DFSR’s Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/19/17
DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Thursday 1/19/17 The DFSR crew of James Davis and Doug Norrie talk a five game slate of NBA action. This one is a tricky one with two of the five games coming in as potential blowouts. Both the Cavs and Spurs opened at -12.5 favorites over the Suns and Nuggets respectively. They discuss how Chris Paul’s injury opens up a ton of minutes for Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton at point guard. They also discuss Roddick and Jamal Crawford in that back court as well. Then they weight the safety in a guy like Carmelo Anthony coming off a bad night against the Celtics. The power forward and center positions look particularly thin with most of the big money and even value guys coming in with question marks. Subscribe to this podcast on...

Point Guard Austin Rivers FD - $5600 DK - $5200 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 25.88 DK - 27.64 Raymond Felton FD - $5500 DK - $4800 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 24.43 DK - 26.18 Chris Paul will miss 6 or so weeks with a finger injury, and both of these guys are going to have to step up. Doc trusts Felton to run the point, and he should see around 25 minutes per night. Austin Rivers is the guy I am mostly interested in. The upside is obvious, and he has shown it before. The Timberwolves have been rather average against point guards, and Ricky Rubio is no crazy man to man defender. I think both of these guys will be able to produce at least 1 FP per minute. Rivers should get plenty of opportunity here, and this could be the door he needed to prove himself in the league. He has seen a huge bump in both minutes and production with CP3 out this year, and we will see a gradual price increase as Rivers establishes himself. This Chris Paul injury opens up a lot, and we will be looking at multiple guys to take advantage. Rivers is my favorite of the two, and Felton is a guy I like in cash games. Kyrie Irving FD - $8400 DK - $8600 Opponent - PHO Proj Pts FD - 39.65 DK - 42.38 This is a game I will look to target a lot tonight, and especially from the Cavaliers side. The big 3 have a great match up, and the game should stay pretty competitive. Eric Bledsoe is a good defender, but the Suns play fast and lack defensive efficiency. Irving has played well against the Suns, finishing with 27, 2 and 7 only a month ago. Irving is a guy who is very up and down, which makes him a tournament play by nature. I will look to target some other Cavs in cash games, and stick to tournaments with Irving. You can also look into stacking this game, as the 2 tams have concentrated scoring, and can do a lot of it. Eric Bledsoe FD - $8000 DK - $7700 Opponent - CLE Proj Pts...

What We Know Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out Porzingis has been out for a while now, and we have seen some players take advantage. Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Carmelo Anthony have already seen the biggest bumps in production, and both are in play tonight. The Celtics have a few decent individual defenders, but play fast and don't have a great defensive efficiency. You can look at both Anthony and Kuzminskas in cash, and tournaments as well. Steven Adams will not play with a concussion Adams is still in the concussion protocol, and will be held out at least another game. Enes Kanter will step in if the game stays close, and he has a ton of upside. Joffrey Lauvergne and Domantas Sabonis could also see some extra run, and I do have slight interest in both. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will not play against the Hawks KCP will miss his 3rd consecutive game, and could be out for a few more. Stanley Johnson has played big minutes, and saw 38 minutes in the last contest. He should see big minutes again tonight, and you can definitely play him in tournaments. The price is cheap, and we have seen the upside in the past. What We're Waiting to Know Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel & T.J. McConnell are questionable against the Raptors McConnell and Embiid both play big minutes, and Noel could step in for Embiid if he misses. If all 3 are out, Jahlil Okafor will play 30 minutes, and is a great option against the Raptors. Sergio Rodriguez will also get the start, and you can consider him in all formats. His price is still cheap, and should have the ball in his hands a ton. We have no idea what's going on with Klay Thompson Thompson went from probable, to out, to questionable. He is currently questionable, and I really don't think he ends up playing. Ian Clark will likely get the start, but he doesn't...

Point Guard Russell Westbrook FD - $12300 DK - $12100 Opponent - GS Proj Pts FD - 56.35 DK - 60.18 I am not a huge fan of narratives, but c'mon, you have to Love what Westbrook brings tonight. These 2 teams did face off already, but the game turned into a blowout and Westbrook only saw 28 minutes. That could certainly happen again tonight, and at his price, he isn't a guy I will look at in cash. With that being said, you have to love him in tournaments. If the game stays close, thy have nobody to guard Westbrook, and the upside is unlimited. Point guard is a spot you can go a lot of different ways at, but will probably want to pay up somewhat. Westbrook is sitting in the low 12k's on both sites, so he forces yo into a pretty tough roster construction. This slate is not one with a bunch of value, and because of that, Westbrook will be limited to tournaments. Let's take a look at some guys you can look at in cash games. Kyle Lowry FD - $8800 DK - $8500 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 38.15 DK - 41.03 Lowry took a seat last night, so should be ready to go full force tonight. The 76ers have been playing well as of late, and with the Raptors on a back-back, this could definitely stay close. Lowry is a do it all PG, and the ultimate guy for cash games. Lowry consistently sits above 40 fantasy points, and will then flash his 55 point ceiling very week or so. This could definitely be one of those game, as he will have the freshest legs and be able to log plenty of minutes. Joel Embiid is a great presence inside, but the 76ers have nobody on the perimeter to help. The 76ers have been bad against PG's, ranking 6th to last last in terms of real life points scored. Sergio Rodriguez is a decent defender, but will struggle with the off ball screens that the Raptors love to run. His price is fair, and he is a very comforting player to have. Kemba Walker FD - $7900 DK - $7700 Opponent - POR Proj Pts...

What We Know Clint Capela will return after missing over a month This is kind of a bummer, as I as interested in Harrell tonight. With Ryan Anderson questionable, I could see Clint Capela play good minutes. It has been announced that he will play big minutes, and I don't hate him in tournaments. Montrezl Harrell and Nene lose all appeal for me. This could up harden's assist numbers as well, as these 2 were tremendous early in the season. Josh Richardson will miss at least 2 weeks Richardson has been battling an injury as of late, and it has been announced that he will be out for at least 2 weeks. Dion Waiters will gain the most minutes, and Goran Dragic will also have his minutes secured. Richardson averaged almost 38 minutes when he played, so there are definitely ways to take advantage. What We're Waiting to Know Ryan Anderson is questionable against the Heat Anderson takes a ton of shots for the Rockets, and with Capela back, this is getting a bit murky. We could see Harrell step in at PF, and I do like him. He has been good when on the court, and his price is still pretty low. He will also see defense from someone other than Hassan Whiteside, which is great. If Anderson plays, I will only have exposure to Capela. Gary Harris is questionable against the Lakers Harris has been battling injuries all season, and it looks like he could miss this one. Will Barton is currently listed as probable, so he should be the guy who gets most minutes at SG. He has upside, but is only someone to consider in tournaments. The Lakers are a good match up, and somebody will have a good game on the wing if Harris is out. The "Every Lineup" Guys Nikola Jokic Jokic has been phenomenal as of late, and h will likely do more of the same tonight. Timofey...
