DFSR’s Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/26/17
DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/26/17 DFSR’s Doug Norrie runs an NBA solo pod today of the four-game Thursday slate of games. First he looks back at some of the injury concerns from last night with guys like Anthony Davis and Hassan Whiteside both exiting early and crushing some lineups. He then goes deep into the Dallas injury issues for today with Dirk Nowitzki, Wes Matthews and Deron Williams already ruled out. That opens the door for Seth Curry, Harrison Barnes and possibly Pierre Jackson logging heavy minutes. Really all of the healthy Mavs are in play to some extent. Other talk includes paying up for Westbrook, and how to evaluate the minutes for guys like Nikola Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets’ team. Then at the 27:30 mark Chris Durell jumps on the line to talk tonight’s huge slate of NHL action right before the All-Star Break. They discuss basic NHL strategy as well as some goalies, stacks and players you can keep an eye out for tonight. Subscribe to this podcast on...

Point Guard Russell Westbrook FD - $12700 DK - $12600 Opponent - DAL Proj Pts FD - 55.81 DK - 59.81 We have a pretty interesting 4 game slate tonight, and Westbrook is going to come is as our top point guard. The price is obviously tough, but the numbers don't lie. He is consistently the top scoring player on the board, and will very rarely kill you. This game does come in with a 201 over/under, which is very low for the OKC Thunder. That does worry me a little bit, but I do think he is easily the top scoring play of the day. Deron Williams got hurt last night, and Wesley Matthews has already been ruled out. That leaves Pierre Jackson and Seth Curry for PG, and neither of those guys can play defense. Westbrook is going to absolutely obliterate both of them, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Harrison Barnes on him by the end of the night. With so much value on this slate, Westbrook will be a staple across my lineups. Jeff Teague FD - $7500 DK - $7200 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 35.7 DK - 38.51 Teague has flown under the radar for the majority of this season, but has been very good. You could make an argument that he's been the best player on this team so far, and you would probably be right. The Pacers haven't played in 3 days, so these guys should be pretty well rested. I would expect big minutes from Teague, who is the catalyst and heartbeat of this offense. He has a good match up too, facing off with Ricky Rubio and Kris Dunn. Both of them are great at getting steals, but not too great at real defense. Teague will be able to get to the rim at will, and the open shots will be available. His price is pretty fair on both sites, sitting in the mid $7k's. He should hit value with ease, and the ceiling in tournaments is there as well. We have seen big games from Teague this year, and this could be one of them. You will have to get point guard right on this slate, and there are a few...

What We Know Demar Derozan will remain out vs the Grizzlies, as expected Derozan said he would sit out this game, and he confirmed it against last night. Norman Powell got the start, and he produced. I like him again tonight, and will have exposure in cash games and tournaments. Terrence Ross could also see some minutes, and he has a ton of tournaments upside. Joel Embiid & Jahlil Okafor are both expected to remain out Embiid & Okafor both sat yesterday, and Nerlens Noel certainly took advantage. He played 29 minutes, and came through with 45 fantasy points. 29 minutes should be his floor tonight, and I could see him grabbing 35. Ersan Ilyasova will also see a usage bump, and he is a great play across the board. What We're Waiting to Know Tyreke Evans is questionable against the Thunder Tyreke is still only playing about 20 minutes, so his absence wouldn't do too much for me. I will likely be fading Evans either way, and anyone who would potentially replace him. Anthony Davis is the only guy I have interest here tonight. Cody Zeller & Frank Kaminsky are questionable vs the Warriors Zeller was one of the cheaper guys I liked at center coming into the day, but this news certainly dampens him. If one of these guys misses and one plays, I like the one that plays. If they both miss, you have to look at Spencer Hawes. He would be forced to play 28 minutes, and is always a great FP per minute guy. The "Every Lineup" Guys Goran Dragic We talked about both of these guys in the main picks article, and they remain some of my favorite plays. Dragic is being touted a lot today around the industry, but rightfully so. The Nets play extremely fast, and are atrocious against point guards. Dragic can easily take over a game, and his upside is crazy if the shot is...

We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Damian Lillard FD - $8300 DK - $8600 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 41.22 DK - 44.52 There are definitely a few ways to go here at point guard. If you want to pay way up, you have Russell Westbrook. Westbrook takes on the Pelicans tonight, and I like him in tournaments. In cash games, Damian Lillard is the most expensive I will be going. He gets a great match up with the Lakers here who give up the 4th most FP to point guards. Lillard has shown the upside recently, and I think he is safe for a cash game as well as a tournaments. With D'Angelo Russell out, you can expect Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson to cover Lillard for the most part. He is faster and stronger than both of those guys, and will have no problem enforcing his will. The price is a little high, but that should keep ownership down a little bit. Goran Dragic FD - $7000 DK - $7300 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 39.72 DK - 42.29 This is the same drill we have been running for a while now. Who's playing the Nets? Ok, let's play that PG and C. The Nets are a horrid defense, and the pace they play at helps none. The Heat usually play at slow pace, so this uptick in possessions could cause some huge games. Dragic is one of my favorite Heat tonight, and should be a virtual lock for 40 in cash games. Spencer Dinwiddie and Sean Kilpatrick are both poor defenders, and Dragic will eat up both. He is priced fairly, sitting just above $7k. The upside is there for much more than 40 from Dragic, and he has shown that a few times already this season. You can target the Dragon is cash games and tourneys. Kemba Walker FD - $7800 DK - $7900 Opponent - GS Proj Pts FD - 38.91 DK - 41.49 There really are a lot of ways to go at point guard, and I think Kemba is a way to go that has crazy upside and a decent amount of safety. First of all, Walker and the Hornets are MUCH better at home, and I think...

What We Know Demar Derozan will sit out the next 2 games This isn't too great of a match up against the Spurs, but you have to consider Kyle Lowry. He will see a huge bump in minutes, and the Spurs aren't great against point guards. Norman Powell and Terrence Ross could also see some extended run, and they are great tournament options. Joel Embiid is out for 2 more games Embiid basically makes this team decent, so him being out really hurts. Okafor and Noel will both see minutes, and I see the merit in using both. The Clippers are very average against big men, so both have tournament upside. Blake Griffin will likely return tonight This definitely makes the Clippers a bit of a mess, but there may be somewhere to go. The 76ers will be without Embiid, which makes them very weak down low. Griffin will likley play limited minutes, and this will take away all interest from Mbah a Moute. Tony Parker will sit vs the Raptors Parker will likely miss the next 2 games, and this is a spot I will only touch in tournaments. Dejounte Murray has been starting, but the minutes have basically been split. I think either guy could get more minutes, and both can be used in tournaments. Kawhi Leonard should also see some more time at point. What We're Waiting to Know Emmanuel Mudiay is unlikely to play vs the Jazz Mudiay plays big minutes for the Nuggets, so we definitely have a few places to look. Jameer Nelson is one of my favorite value plays at PG, though the match up with the Jazz isn't too fun. Will Barton will play the minutes, but like Nelson, has to face the Jazz defense. The "Every Lineup" Guys John Wall Wall and the Celtics have a nice rivalry going, which should make this one very fun. I expect both superstars to show up, and neither can...
