will turn other folks away from the guy. He’s an elite scorer in the right situation and the Blazers are fine running him big minutes if the game is close. This is a fantastic time to scoop him when others might be soured on the recent performance. Jeff Teague FD - $8000 DK - $7900 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 35.94 DK - 38.65 It’s hard to know exactly how a player...

What We Know Wilson Chandler, Gary Harris & Darrell Arthur are all out vs the Spurs The Nuggets are a bit of a mess tonight, and these 3 guys have all been confirmed out. With Gallinari questionable too, Will Barton could be in for huge minutes. We will talk about him later. Jameer Nelson could also see some minutes, and he is a decent punt option at point guard. Chris Paul will miss 6-8 weeks Paul is obviously a huge piece of the Clippers offense, and his leave let a few different guys get some minutes. Austin Rivers should benefit most, and I see him being a viable way to go on a nightly basis. J.J. Redick has his minutes solidified, and you can play him in cash games. Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton are the 2 wild cards, and I like them in tournaments. What We're Waiting to Know Danilo Gallinari is questionable against the Spurs If Gallinari plays, he could be in for a healthy amount of minutes and makes for a good GPP play. If Gallo misses, Will Barton is a terrific option. We will get there. Mike Miller could also see some extra minutes, but this is 2017. Say no to Mike Miller. Kevin Love is questionable against the Suns I expect Love to play tonight, but I hope he doesn't. Channing Frye will likely play big minutes, and he could have some revenge on hsi mind against his old team. LeBron does a good job getting him involved on the offense, and he would be a near lock if he got the start. Joakim Noah & Kristaps Porzingis are expected to miss It looks like both of these guys are going to miss the game, and I am glad. Kyle O'Quinn should step in and play big minutes, and he is a good way to look at center. Marcin Gortat also gets a bump, as O'Quinn is not a good...

DFSR’s Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/19/17

DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/19/17 The DFSR crew of James Davis and Doug Norrie talk a five game slate of NBA action. This one is a tricky one with two of the five games coming in as potential blowouts. Both the Cavs and Spurs opened at -12.5 favorites over the Suns and Nuggets respectively. They discuss how Chris Paul’s injury opens up a ton of minutes for Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton at point guard. They also discuss Roddick and Jamal Crawford in that back court as well. Then they weight the safety in a guy like Carmelo Anthony coming off a bad night against the Celtics. The power forward and center positions look particularly thin with most of the big money and even value guys coming in with question marks. Subscribe to this podcast on...

Point Guard Austin Rivers FD - $5600 DK - $5200 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 25.88 DK - 27.64 Raymond Felton FD - $5500 DK - $4800 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 24.43 DK - 26.18 Chris Paul will miss 6 or so weeks with a finger injury, and both of these guys are going to have to step up. Doc trusts Felton to run the point, and he should see around 25 minutes per night. Austin Rivers is the guy I am mostly interested in. The upside is obvious, and he has shown it before. The Timberwolves have been rather average against point guards, and Ricky Rubio is no crazy man to man defender. I think both of these guys will be able to produce at least 1 FP per minute. Rivers should get plenty of opportunity here, and this could be the door he needed to prove himself in the league. He has seen a huge bump in both minutes and production with CP3 out this year, and we will see a gradual price increase as Rivers establishes himself. This Chris Paul injury opens up a lot, and we will be looking at multiple guys to take advantage. Rivers is my favorite of the two, and Felton is a guy I like in cash games. Kyrie Irving FD - $8400 DK - $8600 Opponent - PHO Proj Pts FD - 39.65 DK - 42.38 This is a game I will look to target a lot tonight, and especially from the Cavaliers side. The big 3 have a great match up, and the game should stay pretty competitive. Eric Bledsoe is a good defender, but the Suns play fast and lack defensive efficiency. Irving has played well against the Suns, finishing with 27, 2 and 7 only a month ago. Irving is a guy who is very up and down, which makes him a tournament play by nature. I will look to target some other Cavs in cash games, and stick to tournaments with Irving. You can also look into stacking this game, as the 2 tams have concentrated scoring, and can do a lot of it. Eric Bledsoe FD - $8000 DK - $7700 Opponent - CLE Proj Pts...
