DFSR’s Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Tuesday 3/28/17
DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Tuesday 3/28/17 DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take to a Tuesday pod to talk a packed night in the NBA. The game of the night is clearly the Warriors and the Rockets. James Harden likely becomes a big money chalk play on a night with a ton of value in other positions. The guys discuss how to view Harden, if Eric Gordon and Lou Williams get more minutes and whether we see big run out of the Warriors’ big three in Curry, Klay and Draymond. Other value creeping up comes from the Hawks against the Suns with Tim Hardaway, Taurean Prince and Ersan Ilyasova all still coming cheap for high minutes’ upside. They also discuss Devin Booker and Tyler Ulis for the Suns. All of that and more in a game-by-game breakdown of Tuesday in the NBA. Subscribe to this podcast on...

What We Know Carmelo Anthony is available to play It looks like Melo is going to return tonight, which definitely hurts the likes of Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick Rose. Anthony makes for an interesting option in tournaments, but I think I'll stay away. outside of Melo, Porzingis and Rose are both interesting. What we're waiting to know DeMarcus Cousins is questionable to play against the Jazz Cousins missed the game last night, so I would definitely expect him to miss this one against one of the best defenses in the league. If Cousins is out, Anthony Davis becomes a very interesting play. Jrue Holiday should also pick up a few shots and minutes. If Cousins plays, I will look to avoid the situation as a whole. The Jazz are extremely good in the interior. Gordon Hayward is questionable against the Pelicans Hayward has been playing huge minutes for the Jazz, as always. If Hayward plays, nothing really changes. If Hayward is out, Joe Johnson and Joe Ingles will both get big minutes. Both of them are both great options. George Hill will also pick up a few shots and he makes a lot of sense in both cash games and tournaments. Marc Gasol is considered questionable to play Marc Gasol, like Hayward, is a pivotal member of his team, on both sides. If Gasol plays, he is still a pretty good option. If Gasol is out, Zach Randolph is a GREAT play. He would see about 35 minutes against a very weak Kings interior. Willie Cauley-Stein will also see 30+ minutes tonight and if Gasol isn't there, he will have a much better match-up. The "Every Lineup" Guys DeMar DeRozan There really isn't any must plays on this slate, so take the "every lineup" title with a grain of salt. With that being said, there are some guys who stand far above the rest, with DeMar DeRozan being one of them. The Raptors...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/27/17
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/27/17 Monday hoops, y'all! We have a solid 6 game slate to dig through - a few teams that are normally blowout risks should see their minutes, and several teams that play slow and play solid defense. I think there's still plenty of value to be had here, though, so let's do this like Brutus. Point Guard George Hill FD - $6100 DK - $5900Opponent - NOProj Pts FD - 30.36 DK - 32.39 A simple case of which track record you trust - Hill's season long averages of 28 fantasy points per game, or the recent stumble? Hill's last tilt with the Clippers was a complete disaster, but there are actually a lot of positive signs if you peer back just a little bit further. He shot 17 and 18 times in the two games prior while posting healthy rebounding and assist totals, and we potentially get a little bonus here if Gordon Hayward winds up having to take a night off. What really drives this ranking, though, is the match-up. If you accept Hill as a 28 fantasy point per game guy, it's trivial to give him a few extra points on account of him playing the 3rd best match-up in the entire league for opposing point guards. This looks like a solid (if slight) value that I'd be happy to gobble up for cash game purposes, particularly with how shallow this position appears to be at first glance. Derrick Rose FD - $5900 DK - $5800Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 30.51 DK - 32.31 Rose's minutes had been sort of all over the place, but he managed 36 of them against the Spurs in what wound up being a close game. Vegas hasn't set a line for this game just yet (probably based on the Melo news), but with Detroit's pace I don't foresee a blowout being the average case in this one. If Melo plays I don't think he's nearly as good a value, but the extra shots to go around make a big difference here. It's also worth noting that the Pistons are leaning toward starting Ish Smith again, and while I'm a well documented believer in Ish's ability to run the point, he's an incredible liability on D against...

Point Guard Chris Paul FD - $8900 DK - $8100 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 43.55 DK - 46.08 Paul and the Clippers will start us off here against the Kings, who have all but lost interest in the 2017 season. The Clippers on the other hand, need to win. With the Thunder and Grizzlies both breathing down their necks, you can bet Rivers will have his stars out there. Paul hasn't had many big games recently, out of convenience. The last 3 games where Paul saw under 35 minutes were huge blowouts, which make sense. He's an older guard with an injury history and will be rested if given the opportunity. While this game does have the potential to turn into a blowout, I don't think it does. The Clippers are enduring the 2nd half of a back to back and the bench is very worn out. I expect Rivers to rely on the starters here for around 35 minutes and Paul to have a big game. While the safety is basically built in, this is one of the best match-ups for his upside. Collison is not a good pick and roll defender, and as we know, Paul is a PNR orchestrator. Paul is the top option at PG, though there are plenty of ways to go. Jrue Holiday FD - $7200 DK - $7200 Opponent - DEN Proj Pts FD - 35.06 DK - 37.51 Holiday has taken advantage of the acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins, finishing with 40 fantasy points on a regular basis since his addition. Holiday has done a terrific job of spreading the ball around and feeding the hot hand, which is hard to do with 2 superstars. He has also taken his own lane and done a bit of scoring, with so much attention on the big men. Holiday doesn't come off as a guy with huge upside, but he does have it, scoring over 60 fantasy points on 3 different occasions just this season. The Nuggets are atrocious against point guards and neither Jameer Nelson or Jamal Murray are physical enough to slow down Holiday. They will both be bullied by on-ball screens and be forced to switch on a big man. The Nuggets could struggle...

What We Know Paul Millsap and Kent Bazemore will remain out tonight sgainst the Bucks This comes as no surprise, as the Hawks have given us a warning that they are being very careful with these 2. They are both extremely pivotal to the team and aren' really needed right now. They will be full go's once the playoffs hit and be playing close to 40 minutes a night in and night out. For now, Taurean Prince, Thabo Sefolosha, and Ersan Ilyasova will benefit. Prince and Ilyasova are out favorite and come in as fantastic plays in both formats. The Bucks are a very average defense and struggle against athletic perimeter players. What we're waiting to know John Wall is a GTD against the Nets with a migraine This is the biggest piece of news on the day and one that will dictate a lot on this slate. If Wall plays, I don't have much interest in this Wizards offense. They will destroy the Nets and I'm worried about guys not seeing regular minutes. If Wall sits, it's a completely different story. Brad Beal becomes a fantastic option in all formats and Otto Porter also gets a bump. Remember, the Wizards picked up Brandon Jennings. He's a pretty good backup and I could see him having a productive game if given the minutes. T.J. Warren is officially questionable, but not expected to play I doubt Warren is hurt to any significant degree. The Suns have made it quite clear by sitting Bledsoe, Knight, and Chandler for the season that they don't want to win. Warren certainly gives them a better chance of winning and they don't mind holding him out with a couple bruises. I doubt they force him against the Celtics, who will likely blow out the Suns anyway. If Warren does play, he's pretty interesting against the Celtics. If Warren misses, I will just stick with Ulis and Booker. Derrick Jones got the...
